    Steven Spielberg Reveals George Lucas and Kathleen Kennedy Helped Him Finish ‘JURASSIC PARK’

    Steven Spielberg owes much of his success to the invaluable contributions of his key partners, George Lucas and Kathleen Kennedy. They have helped each other out on many films like Star Wars, Indiana Jones, and Jurassic Park franchises.

    In 1993, Spielberg sought additional assistance to ensure that both Jurassic Park and Schindler’s List could be released on schedule.

    According to Business Insider, Spielberg immediately got in touch with his producer, Kathleen Kennedy, who is now the president of Lucasfilm, to let her know that he had to switch his attention from finishing up “Jurassic Park” to working on “Schindler’s List,” even though there were still some final touches like sound mixing, color correction, and sound effects remaining for the former movie.

    He also mentioned calling George Lucas whom Spielberg referred to as a best friend always to oversee the the dubbing process, and he graciously agreed to come in and handle the dubbing for me.

    In the end, “Jurassic Park” won the awards for Best Sound Effects Editing and Best Sound at the 66th Academy Awards in 1994, thanks to the help of “Star Wars” creator George Lucas.

    Nicholas Cage In Talks To Reprise In The Live-Action SPIDER-MAN NOIR Series.

    According to The Ankler, Nicolas Cage is reportedly circling the ‘Spider-Man Noir’ project as he engages in serious talks to take on the lead role in the series, which will be set in 1930s New York City.

    Despite previous character change reports, Cage is reportedly in serious negotiations to play the ’30s detective version of the Marvel web-slinger. However, Sony declined to comment regarding Cage’s involvement in the project, which is still developing.

    Cage popularly voiced the Spider-Man Noir character in Sony’s blockbuster smash, Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse (2018). Although Cage didn’t reprise the role in the multi-million-dollar box office sequel, Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse (2023), the actor continues to hold the character in high esteem.

    In an interview with Comic Book , the actor described the character as such: “Well, I think it’s a wonderful character. It’s a character that lends itself to channeling some of my favorite noir movie stars. Spider-Man, for me, is the coolest superhero. I think to have that combined with a noir, like 1930s golden age movie star attitude, makes it one of the most exciting of all the superhero characters.”

    According to The Digitalbits, Disney and Sony have just inked a major deal for Sony Pictures Home Entertainment to take over all of Disney’s physical media production going forward.

    This means that Sony will handle and oversee the actual authoring and compression of discs, work with the replicators and packaging vendors, and oversee the titles as they go out to the distributors and on to retailers.

    This deal makes sense for Disney for several reasons, not the least of which is that Sony is far more efficient and cost-effective at producing their discs, whereas Disney’s physical media operation has been subject to no small amount of internal organizational turmoil recently.

    Ironically, Disney turning over their physical media operation to Sony means that a lot of these people are likely to lose their jobs, which is regrettable.

    “Schindler’s List” is a film that masterfully conveys the harrowing reality of the Holocaust, eliciting strong emotions from its viewers. Steven Spielberg, who is of Jewish heritage, was deeply motivated to create this film when he noticed a rise in Holocaust denial in 1993.

    According to The Gazette, portraying the devastating events of the Holocaust, particularly considering his connection to it, took a toll on Spielberg. Switching between working on “Hook” and “Schindler’s List” was emotionally taxing, leaving him feeling resentful and angry combined with the challenging schedule that usually drained him at the end of each day.

    During the making of the film, Robin Williams regularly called Steven Spielberg, providing support and lightening the emotional burden that came with directing such a heavy film.

    “Robin knew what I was going through, and once a week, Robin would call me on schedule, and he would do 15 minutes of stand-up on the phone,” said Spielberg. 

    “I would laugh hysterically because I had to release so much. … The way Robin is on the telephone, he’d always hang up on the loudest, best laugh you’d give him. He’d never say goodbye, just hang up on the biggest laugh,” he also added.

    According to Variety, after being announced as the best supporting actor at the BAFTA for his performance in “Oppenheimer,” Robert Downey Jr. took to the stage to reflect on his career not resisting the urge to make a joke about it too. He also thanked Christopher Nolan for giving him a shot at reviving his dwindling career after playing Iron Man for 12 years.

    “When I was 15, I wanted to be Peter O’Toole. When I was 25, I worked for Richard Attenborough and Anthony Hopkins. When I was 35, I finally understood why Dickie thought Tony would be a better role model for me than Peter,” Downey Jr. said.

    “When I was 42, I did two films for Guy Ritchie and learned how to make big Hollywood movies with a civil British flare” he added, referring to 2009’s Sherlock Holmes and its 2011 sequel.

    He continued, “I then played a guy named Tony in the MCU for about 12 years. And then recently, that dude Chris Nolan suggested I attempt an understated approach as a last-ditch effort to perhaps resurrect my dwindling credibility. So I share this with my fellow nominees, this has been an exceptional year.”

    The actor also honored his fellow cast and loved ones with a special thanks to his wife saying, “I owe this to Chris, Emma, Cillian, the cast and crew, Universal, WME and honestly just British influence. And I place this at the feet of my alpha and omega: Susan Downey.”

    Robert Downey Jr. played Lewis Strauss, a high-ranking member of the U.S Atomic Energy Commission, who became hostile to Oppenheimer and sought to prove he was disloyal to the U.S.

    In his BAFTA category, Downey Jr. was up against Robert De Niro for Killers of the Flower Moon, Jacob Elordi for Saltburn, Ryan Gosling for Barbie, Paul Mescal for All of Us Strangers, and Dominic Sessa for The Holdovers.

    Takashi Yamazaki, the Director of the Godzilla Minus One, film has disclosed his interest in making a sequel to the movie featuring different monsters to battle against Godzilla. During a brand-new interview with Empire magazine, the director revealed that he would like to feature some “kaiju vs. kaiju” action in the follow-up, if Toho lets him make it. He also commented on how the problems for Shikishima (Ryunosuke Kamiki) may just be beginning, as it may just be a short matter of time before Godzilla resurfaces, further disclosing how the potential sequel may bring in more iconic kaiju creatures.

    Yamazaki said, “I would certainly like to see what the sequel would look like. I know that Shiki Shim’s war seems over, and we’ve reached this state of peace and calm – but perhaps [it’s the] calm before the storm, and the characters have not yet been forgiven for what has been imposed upon them.”

    “I don’t know that anyone has pulled off a more serious tone of kaiju-versus-kaiju with human drama, and that challenge is something that I’d like to explore. When you have movies that feature [kaiju battles], I think it’s very easy to put the spotlight and the camera on this massive spectacle, and it detaches itself from the human drama component,” he continued.

    He went on to say that he would have to “make sure that the human drama and whatever’s happening between [the] kaiju both have meaning, and both can affect one another in terms of plot development.”

    Godzilla Minus One was written by Takashi Yamazaki, and the story views an already destroyed postwar Japan facing a brand new threat in Godzilla. After the film’s release, it became the highest-grossing live-action Japanese film in North America. The film stars Ryunosuke Kamiki, Minami Hamabe, Yuki Yamada, Munetaka Aoki, Hidetaka Yoshioka, Sakura Ando, and Kuranosuke Sasaki.
