  • Warner Bros Declines SXSW Appeal To Screen ‘COYOTE VS ACME’ At The Festival

Warner Bros Declines SXSW Appeal To Screen ‘COYOTE VS ACME’ At The Festival

In a surprising move, Warner Bros turned down an invitation from the South by Southwest (SXSW) festival to screen the highly anticipated film ‘Coyote vs Acme’. This decision has left film enthusiasts shocked.

After the annual festival, which showcases a collection of film, music, and interactive media, reached out to Warner Bros, the company declined the opportunity to participate in SXSW for several reasons. One reason is that the film is not yet ready for public viewing. Additionally, it seems that the studio has a different preference for the venue of its premiere.

This news has left fans and industry executives confused, given the festival’s tradition of showcasing work-in-progress cuts of films.

According to Bnn Breaking, sources close to the studio have revealed that Warner Bros. is shifting its focus towards theatrical releases. This strategy could explain the hesitation to screen ‘Coyote vs Acme’ at a festival known for showcasing unfinished works. The studio may be aiming for a more polished and complete version of the film to make a bigger impact in theaters.

Furthermore, Warner Bros. has started shopping the film to other studios with an asking price of $75 million. However, as of now, no other studio has acquired it, causing uncertainty among fans who are eager to see the iconic cartoon rivalry on the big screen.

  • Josh Safdie To Direct Adam Sandler’s New Netflix Comedy Special

Josh Safdie To Direct Adam Sandler’s New Netflix Comedy Special

Adam Sandler will be reuniting with Uncut Gems co-director Josh Safdie for a new comedy special set to air on Netflix. However, there are not enough details about the production such as a title, production timeline, or even premiere date.

According to Variety, the project continues Sandler’s string of collaborations with Safie, who co-directed him in 2019’s ‘Uncut Gems’ alongside his brother Benny Safdie. Following the release and success of the previous work, Sandler starred in the brothers’ 2020 short film ‘Goldman v. Silverman’ and is set to lead an upcoming feature set in the world of sports memorabilia to be directed by Josh and produced by Benny.

Still currently untitled, the upcoming special will be Sandler’s second at Netflix, following his 2018 set “100% Fresh” which received a 90% fresh score on Rotten Tomatoes.

The actor has been characteristically busy with a bunch of projects since then, starring in three movies alone last year, including “Murder Mystery 2” with Jennifer Aniston, “You Are So Not Invited to My Bat Mitzvah” (featuring the entire Sandler family), and the animated film Leo. As it stands now, his only project on the docket for 2024 is Spaceman, a sci-fi film set to premiere on Netflix on March 1.

  • Game Of Thrones Spin-off “Aegons Conquest” In The Works

Game Of Thrones Spin-off “Aegons Conquest” In The Works

The overwhelming success from the Game of Thrones series led to the production of the House of the Dragon and another similar project is in the works written by the Batman Part 2 writer, Mattson Tomlin.

HBO is in the development of a spin-off series with the idea of showcasing the tale of Aegon’s Conquest of the seven kingdoms. The tale is basically a direct prequel to the smash hit House of the Dragon, telling the story of the Targaryen’s bloody and brutal conquest of Westeros.

The story follows Aegon Targaryen the invader, who conquered the continent of Westeros with his sister wives, Rhaenys and Visenya, and their dragons. Aegon successfully unified six of the Seven Kingdoms in just two years, with only Dorne able to successfully resist.

According to Hollywood Reporter, One source described the project as taking a “back to basics” approach to George R.R. Martin’s epic fantasy universe (though considering the first series was sprawling and complex, it’s unclear what “back to basics” means, exactly, in the Thrones context) Aegon’s Conquest was previously reported as an idea in discussion early last year.

A disheartening story should be expected from the film as the Targaryen spared nothing in his quest to capture Westeros. The new series will likely delve into these massacres and how the house of Targaryen rose to prominence.

In addition, details concerning the cast and release date are yet to be announced.

  • Millers Girl: Martin Freeman and Jane Ortega’s Talents Wasted In Dull Psychological Thriller, According To Critics’ Review

Millers Girl: Martin Freeman and Jane Ortega’s Talents Wasted In Dull Psychological Thriller, According To Critics’ Review

For her director industry debut, Jade Halley Bartlett tells the story of a teenage girl who forms a close relationship with her literature teacher, Jonathan Miller (Martin Freeman). Addition to the cast is Jenna Ortega as 18-year-old Cairo Sweet, a precious Tennessee student with an ice-cold personality. “Literature is my solace in solitude, and writing is my only means of escape,” she says, like most 18-year-olds do.

According to Discussing Film, there have been countless recommendations regarding the fictional piece which is co-produced by Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg. The root of 18-year-old Cairo’s dilemma is boredom. We’re introduced to the character as the film opens, as she laments about how her rich lawyer parents leave her in a large empty house, and her only solace lies in reading and writing.

As she dreams of attending Yale, she is instructed to write an essay about her greatest accomplishment. Cairo soon realizes that she has accomplished nothing, living her life sheltered by privilege in a small Tennessee town. Unlike the other teachers, Miller shows her a great deal of affection for being such a bright student and talented young writer.

During the interaction with the film, viewers must accept that Cairo and Jonathan are two different people with compelling and difficult-to-understand emotions. However, the case for the characters is that her desires stem from naive foolishness, while his come from insecurity.

Her ability to fully internalize the relationship she was a part of and allow it influence her she transforms into a true writer. The act of being a writer comes not only from gaining experience but also from being an active presence in it rather than a passive one.
