Actor Chris Rock has been announced as the director for the American remake of the 2020 film ‘Another Round’. The film presents enormous potential for success as veteran actor Leonardo DiCaprio is potentially starring and is also confirmed as an executive producer.

The announcement of this remake has brought forth a mixture of enthusiasm and uneasiness, especially from the original film’s director and co-writer, Thomas Vinterberg.

According to Screen Rant, during an interview with Danish newspaper Ekstra Bladet, Vinterberg shared his thoughts on the news of Rock’s involvement in the remake. Initially praising DiCaprio’s decision to acquire the rights and describing him as someone who has always made good decisions, Vinterberg jokingly replied about what would happen if Rock’s direction resulted in a poor remake.

“Well, he’s only made one film before this one, so it’s exciting to see what he comes up with. I’m full of great expectations, and if the movie’s shit, then he’ll just get another slap, right?”

The original film received widespread recognition, securing nominations for several awards and winning the Oscar for Best International Feature Film at the 93rd Academy Awards.
