2023 was a great year for movies. We got to see some amazing releases like Barbie and Oppenheimer that not only dominated the box office but also left an undeniably lasting impact on the music industry. It was not only through their outstanding cast, impressive cinematography, and unforgettable storyline but also with a stunning soundtrack that led to a well-deserved Grammy win.

Greta Gerwig and Christopher Nolan‘s movies emerged from contrasting realms and drew a line within the fan base when they both premiered on the same day and sparked the “Barbenheimer” viral trend.

Barbie received 11 Grammy nominations and ended up winning three of them, which included awards for Best Song Written for Visual Media and Best Compilation Soundtrack for Visual Media. Plus Billie Eilish and her brother Finneas won the Grammy for best song for Visual Media, which also came from the Barbie movie.

On the other hand, Oppenheimer won the Grammy for Best Score Soundtrack for Visual Media, which includes film and television with Barbie among the nominees. The composer and songwriter is also a nominee in the Oscar For Best Original Song Category.
