Barely two months after Brittish Williams’ prison sentence, she revealed during an interview how a gambling addiction and her father’s death ruined her. It is uncertain when the onscreen star will resume in prison, but she wants to be heard for now.

How Brittish Williams’ Gambling Addiction and Father’s Death Caused Some Problems

On Reality with King, “Basketball Wives” star Brittish Williams cited her father’s death as a propellant for her gambling addiction and other misdeeds. She disclosed that before losing him to idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis in 2017, she was a staunch gambler.

But after the unfortunate incident, Williams thought that it was time to give up her gambling addiction. She looked at the loose change she inherited from her dad’s insurance. According to her, the next course of action was to invest it in a bid to right her wrongs.

Rather than begin on a clean slate, Williams listened to a financial advisor who advised her wrongly. The disgraced TV star charged with fraud confessed that her crimes were unintentional.

In her words:

“When people see this misuse of a social security number, they think I went and stole people’s social security numbers or something. That wasn’t the case… I bought a CPN from a credit lady, and I don’t know if it was somebody’s actual social security number or if it was something they created. I don’t know, but that’s where that came from.”

Brittish Williams’ Prison Sentence

Williams was hit with a four-year sentence after the court found her guilty of an array of fraudulent crimes. Page Six writes that she was guilty of Social Security number misuse, several counts of wire fraud, and false statements to the IRS. The onscreen star also committed four bank frauds.

Reportedly, these activities were years before “Basketball Wives” British Williams’ father’s death. It had been ongoing for about a decade before she was charged.

In the end, Brittish Williams might have racked up some number of years for her prison sentence, but she managed to beat her gambling addiction. The reality TV star, who had earlier admitted to her fraud crimes, told Carlos King she lost $50,000 in two days to gambling. Gambling was to her what drug was to a drug user.
