According to PageSix, Caitlyn Jenner used the R-word on X (formerly Twitter) and faced merciless trolling for misspelling it.

In response to Donald Trump Jr. on Wednesday night, the Olympian tweeted the slur, expressing concern that it is no longer commonly used as it was during her upbringing.

Many social media users pointed out the glaring typo, prompting the former

“I Am Cait”

Star to make corrections to her sentence.

“Excuse me… RETARDED,”

She wrote. However, internet users continued to criticize Jenner.

“One X user tweeted, “Misspelling that word specifically is so goddamn funny.”

Another agreed, saying,

“the jokes really do write themselves.”

Despite being aware of her mistake, the 74-year-old Jenner did not delete the misspelled tweet from her page. Instead, she joined the trolls in making fun of herself.

She posted a comment saying,

“Omg I immediately respelled it properly

And in a follow-up post, she added,

“epic ironic fail, I get it”

The Special Olympics website describes the R-word as a hurtful term that is still widely used on social media. It states that

“7 out of 10”

Posts about people with intellectual disabilities are negative, and

“6 out of 10 contain a slur.”
