Lindsay Lohan‘s publicist, Lesley Sloane, issued a statement to People and other media outlets, revealing that the actor is hurt and disappointed by the new Mean Girls film. The film references a rude comment made to her nearly two decades ago. The original Mean Girls star expressed her concern about the “joke” made about her in the new Mean Girls musical.

The musical film topped the domestic box office, with Meghan de Stallion making a cameo as herself at a talent show. During the show, she commented on Cady Haron’s (played by Angourie Rice) Christmas-themed outfit, originally portrayed by Lindsey, saying,

“We are going back red. Y2K fire crotch is back,” referring to Brandon Davis‘ 2006 paparazzi video where he made derogatory remarks about Lindsay, calling her a “Fire crotch.”

However, it was later reported that Lindsay was unaware of the joke, despite making a surprise cameo appearance in one scene. She was surprised when she attended a screening of the film, alongside Tina Fey, the writer and co-star of the 2004 Mean Girls movie, in which Lohan also appeared.
