Doja Cat may not want her fans, The Kittenz, to feel that she hates them, but she does not want them to feel like she owes them. The rapper, who has since lost thousands of her Kittenz, claims she was misquoted while standing on her conviction of not owing anyone an explanation.

Doja Cat Comes For Her Fans— Kittenz

Doja Cat may make music that resonates with her fans, but she does not want to be the inspiration behind their decisions. Also, the Paint T does not conform to any celebrity-fan relationship standard.
In July, fans backlash against her lack of affection after one person asked her to confirm her love for them. She flat out responded, “I don’t though cuz I don’t even know y’all.”

Once called out for being rude, Doja Cats told fans she did not beg for their support, adding that the standards made them seem crazy.

As if that was not overwhelming enough, the rapper’s fans who tag themselves as Kittenz have also received impolite words for coming up with the name. Doja Cat did not attach any creativity to the name; instead, she called it “creepy” and asked fans to make themselves useful in their homes.

This criticism from Doja Cat has caused her to lose a handful of fans, yet she does not feel sorry about her remarks.

Doja Cats Doesn’t Hate Her Fans

On December 14, Page Six reported that Doja Cat spoke in an interview with Ebro Darden of Apple Music. Doja told Darden that the Kittenz had misconstrued her message for a long time, which seems shocking as she never used the hate word on them.

According to her:

“One thing that I do want to set straight is that you’ll never see a direct quote of me saying, ‘I hate my fans.’ Not once.”

Setting the records straight was the only length she was willing to go. The rapper added:

“It’s definitely something, and I know that people who get it, get it, and I’m fine with that. I don’t need to have to explain my sense of humor or explain comedy to anyone. If people don’t see the joke, then they just don’t see the joke. It’s not my responsibility to have them understand.”

Doja Cat Wants Fans To Know That They Do Not Own Her

Shortly after the mass exodus of Kittenz from her social media page, Doja Cat told Harper’s Bazaar where she stood. The 28-year-old believes she may not be a real person to her fans. However, according to her, this has somehow empowered the Kittenz to take ownership of her.

In her words:

“So when people become engaged with someone they don’t even know on the internet, they kind of take ownership over that person. They think that person belongs to them in some sense.”

Because of this theory, the rapper maintained that her behaviour had stirred an uproar. However, she added, “I’ve accepted that that’s what happens.”
