The film production takes the Direction of Angela Patton and Natalie Rae, Produced by Lisa Mazzotta, Justin Benoliel, Mindy Goldberg, Sam Bisbee, Kathryn Everett, and Laura Choi Raycroft.

The film portrays the story of Four Young Girls as they prepare for a special Daddy Daughter dance as part of a unique fatherhood program with their fathers who have been incarcerated in a Washington DC jail. This unique program involves dance, touch, and celebration that transcends the prison walls.

After the chances of in-person visitation for these families who have been systematically shut down across the US since 2014, and replaced with video conference apps the families are expected to pay for.

The film takes us on a ride with the fathers as they go through a 12-week Fatherhood Training Program that prepares them for the intensity of the dance and the emotional fallout.

For the production of this documentary film, the families have been filmed over four years since the dance. Publication and Distribution of ‘Daughter’ is set to begin in January 2024.
