Production for the upcoming historical epic drama directed by Ridley Scott has come to an end, with everything wrapping up. The film is a sequel to the 2000 movie Gladiator and is written by David Scarpa. It stars Paul Mescal, May Calamawy, Joseph Quinn, Fred Hechinger, and Pedro Pascal, with Connie Nielsen and Derek Jacobi reprising their roles.

The movie is set to be released on November 22, 2024. The story follows the events after Gladiator, with Lucius (Paul Mescal), the nephew of Commodus, now a grown man living in the wilderness and having lost touch with his mother. She assumes he is dead. Denzel Washington joins the cast as a gladiator who won his freedom and is now a wealthy citizen but still holds a grudge.

The Gladiator 2 film has been in the works for over 20 years and is finally set to arrive at the end of 2024. The director has revealed that it’s going to be very different from the original 2000 movie. Despite the production being affected by the 2023 WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes, the announcement of the production’s conclusion has garnered excitement, as seen in the behind-the-scenes images.
