The budget for the upcoming villainous sequel, Joker: Folie à Deux, has been estimated to have a $200 million budget, which is a big increase from the nearly $60 million budget that a similar movie had in 2019.
Co-Director Todd Phillips, the main man behind the lurid Joker that raked a fortune, is back with a daring sequel that promises to be a deeply disturbing comic book movie.

In October, the film will come out chronicling the adventures of Arthur Fleck, an unsuccessful comedian who transforms into a notorious criminal villain, Lady Gaga, on the contrary as Harley Quinn in a musical setting.

According to Variety, the budget has more than tripled, which includes huge payments for actor Joaquin Phoenix, who was reported to be getting $20 million to play his role once again, and to Lady Gaga who was due to earn $12 million.

This is caused by the rise in costs brought about by the increased levels of competition from streaming platforms. To ensure their theatrical viability, Warner Brothers must invest in A-list talent.

However, the film’s budget increase is an issue that focuses on the film’s value and its capacity to top the box office success. Drawing comparisons to other high-budget films like Dune: Part II, we follow the pattern of the first part and strive to achieve both the critical and commercial recognition of Joker.

Inspired by Francis Ford Coppola‘s costly musical, One From The Heart, Warner Bros. anticipates Joker: With a roadshow premiere planned for its UK cinema release on Oct. 4, the film Folie à Deux can deliver a sizable impact.
