Jussie Smollett didn’t allow the unending legal woes to get in his way as he went on to complete his rehab program. The disgraced actor was involved in a rehab stint that lasted for five months while staying clear of any substance.

Jussie Smollett in a New Frame After Completing His Rehab Program

For over two years, Smollett has tried to prove his innocence in a case many believed he orchestrated. During his trial in Chicago, the prosecutors pointed to the actor’s substance abuse history. Even though he was at loggerheads with the opposition, Jussie took matters into his own hands. The Empire star checked into a rehab facility to complete a program once and for all.

In October, Jussie resumed into an outpatient treatment facility. Interestingly, the actor was hell-bent on combating his drug use problem that he even subscribed to reading Matthew Perry’s memoir. This book detailed Matthew’s fight with substance and his addiction problems. According to an insider, Jussie prioritized his health and kept up with his workout routines during his time in the facility.

However, the Empire star, who can now boast of sobriety, has a bigger battle waiting before him. In the coming days, he will appear in front of the Supreme Court in Illinois. There, the court will pass a verdict affecting his 150-day jail sentence and the entire case.

As fans wait for that to unfold, Jussie’s team works round the clock to pick up the fragments of his shattered career. Following his absence from Empire, Jussie did not get another high-flier role. But TMZ speculates that the actor will soon debut his new film. In tandem with his management team, Jussie will also be involved in other onscreen projects.
