This important cause is fighting the discomfort of white people, making them feel comfortable as things may get messy in their discomfort. They are tasked with gauging their morale to detect low and stubby morales. The instructor says

“The happier they are, the safer we are”.

The story takes place as Aren is given his first client, Jason Mount, a white man whose morale is very low and he’s expected to raise it by any means. At this time, Aren begins to enjoy his job with his client and describes it as being a secret agent without none of the danger.

Subsequently, things begin to go left as he meets Lizzy , a co-worker of Jason, and takes a liking to her. When Aren talks deeply about her to Jason, he mistakes Aren’s words as an attempt to match make them as a couple.

Jason ends up liking Lizzy but Aren is unwilling to let go of her and is warned that if he doesn’t put Jason first, everyone loses their magic, his Memory will be erased, and he will never remember Lizzy. Moreover, Eren has always lived with the idea that it was their job to make white people comfortable, but when it becomes his job he feels like it shouldn’t be.
