Lupita Nyong’o Wears The Executive Producer’s Heart For Upcoming Sudan Drama Film ‘Goodbye Julia’

Kenyan actress and Oscar award-winning star Lupita Nyong’o is set to executive produce the upcoming Sudan drama film “Goodbye Julia.”
Lupita came on board joining Sudanese director Mohamed Kordofani on his feature film debut, Goodbye Julie, as an EP (ExecutiveProducer).

This will be the first film from Sudan to screen at the Cannes Film Festival, the film was also selected to be the second to ever screen at the Academy Award for best international film.
The film is a strong reflection of the current happening in Sudan, which has become a pain in the lives of many across Eastern Africa.

Nyong’o said.

The actress graced the screen with her debut in 12 Years a Slave which got her a Best Supporting Actress at the Oscars. Nyongo’o went on to appear in many other features including Nakia in Marvel’s Black Panther movies.

‘Goodbye Julia’

Tells the story of two women whose bond portrays the complex differences of the northern and southern Sudanese communities.

The film features Eiman Yousif, Sudanese model Siran Riak , and South Sudanese actor and activist Ger Duany.
The film happens in Khartoum during the times when Sudan stood still as a united nation. With the region coming to a conflict in 2023.
