A man in Vietnam was shocked to discover that a pair of chopsticks had been stuck in his skull for five months, causing him intense headaches, reports the NY Post

The 35-year-old sought help at Cuba Friendship Hospital in Dong Hoi after experiencing persistent headaches, fluid discharge, and fluid loss. Doctors used CT scans to diagnose

“tension pneumocephalus,”

a rare and dangerous condition that increases pressure in the brain.

According to a report from VN, he remembered being involved in a brawl during a night of drinking  five months ago. The man could only recall being stabbed in the face with an unfamiliar object. However, when he sought medical attention after the incident, doctors found no chopsticks or any irregularities in his nose.

Thankfully, doctors were able to remove the chopsticks through surgery and repair any damage. The man is now stable and will be discharged from the hospital soon.
