Due to health concerns, Rema’s December shows will no longer be a reality for fans who can not wait to see the singer this Yuletide. But there is something more serious than not seeing their favourite star perform.

Rema’s Health Concerns Force Him To ‘Calm Down’ On His Shows This December

Rema shared the heartbreaking news to fans that he would not have December shows. However, he left them with another promise and worry. The 23-year-old confessed that he needed to slow down the brakes. On Wednesday, he took to Instagram with the message.

“I need time to recuperate. 2024 we go again,” he said.

Even though it is an important rest for the singer, he shared his disappointment with fans. He added that the news “breaks [his] heart.” Rema’s December show cities included South Africa, Lagos, Abuja and Benin.

Rema Has Had an Eventful Year

Amid the health concerns and the December show cancellation, Rema has made big moves this year. He became a global sensation following the release of his Calm Down song, which eventually featured Selena Gomez.

Rema’s glory days have included his songs topping music charts and setting records. He also received his first Billboard Music Award. More recently, the Calm Down lyricist performed at the 02 arena in front of over 10,000 guests.

During this period, Rema represented his roots. The singer talked about the indigenous bronze of the Benin people of Nigeria carted away in the 19th century. Since then, these priceless artefacts have remained in the English museum.

While Rema did not make an attempt to reclaim it, he made a remarkable attempt to share the history online.

“My ancestors’ bronzes sit in the museum of this very city so I remade mine,” he chimed, referring to the visuals and effects entertained at his London concert.”
