In a stunning televised moment, a woman from North Carolina experienced a life-changing event as she became the Powerball millionaire of 2024. Pamela Bradshaw fell to the floor in astonishment when Ryan Seacrest announced her winning number during the live broadcast of

“Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve”

just after midnight, reports the NY Post

“Pamela! You’re a millionaire!”

Seacrest announced as Bradshaw fell.

After rising back to her feet, with the support of the host and her daughter Joanna Hinson, a surprised Bradshaw replied,

“Oh my god… I’m so blessed,”

embracing her daughter tightly. Seacrest disclosed that Bradshaw had promised to give a portion of the money to her daughter.

According to the North Carolina Lottery, this is the second consecutive year that a resident of North Carolina has won $1 million on New Year’s Eve.

Bradshaw, who had never been to New York City before, earned a VIP trip to the city through a second-chance drawing organized by the state lottery. She was one of five Powerball players selected nationwide with a chance to win $1 million. According to the NC Lottery, not only was this Bradshaw’s first time seeing the Statue of Liberty, but it was also her first time flying on a plane.

“I cried on the plane ride and I cried at the Statue of Liberty,”

she told the lottery.

“It’s just been so incredible.”

Her VIP trip included a four-day, three-night stay in New York City.

Bradshaw said she also plans on buying a home with the money.

“I would love to have my own home that is mine and that I feel safe in,”

Bradshaw told the lottery.

“Not anything fancy or big, just a little cottage or something with one or two bedrooms.”
