Our favorite teddy bear and buddy, Ted, is back onscreen with an upcoming comedy television series by Seth MacFarlane. This series serves as a prequel to the Ted franchise. Ted resides with John Bennett and his family, who, by the way, wished for him to live with them.

Seth reprises his role as the sentient teddy, with the series set to premiere in January 2024. The film is set in 1993, following the opening sequence of the original film, showcasing Ted’s early life in Massachusetts. The Bennett family, including Matty (John’s Father), Susan (John’s Mother), and Blaire (John’s Cousin), who is currently in college, plays a significant role.

This film promises to be engaging and hilarious, rated R. The series takes a nostalgic journey with seven exciting episodes, ensuring fans have the time of their lives.

The new cast of the series includes Max Burkholder, Alanna Ubach, Scott Grimes, and Giorgia Whigham.

Set in 1993, Ted’s influence on John remains strong. We cannot deny that Ted is a true friend to his favorite pal, John. Ted’s moments and years of fame have passed, and now he’s back home in Framingham with John. His friendship and loyalty to John still withstand the test of time, even after many years.

Seth MacFarlane serves as the series’ director, executive producer, writer, and co-showrunner alongside Paul Corrigan and Brad Walsh.

The creators delved deep into the life and styles of each generation, as well as every Ted film released, aiming to provide a thrill suitable for every generation. They share their thoughts on the matter:

“Each generation develops its own unique artistic style, its own way of seeing the world. In the twenties, it was the subversive musical phrasings of jazz. In the fifties, it was the bold brushwork of the abstract expressionists. Our generation’s unique art is streaming content based on previously successful intellectual property. In that proud tradition, we humbly give you Ted.”
