A 23-year-old prison guard has found herself behind bars after attempting to smuggle drugs into the prison, according to officials per KPLC 7 News. 

Nyeisha Davis was arrested and booked into the Iberville Parish Jail after officials caught her with drugs

“hidden inside her body during a routine scan.”

The young woman had been working at the Elayn Hunt Correctional Facility since September 2022, reports note. She has since been terminated. 

She faces charges of

“introduction of contraband into a correctional facility, possession with intent to distribute marijuana, possession with intent to distribute heroin, possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine, and malfeasance in office.”
