Selena Gomez Announces The Return Of The Wizards Of Waverly Place

Selena Gomez and David Henrie are preparing for the commencement of the Wizard of Waverly Place sequel. The actress confirmed the news on Instagram by posting an old picture of herself and Henrie from the Wizards of Waverly Place set and wrote, “We’re back.”

Henrie also reacted to the news on social media after Disney Channel teased it on Instagram.

Gomez will appear as a guest star, while Henrie will play Justin as a regular cast member. They are both in charge behind the scenes as executive producers, alongside Jed Elinoff and Scott Thomas, who are also behind another Disney Channel comedy spinoff, Raven’s Home.

According to Deadline, the show will continue after something mysterious happens at WizTech. Justin Russo, who is now an adult and living a normal life with his wife and two sons, has given up his wizard powers. However, a young wizard in need of training shows up unexpectedly, and Justin has to confront his past to protect the future of the wizarding world.

Additional cast members for the pilot include Janice LeAnn Brown, Alkaio Thiele, and Mimi Gianopulos. As of now, there has been no official word on whether Jake T. Austin (Max Russo), Jennifer Stone (Harper Finkle), Maria Canals-Barrera (Theresa Russo), and David DeLuise (Jerry Russo) will make a comeback. We will have to wait and see if they join the cast. Fingers crossed.
