Shogun, A Historical Japanese Drama Film

A sailor rose from the position of an outsider to a samurai and is used as a pawn in Toranaga’s struggle on the ruling chain.
The film will be told from the British-born hero John Blackthorne‘s perspective.

John and the remains of his crewmen arrived in Japan in the early time of political war in May 1600. John, who is referred to as

‘Anjin-san’

by the Japanese will be pushed into a cycle of inevitable peril of politics and rivals between Japanese Warlords, the Regency, the Catholic Church, and the Empires of Spain and Portugal.

A beautiful young lady helps John navigate his way through the treacherous water under the guise of a powerful man Yoshi Toranaga.

Shogun is an upcoming historical television series based on the 1975 novel of the same name by James Clavell, set to premiere on Hulu.

The film will feature Cosmo Jarvis, Hiroyuki Sanada, and Anna Sawai and is directed by Tim Van Patten.
