Netflix has announced that Squid Game Season 2 is set to be released in late 2024. Production started in July 2023 and is estimated to take nine months, which is a much shorter time compared to the previous season.

The returning cast includes Lee Jung-Jae, Lee Byeong-Heon, Wi Ha-jun, and Gong Yoo. The creator has also suggested that deceased characters may make a return, invoking beloved figures. Joining the group are new members Kang Ha-Neul, Yim Si-Wan, Park Sung-Hoon, and Yang Dong Geun.

The upcoming season will reveal the consequences of Seong Gi-Hun’s choice to stay in South Korea and explore the unknown circumstances behind the Squid Games and its organizers. As filming progresses, new developments are highly likely.

During the TUDUM event on June 17, 2023, Netflix unveiled a teaser for season four, offering a glimpse of intense games and a cast that feels absurdly familiar.
