The Suits Universe is expanding with a brand-new spin-off confirmed by the original creator, Aaron Korsh. The series captivated audiences with a diverse group of skilled lawyers navigating the challenges of New York City. According to Beatrice Springhorn, the President of Universal International Studios and UCP, “the spin-off series will have a similar energy to the original show, with a fun and happy tone set in the same time frame.”

The plot surrounding the new series has been kept relatively under wraps. According to Hollywood journalist Matthew Belloni in his recent Puck newsletter, the spin-off will be set at an entertainment law firm in Los Angeles (L.A.), and the casting process will soon begin at NBC.

Belloni also announced that the lead character in the spin-off show will be named Erica. Her character is described as a Black woman in her 30s, a native of Southern California, and a Harvard Law alumna striving to become the Head of Entertainment at her firm. She is great at closing clients, smarter than a whip, but struggles with her social circle.

UCP’s Beatrice Springhorn promised that the show’s energy will be high, featuring better-looking lawyers. “It’s so fun and happy,” a source recently disclosed to Variety. As Erica prepares to follow in the footsteps of Harvey Specter and Mike, we can’t wait to see what she brings to us from L.A.
