An elementary school principal, Karl Judd Waggoner, 59, from Arizona was apprehended for reportedly broadcasting online ads, inviting teenage girls to skinny-dip at his home. He is held on suspicion of luring a minor and remains in jail awaiting formal charges, per officials, reports PEOPLE. 

It is unclear if he has hired a lawyer. After a detective from the Pinal County Sheriff’s Office found an online ad on Craigslist, the investigation into Waggoner began. The ad invited teenage girls to a skinny-dipping party at his home in Scottsdale, Arizona.

According to Pinal County Sheriff Mark Lamb, a detective pretending to be a 14-year-old girl interacted with Waggoner. They allegedly had inappropriate conversations and discussed sexual acts. 

Mark Lamb, Pinal County Sheriff, told PEOPLE,

“Our detective found the ad last week… All through this holiday weekend, he [Waggoner] was posting online and soliciting for young girls. We decided to move on it Tuesday morning and we picked him up near the school.”

Lamb added,

“Our detective was very clear that he portrayed himself as a 14-year-old girl.” 

According to Sheriff Lamb, the undercover investigator communicated with Waggoner for six days before his arrest. Waggoner admitted to having the profile and being in communication with the investigator. Reports added that the sheriff’s office is working with Texas law enforcement to investigate any potential past wrongdoing, as Waggoner previously worked in Texas before relocating to Arizona to be closer to his family. 

Sally Marks, a representative from the Apache Junction Unified School District, informed PEOPLE that Waggoner was employed on July 18 and commenced his role at the elementary school on Aug. 7. As of now, Waggoner is on leave.

During a family gathering in Ferguson, Missouri, a 2-year-old accidentally shot himself with a sheriff’s deputy’s gun. The child wandered into a room where the incident occurred. The uncle, who is a St. Louis sheriff’s deputy, was apprehended on suspicion of endangering a child but was later released, per PEOPLE. 

The Ferguson police spokesperson, Pat Washington, stated that they intend to file charges on Thursday. PEOPLE has contacted the Ferguson Police Department for a statement.

Luckily, the minor is recovering from the shooting, which the police department disclosed in a Facebook post. 

The department wrote,

“GREAT NEWS….. We are happy to learn that the 2-year-old toddler injured in an accidental shooting recently is recovering well and may be home with family soon.”

“Thank you to Detective Numan and the officers on this case which serves as a tragic example of what can happen when guns are not properly secured in your household,”

the department added. 

The 2-year-old was accidentally shot in the abdomen, according to The Kansas City Star. The gun involved belonged to the child’s uncle, who is a St. Louis sheriff’s deputy. However, it is unclear if the gun was

“issued by the sheriff’s department,”

reports added. 

The department wrote in the Facebook post,

“In the wake of the distressing incident where a two-year-old child accidentally shot himself with an unsecured firearm, our community is reminded of the urgent necessity for stringent gun safety.” 

“Thankfully, the child survived, but the emotional scars of this event will linger. I implore every gun owner to confront the reality of this preventable tragedy and take immediate action to secure their firearms,”

the Ferguson Police Department’s statement added.

Two men, including a pastor from Victorville, California named Samuel Pasillas, have been apprehended in connection with

“an alleged murder-for-hire plot.”

The pastor is accused of paying nearly $40,000 to have his daughter’s boyfriend murdered. Investigators revealed that Pasillas released information about the boyfriend’s location on the night of the shooting, reports the Los Angeles Times. 

The 55-year-old hitman Juan Manuel Cebreros, along with others, monitored the victim for weeks. On Oct. 21, the victim was struck multiple times by a gunman in a vehicle next to him.

Luckily, the victim managed to drive himself to the hospital and has been discharged; however, is still recuperating from the gunshots. Pasillas, a pastor at a Spanish-speaking church in Victorville, was apprehended for allegedly conspiring and attempting to commit murder. He has pleaded not guilty to the charges, reports added. 

Pasillas and Cebreros are both in jail on $1 million bail. Cebreros is suspected of conspiracy to

“commit murder, attempted murder, and assault with a deadly weapon.”

Another person involved has not been arrested. The investigation is ongoing.

A woman from Texas is still missing after going for a walk with her dog, however, her dog, Max, has been found. Christina Johnson, 27, left her home on March 6 and hasn’t been located since, reports the Fort Worth Star-Telegram. 

Max, the dog, was discovered nine days later, approximately 7.5 miles northeast of their house, as reported by The AWARE Foundation, a non-profit organization that helps with missing person cases.

The woman’s father informed KPRC,

“I think him being out there on his own maybe eight days, so obviously he’s in a rough condition right now, but we are looking forward to getting him groomed… He’s not acting normal. He’s scared almost.”

He continued,

“Something ain’t right. Obviously, she’s in danger.”

Authorities are currently looking for a man who allegedly broke into a woman’s residence in East Harlem and sexually assaulted her on Sunday, officials say, according to WPIX. 

The NYPD is seeking 32-year-old Taylor Quamae in relation to an incident that occurred around 4:30 a.m. Quamae allegedly broke into the home of a 34-year-old victim and coerced her into having sexual intercourse before fleeing the scene, police reveal.

An investigation is underway in Kentucky after an 8-year-old boy passed away from consuming strawberries purchased from a school fundraiser. The Madisonville Police Department responded to a call about the boy’s respiratory distress and unresponsiveness at 6:30 a.m. on Friday, reports Fox News. 

According to the boy’s parents, he had consumed a number of strawberries from a high school fundraiser the previous night. As he started showing symptoms on Thursday, his parents administered Benadryl and gave him a bath.

As his illness got worst, the family sought medical help at a nearby emergency room on Thursday night but brought him back home later. The family contacted authorities after finding the boy unresponsive on Friday morning. The initial autopsy report from the Hopkins County Health Department concluded that the cause of death was an

“isolated allergic reaction.” 

The Director for the Hopkins County Health Department, Denise Beach, revealed,

“Dr. Christopher Kiefer, Medical Examiner, said the incident involving strawberries looks like an isolated allergic reaction.” 

“He relates that this is a preliminary report, so we still advise not eating the strawberries currently,”

he added. 

It is unclear whether the boy had any existing allergies to strawberries, as authorities have not provided any information regarding his medical history.

The health department revealed,

“Currently, the Department of Public Health Environmentalists are taking samples of the strawberries to the state lab for testing.”

A woman named Nadia Vitel, 52, was discovered unconscious and unresponsive in her Manhattan apartment. Her body was found inside a duffel bag during a welfare check by the police, according to the New York Post. 

Reports revealed that she was declared dead at her apartment. 

Concerned relatives contacted the authorities, prompting a welfare check. The cause of Nadia Vitel’s death is unclear and will be determined by the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner.

The police stated that they are still investigating and have not determined if any criminal activity is involved at this point.
