  • Mother Discovers Son Engaging In Sexual Activity With Teacher In Car After Utilizing Tracking App, Life 360, To Locate Him

Mother Discovers Son Engaging In Sexual Activity With Teacher In Car After Utilizing Tracking App, Life 360, To Locate Him

A mother in North Carolina utilized a well-known tracking app to uncover her son engaging in a sexual encounter with his high school teacher in a car, reports the NY Post

The parent, who remains unidentified, had installed the Life 360 app on her son’s device and grew suspicious when she received an alert about his absence from rugby practice. Instead of being at practice, the app indicated that he was lingering near a local park. The mother went to the location in Mecklenburg and allegedly discovered him in a compromising situation with Gabriela Cartaya-Neufeld, a 26-year-old teacher at South Mecklenburg High School, as reported by WSOC.

Shocked, the mother took several pictures of the teacher’s vehicle and license plate before contacting the authorities. Cartaya-Neufeld was arrested at the scene. The parent had already heard rumors about her son’s inappropriate relationship, which heightened her vigilance before the missed practice.

Prosecutors claimed that Cartaya-Neufeld engaged in sexual activities with the teenager in various locations, including her car, his mother’s home, and her own residence. The arrest came after months of rumors circulating within the school, prompting administrators to question both the student and the teacher.

Cartaya-Neufeld, who teaches science, now faces five felony counts of sexual activity with a student by a teacher. While she was initially taken to Mecklenburg County jail, she has since been released on bail.

The Life 360 app, which includes Randi Zuckerberg, sister of Mark Zuckerberg, as a board member, has gained popularity among

    “helicopter”

parents seeking to monitor their children. The technology can notify parents if the device holder is in a speeding vehicle or has left a predetermined area. With approximately 50 million active monthly users, Life 360 was projected to generate $300 million in earnings this year.

  • More Than Half Of Black Conventional Mortgage Applicants Denied By The Nation’s Largest Credit Union

More Than Half Of Black Conventional Mortgage Applicants Denied By The Nation’s Largest Credit Union

The Navy Federal Credit Union, the largest credit union in the US, has been found to have the widest disparity in mortgage approval rates between White and Black borrowers compared to other major lenders.

A recent analysis by CNN revealed that in 2022, Navy Federal approved over 75% of White borrowers who applied for a conventional home purchase mortgage, while less than 50% of Black borrowers were approved for the same type of loan.

Even when considering factors such as income and debt-to-income ratios, the approval gap between White and Black applicants remained significant. Shockingly, Navy Federal approved a higher percentage of applications from White borrowers with lower incomes compared to Black borrowers with higher incomes.

CNN’s deeper statistical analysis showed that Black applicants to Navy Federal were more than twice as likely to be denied than White applicants, even when all other variables were the same. This disparity persisted despite factors like income, debt-to-income ratio, property value, down payment percentage, and neighborhood characteristics.

Established in 1933 for Navy employees, Navy Federal now serves armed forces, DoD personnel, veterans, and their relatives. Despite over 13 million members and $165 billion in assets, the credit union rejected around 3,700 Black applicants for home purchase mortgages last year.

Furthermore, Navy Federal also approved Latino borrowers at significantly lower rates than their White counterparts, highlighting additional disparities within its lending practices.

Navy Federal spokesperson Bill Pearson issued a statement to CNN, standing by the credit union’s lending practices.

“Navy Federal Credit Union is committed to equal and equitable lending practices and strict adherence to all fair lending laws,”

    Pearson said.

“Employee training, fair lending statistical testing, third-party evaluations, and compliance reviews are embedded in our lending practices to ensure fairness across the board.”

  • Landlord Sentenced To Life In Prison After Hiding The Bodies Of His tenants He Claimed He killed In Self-Defense

Landlord Sentenced To Life In Prison After Hiding The Bodies Of His tenants He Claimed He killed In Self-Defense

A Michigan landlord is sentence to life in prison after a jury rejected his claim that he killed his two tenants in self-defense, reports FOX News.

Guilty of second-degree murder in Joseph Soule’s death and first-degree murder in Jaclyn Lepird’s, Chad Allen Reed, 56, faces life without parole and an additional 125 years.

On Oct. 7, 2020, an argument ensued between Reed and his tenants. Reed reportedly lived downstairs from the couple in his two-story house in Battle Creek.

According to Susan Mladenoff, Reed’s public defender, Lepird had a

    “bad temper,”

and the couple engaged in substance use together.

This was confirmed in court by medical examiners,’ who testified that the couple had cocaine and alcohol in their bloodstreams when they died.

Reed claims shot Soule after he pulled a knife out on him, strangling Lepird afterward due to fear of a witness.

“He not only shot her, he chased her down,”

Calhoun County Assistant Prosecuting Attorney Tamara L. Towns told jurors, FOX 17 reported.

“He hit her with a metal object. He tried to slit her throat. He then strangled her until a life went out of her.”

Consideration of various factors, including Reed’s treatment of victims, disrespect toward bodies, lack of remorse, and criminal history, influenced the judge’s decision.

As per court records, Reed previously had a 2005 felony assault conviction and pleaded no contest in 2003 to fourth-degree criminal sexual conduct.

Lepird’s sister Trinity McAllister expressed her gratitude towards the ruling.

“We were very pleased with the decision,”

she told FOX 17 in a statement after the sentencing.

Non-Verbal Man Fatally Attacked by Two Aggressive Pitbulls After Entering The Wrong House

A man was mauled to death by two pitbulls after mistakenly entering the wrong house, per the Daily Mail. The unfortunate incident occurred on October 4, when Antonio Shaw, 63, arrived at a residence located on North 62nd Street in West Philadelphia

As per police reports, two out of the five pitbulls present at the house viciously attacked him.

“These dogs was very vicious and hungry. These dogs were eating him like a piece of steak,”
