  • Concerns About Privacy and Overcrowding Prompt Gyms To Enforce Stricter Policies On Individuals Recording Themselves While Exercising

Concerns About Privacy and Overcrowding Prompt Gyms To Enforce Stricter Policies On Individuals Recording Themselves While Exercising

Gyms are beginning to crack down on fitness influencers who film themselves working out, reports Insider

Some establishments are now prohibiting the use of recording equipment. The main concerns are invasion of people’s privacy and overcrowding, as reported by The Observer. The well-known slogan of Planet Fitness says,

    “Judgement Free Zone,”

however, viral videos have circulated depicting individuals who appear to be inexperienced gym-goers attempting workouts that are perceived as comical.

Well, representatives from various prominent gym chains in the UK are putting a stop to filming gym content due to the potential hazards posed by filming equipment and the risks of bullying and unauthorized filming.

Erin Blakely, a fitness instructor with experience working with major gym businesses, told The Observer the

    “significant distraction”

caused by individuals recording their workouts on the gym floor.

“There’s a tendency to concentrate more on getting the ideal footage than on the workout, which defeats the whole purpose of being in a fitness studio,”

    she said.

A spokesperson for PureGym, which has more than 500 gyms across Europe, also told the outlet that its

“gym rules clearly state that people should not take photographs or videos on the premises unless they have permission. We also ask people to not post remarks or imagery to the internet, including social media platforms, that may identify another person.”

Gym etiquette has become a widely debated issue, especially when it comes to filming others, without permission, during their workouts. These incidents have gained attention thanks to TikToker Joey Swoll, who aims to expose inappropriate behavior at the gym. While some incidents are clearly wrong, Swoll also criticizes those who unjustly condemn others.

  • Florida Man Allegedly Hires Hitmen To Silence Teen He Sexually Assaulted

Florida Man Allegedly Hires Hitmen To Silence Teen He Sexually Assaulted

Four individuals are facing serious charges in connection to a murder-for-hire plot that resulted in the death of a teenage girl in Florida, per Fox News.

The victim, Isabella Scavelli, had reported a sexual assault to the police before she was shot and killed at her home. It is alleged that the suspect, Lenard White hired two men, Sheldon Robinson and Keshawn Woods, to carry out the murder because Scavelli had spoken out after he assaulted her. The mother of Scavelli was also severely injured during the barrage of gunfire.

According to law enforcement, Robinson even posted an ad on social media seeking help for the job, offering money and drugs as payment.

Sheriff Al Nienhuis, of the HCSO, said ammunition matching the gun used in the crime was later found in the backyard of Robinson’s home. All three individuals involved have been arrested and charged with various crimes including conspiracy to commit murder for hire, murder for hire, and discharge of a firearm during a crime of violence, officials said.

Additionally, Robinson’s mother, Janet Williams, has been charged with providing false statements to authorities. If convicted, the perpetrators may face life in prison or the death penalty, while Williams could be sentenced to up to five years in federal prison.

Nienhuis praised the young girl and expressed his sorrow for her tragic death.

“She was a good kid with a very bright future and to see her life cut short is heart-wrenching to say the least. Words cannot even express it,”

    he said.

  • FDA Looks To Ban Risky Food Additive Called BVO, Says It’s ‘No Longer Considered Safe’

FDA Looks To Ban Risky Food Additive Called BVO, Says It’s ‘No Longer Considered Safe’

The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) is considering banning a certain ingredient called brominated vegetable oil (BVO) from our food, reports the NY Post. In a recent statement, the FDA expressed concerns about the safety of BVO, citing studies conducted with the National Institutes of Health (NIH) that found potential health risks.

BVO was previously used in popular drinks like Gatorade, Coca-Cola, and Pepsi, but it can still be found in beverages like Sun Drop and some off-brand sodas. However, the FDA has now received conclusive scientific evidence from toxicology reports supporting their proposal to remove BVO from our food.

The FDA first questioned the safety of BVO way back in 1970 when they started regulating it. They determined that it was no longer

    “Generally Recognized as Safe”

(GRAS). Now, with the new evidence from the NIH studies, the FDA is taking action to protect human health.

“Health concerns about BVO stem from one of its ingredients, bromine. Bromine can irritate the skin, nose, mouth, and stomach,”

Katherine Zeratsky, a registered dietitian at the Mayo Clinic, told the Food Network.

“It’s also been linked to neurologic symptoms in people who drink large quantities of citrus soda — more than 2 liters a day.”

Last month, the governor of California signed a law that stops the sale of food with four chemicals, including BVO. This law will start on January 1, 2027, and manufacturers who break it could be fined up to $10,000.

These four ingredients, BVO, potassium bromate, propylparaben, and red dye No. 3 — are already banned in the European Union because they have been linked to cancer and other health problems. New York is also considering a similar law. The FDA said it will look into the safety of these ingredients and will make sure there are no inconsistencies across the country.

  • Mother and Son Charged With The Alleged Rape and Abortion Of 15-Year-Old Girl, Victim Claims It Was Consensual

Mother and Son Charged With The Alleged Rape and Abortion Of 15-Year-Old Girl, Victim Claims It Was Consensual

An 18-year-old boy and his mother from Idaho have been arrested for allegedly kidnapping and raping a 15-year-old girl, reports the NY Post. The girl was taken across state lines to receive an abortion without her parents’ consent.

Kadyn Swainston is facing charges of kidnapping, rape, and producing sexually explicit material involving a child, while his mother, Rachael Swainston, 42, is facing charges of kidnapping, trafficking methamphetamine, possession of fentanyl and psychedelic mushrooms, and harboring a wanted felon.

The investigation began when the girl’s mother reported the incident to the police. However, during a later interview at the child advocacy center,  the girl claimed that her relationship with Kadyn was consensual and that they had been having sex since he was 17. She revealed that Kadyn wanted her to terminate the pregnancy and threatened to break up with her and withhold child support. Rachael Swainston rented a car and accompanied the couple to an Oregon clinic, where the abortion was performed.

Although Idaho has a law prohibiting adults from helping minors obtain abortions without parental consent, neither Kadyn nor his mother have been charged under this law. Phone records and evidence found on the girl’s phone confirmed the trip to Oregon, and both Kadyn and Rachael admitted to their involvement, although Rachael claimed it was a collective decision.

Law enforcement officers carried out a search warrant to their home and discovered methamphetamine in Rachael’s bedroom. A man staying in their storage shed was also arrested on a felony warrant related to meth trafficking.

The mother and son are scheduled to appear in court for a preliminary hearing, and if convicted, Rachael could face meth trafficking charges while Kadyn faces rape charges, both carrying potential life sentences.

Ohio Social Worker Accused Of Having Sexual Relationship With Teen, Visited His Home Armed and Made Threats To Kill Both His Mother and Herself

A former social worker in Ohio is facing disturbing allegations after being accused of engaging in sexual activity with a 13-year-old boy, reports Radar Online. The woman took her actions to a new extreme by showing up at the victim’s house with a gun and threatening to kill both the child’s mother and herself.

The accused, 24-year-old Payton Shires, had been assigned to provide mental health counseling to the teenager. However, Shires was providing more than just counseling, admittedly having sex

    “multiple times”

with the 13-year-old. She was arrested and charged with sexual conduct with a minor.

Payton was released on a $50,000 bond. However, she wasted no time violating the conditions of her release by visiting the victim’s home. When police arrived, they found Shires sitting on the porch with a gun pointed at her head. Court documents revealed that she expressed her desire to kill the mother and herself,

“because she and the victim ruined her life and took everything from her.”

Although the victim’s mother wasn’t present during the incident, she spotted Shires on her doorbell camera and immediately alerted the authorities. Shires now faces additional charges and is being held in jail. Her bond has been increased to $100,000.

  • Hawaii Couple Caught Living With The Identities Of Deceased Infants For Decades, Now Face Conviction

Hawaii Couple Caught Living With The Identities Of Deceased Infants For Decades, Now Face Conviction

A Hawaii couple has been found guilty of conspiracy, passport fraud, and identity theft after living under the names of deceased infants for several decades, police say per Fox News

The suspects, Bobby Fort and Julie Montague, appeared in court to receive the verdict on Monday. However, according to Assistant U.S. Attorney Tom Muehleck, the real Bobby Fort had passed away more than 50 years ago as an infant with a short-lived life due to illness. Tonda Montague Ferguson, a witness in the trial, testified that her sister, Julie Montague, had also died as an infant with birth defects shortly after birth in 1968. Both infants were buried in separate Texas cemeteries.

The couple, who had attended the same high school in Texas, had allegedly planned to change their identities due to their overwhelming debt. The husband even went as far as using his false identity to join the Coast Guard, prosecutors said.

The sentencing, scheduled for March, could result in a maximum prison term of 10 years for false passport applications, up to five years for conspiracy, and mandatory consecutive terms of two years for aggravated identity theft, reports note.

  • Lawsuit Filed Against Funeral Home For Allegedly Providing Families With Fake Ashes

Lawsuit Filed Against Funeral Home For Allegedly Providing Families With Fake Ashes

A man has taken legal action against a funeral home, accusing them of providing families with fake ashes, while the real remains of their loved ones were left to decay in the building, reports Law and Crime

“In death, these men and women deserved to be treated with respect and dignity,”

plaintiff attorney Andrew Swan said per the Associated Press.

    “Instead, they were defiled.”

The Colorado Bureau of Investigation has discovered that there are at least 189 deceased individuals inappropriately stored at a building owned by Return to Nature. As they continue their investigation and make efforts to identify the victims, the number of deceased individuals may vary.

Richard Law filed a lawsuit against a funeral home owned by Jon and Carie Hallford. He had entrusted his father, Roger Law, to the funeral home for cremation in 2020. The funeral home gave Richard what they claimed to be Roger’s ashes. However, it is now alleged that Roger’s body was among the bodies discovered in the funeral home building.

The lawsuit is a class action, and other families have come forward expressing doubts about the ashes they received from the funeral home too.

“It looked very, very similar, the consistency and everything,”

one of the relatives, Tanya Wilson told KDRO.

“Then when it dried, it dried into little tiny rocks, very, very similar. It gave me confirmation that I believe it’s concrete.”

Richard Law handed over the supposed ashes to the FBI who are authenticating the substance.

Florida Man’s Alleged Plot To Incriminate His Ex-wife’s New Boyfriend Backfires, Resulting In His Own Arrest

A man in Florida is facing charges after attempting to falsely incriminate his ex-wife’s new partner, according to authorities per Law and Crime

Rishil Bisnath, 44, has been accused of making a false report of a nonexistent crime and obstructing an officer without violence, as revealed by records from Palm Beach County court and jail. The root cause of this incident seems to be a dispute over child custody. On Tuesday, Bisnath contacted the sheriff’s office to report a threat against him, as detailed in a probable cause affidavit obtained by Law&Crime.

“Upon arrival, Bisnath presented me with two messages that he stated were sent from his phone to his iPad,”

    the affidavit reads.

“Bisnath presented a message that read, ‘I will kill your kids before they turn old.’ After reading the concerning message, I questioned the origins of the text. Bisnath stated [the texts] came from his ex-wife’s new boyfriend.”

He reportedly failed to stick to that story for very long.

“After talking with Bisnath, it was revealed that Bisnath actually created the threatening message and texted to himself in hopes of getting law enforcement to go to his ex-wife’s residence,”

    the affidavit reads.

Following his confession, deputies attempted to arrest Bisnath however, he reportedly tried resisting deputies saying,

“You can’t take me to jail”

    while attempting to break free.

“I assisted Bisnath to the ground, where he then placed his hands under his stomach in an attempt to further resist his detainment,”

the deputy wrote in the probable cause affidavit.

He was taken into custody and released from jail the following day. His arraignment is scheduled to take place on November 30th.

  • Police Discover Teenage Thief Partying In ‘Machinegun’ Airbnb With Concealed Firearms Throughout Property

Police Discover Teenage Thief Partying In ‘Machinegun’ Airbnb With Concealed Firearms Throughout Property

A 17-year-old suspect accused of stealing credit cards was apprehended during a wild birthday celebration at an Airbnb, reports the NY Post

Authorities traced the stolen credit cards back to a Shoreview, Minnesota resident.

Police discovered eleven guns hidden in the Airbnb property. The guns were concealed in places like food wrappers, board game boxes, empty McDonald’s bags, and even within unfinished walls, plants, and furniture.

The suspect had multiple violations of the rental agreement, including exceeding the occupancy limit, breaking rules against weapons and smoking, and posting social media pictures of the event.

The owner was informed by the police, and over 50 attendees, aged 15 to 21, were escorted out of the premises for weapon searches.

An investigation is currently underway to determine who is responsible for stashing the firearms at the property.

“This is especially concerning because several of the party attendees are part of a ‘group’ that has enemies – or as they call them, ‘opps,’”

Ramsey County Undersheriff Mike Martin said in a Facebook post.

According to an update from the Ramsey County Sheriff’s Office, the suspected credit card thief

“went from five-star Airbnb accommodations to the county jail.”

Whether the minors involved will be tried as adults remains uncertain.

“The best part is we got 11 guns off the street that won’t shoot somebody, kill somebody you know, or be used for robbery or anything else,”

    Martin told Law & Crime.

  • Teen Confesses To Unexpectedly Punching Random Individuals At A Texas Park To Go Viral On Social Media

Teen Confesses To Unexpectedly Punching Random Individuals At A Texas Park To Go Viral On Social Media

Alford Lewis, a 19-year-old from Texas, has confessed to engaging in unprovoked attacks on innocent individuals in public places, all in a bid to gain attention on social media, per the NY Post

Lewis stated that he deeply regrets his actions and acknowledges that he made a grave error in judgment. Following the release of a disturbing video capturing Lewis assaulting at least two people as they enjoyed their time at Wortham Park in Houston, the Harris County Sheriff’s Office initiated an investigation into these violent incidents.

The video quickly spread on social media platforms and the neighborhood watch app Nextdoor, prompting outrage and concern among regular park-goers who demanded swift action against the perpetrator. Lewis has since come forward to apologize for his offenses.

“You know, I just made a mistake and everybody makes mistakes,”

    he told the local outlet.

“I really didn’t expect for it to go so left, you know,”

    he said.

In the now-viral video, none of the victims appear to retaliate or defend themselves against the teenager’s attacks, instead appearing startled by the sudden hit. Lewis has emphasized that the video only captures the negative aspect of his actions and fails to depict the aftermath.

“What people don’t see is that I shook his hand after and gave the man a hug,”

    he claimed.

It is unclear if any charges were brought against the teen however, Lewis did leave advice for other young people who plan on going out to do something they’ll regret.

“Before you go out and do anything you feel is bad, or that could look bad, make sure, like, people know – or just don’t do it at all,”

    he said.
