  • Father Accused Of Shooting 10-Year-Old Son In Front Of Family Home On Thanksgiving Day

Father Accused Of Shooting 10-Year-Old Son In Front Of Family Home On Thanksgiving Day

Nebraska father arrested for allegedly shooting and killing his 10-year-old son on Thanksgiving Day, Law & Crime reported.

Police responded to a call about a shooting outside their family home, where Kendrick McDonald was found with a gunshot wound and later pronounced dead. Will McDonald, the boy’s father, was taken into custody and charged with criminal homicide, use of a weapon gun, and possession of a firearm by a prohibited person.

According to the Omaha World-Herald, investigators suspect that McDonald may have fatally shot his son due to a mistaken belief that an intruder was attempting to steal his car. Evidence at the scene supports this theory. Responding officers were informed that the car alarm had been activated shortly before the shooting occurred.

Omaha Police Capt. Jeremy Christensen told the newspaper,

“We do know that there was allegedly a car alarm going off, and for whatever reason, the suspect/father went outside to maybe investigate that. We’re not 100% on that, but we are receiving information that a car alarm was going off. As to exactly what transpired and the why of it, we’re still trying to piece that together through our investigation.”

According to reports, the police were unable to verify if Kendrick’s mother was present at the time of his death. However, authorities confirmed that there were other children present during the incident. When investigators were asked about their belief regarding McDonald mistaking his son for a car thief, Christensen said detectives were

“still trying to figure out the ins and outs of that through the investigation.”

“At this point in time, it doesn’t appear that he was justified in firing,”

Douglas County Attorney Don Kleine told the World-Herald.

Investigators found a handgun at the scene of the shooting, which is believed to have been used in the incident. According to court records reviewed by Law&Crime, McDonald was prohibited from having a firearm due to being a convicted felon. He had served five years in prison for a robbery conviction.

  • NJ College Receives Backlash As Trans Swimmer, Meghan Cortez-Fields, Shatters Women’s Record

NJ College Receives Backlash As Trans Swimmer, Meghan Cortez-Fields, Shatters Women’s Record

Ramapo College of New Jersey is facing backlash as a transgender swimmer, Meghan Cortez-Fields, shattered a women’s school record after previously competing on the men’s team for three years, reports the NY Post

During a recent meet in Pennsylvania, Cortez-Fields won first place in the 100-yard butterfly, clocking in at 57.22 seconds, outdoing the previous record set in 2017. The senior from College Station, Texas, also secured victory in the 200-yard individual medley at the Cougar Splash hosted by Misericordia University. While the college initially celebrated Cortez-Fields’ achievement on Instagram, they promptly deleted the post amid backlash from critics.

Riley Gaines, a former collegiate swimmer-turned-activist, criticized Cortez-Fields’ transition to the women’s team, claiming she went from being a

    “below-average male swimmer”

    to a

    “record breaker”

    against female competitors.

“Those who choose to remain blind to the injustice of allowing mediocre male athletes to become record-breaking female athletes are either incompetent or misogynists. There is no in between anymore,”

Gaines added in an interview with Fox News.

Ramapo College, however, came to Cortez-Fields defense, saying the school follows NCAA‘s protocols and that it

“supports all of our student athletes.”

“There are strict measures that the NCAA makes trans athletes go through. You have to meet certain criteria to show that you are able to, as a trans athlete, compete with women,”

    a spokeswoman said.

“We are an affiliate member of the NCAA. We are in compliance. We have done everything the NCAA says needs to be done regarding trans athletes competing on the team. All of the steps were taken, and documentation was provided for approval of Meghan’s participation.”

Ramapo’s swimmer faces a similar controversy as the University of Pennsylvania’s Lia Thomas’ who also received hate following her success last year. She too emerged victorious in swim meets after participating on the men’s team for three years.

  • Woman Arrested After Using Detergent To Blind ‘Sugar Daddy’ Who Denied Her $2000

Woman Arrested After Using Detergent To Blind ‘Sugar Daddy’ Who Denied Her $2000

Kaley Renae Medina, 26, is accused of showing up unannounced at the residence of a 61-year-old man, commonly referred to as a

    “sugar daddy,”

in the middle of the night. Authorities claim that she requested $2,000 from him and, when he refused, she allegedly used detergent to blind him, per Law and Crime

These details were revealed by Bexar County Sheriff Javier Salazar, who stated that the pair had initially connected on the website SeekingArrangement.com.

“What it appears to be is one of these — for lack of a better term — ‘sugar daddy’ type sites where people with money meet up with younger people that need money and make some sort of an arrangement to date or what have you,”

    he said.

The man had gone out on a date with Medina earlier this month but had no intentions of seeing her again. However, Tuesday at around 2:30 a.m. Medina showed up at his doorstep and he proceeded to let her in.

According to documents, they engaged in conversation and shared a drink, but things took a turn when Medina asked for $2,000. When the man refused, Medina allegedly became enraged and proceeded to destroy various items in his home, including a mounted flat-screen TV, an entertainment center, and a painting. She then poured laundry detergent on his head, causing burns and temporary blindness.

Medina also stole several items, such as his passport, iPhone, surveillance camera, and a Dyson hair dryer. The man managed to crawl out of his house, seeking assistance while suffering from cuts on his legs and chemical burns to his eyes.

Bexar County Sheriff Javier Salazar mentioned that Medina had a previous criminal history, including a DWI charge. Medina was charged with robbery and is being held on a $20,000 bond, according to online records.

  • Live Fly Found Inside Missouri Man’s Intestines During Routine Colonoscopy, Doctors Say

Live Fly Found Inside Missouri Man’s Intestines During Routine Colonoscopy, Doctors Say

Doctors in Missouri were shocked when they discovered a live fly buzzing around a 63-year-old man’s intestines. The encounter took place during a routine colon cancer screening, where a camera was inserted into the patient’s intestines, known as a colonoscopy, per the Daily Mail.

According to the doctors, everything seemed normal during the procedure until they reached the

    “transverse colon,”

the upper part of the large intestine, where they made the startling discovery of a fully intact fly. The medical experts called it a

    “mystery”

as they tried to determine how the insect ended up in such an unusual location. One explanation they gave was that the patient could have eaten contaminated lettuce the day before his appointment.

The patient was questioned, but claimed to have no idea how the insect made its way into his colon. Fortunately, he experienced no symptoms that would suggest a fly was living inside his body. The patient told doctors that he had strictly followed the required instructions of a clear liquid diet on the day before his colonoscopy, which is meant to cleanse the intestinal tract.

However, the evening before his 24-hour fast, he had consumed a pizza and lettuce, but he denied any recollection of a fly being near his food.

Flies and their larvae can invade the human intestine in a condition called intestinal myiasis, reports reveal. These eggs can withstand the acid in the stomach and then infest the intestines, where they grow and potentially change into adult flies. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), some affected individuals do not experience any symptoms, while others may suffer from stomach pain, vomiting, and diarrhea.

It remains unclear what specific food the man consumed that was infested with fly larvae.
