A Pennsylvania politician who advocated for

“parental rights”

in education is facing charges after allegedly assaulting a teenager during a boozy affair she hosted for her underage daughter’s birthday, Law & Crime reported.

Clarice Schillinger, 36, is accused of assault, harassment, and providing alcohol to a minor, as stated in court records. The incident reportedly occurred during a basement birthday party for Schillinger’s 17-year-old daughter in September. Police responded to a call at around 3 a.m. on September 30th at Schillinger’s residence which she had been renting since early 2023.

According to a probable cause affidavit, approximately 15-20 minors between the ages of 15 and 18 were at the party, which had started around 10 p.m. the previous night.

“In the basement was a bar area that was stocked with alcoholic beverages to include New Amsterdam vodka and Malibu Bay Breeze rum,”

the affidavit says.

“Schillinger not only provided the alcoholic beverages, but poured shots and drank along with the minors, even participating in drinking games.”

One of the party-going teenagers reported that an altercation between the adults occurred in the early hours.

“Schillinger’s intoxicated boyfriend (Shan Wilson) had punched a 15-year-old juvenile (identified as E.G.) in the face, causing her to escort her boyfriend upstairs to the second floor,”

a teen identified by the initials A.M. told police.

The teens began to gradually leave the party when another altercation broke out with Schillinger’s mother, who reportedly punched A.M., a teenager, in the eye and chased him around a kitchen island before assaulting a 17-year-old girl, police say. The violence was captured on several cell phone videos.

“While multiple minors were gathering by the front door to leave the property in defiance of Schillinger’s order to stay,”

a teen was

“assaulted by Clarice when she punched him three times on the left side of his face/chin area,”

the affidavit says.

According to the affidavit, this isn’t the first underage drinking party Schillinger has had.

Schillinger, a member of the Republican party, made an unsuccessful bid for the position of lieutenant governor in the Keystone State. Unfortunately, she came in fourth place in the primary election. Her lawyer said in a statement,

“Ms. Schillinger has dedicated her life to public service…”

and

“has always been a law abiding citizen.”
