It’s been 28 years since the release of Friday, and the cast of Friday has gone on to do great things. Here are some characters and their recent activities:
1. Ice Cube, played Craig Jones, the main protagonist of the Friday series, has had a successful movie and music career. He is also the co-founder of the Big 3 basketball league.
2. Chris Tucker, played the character Smokey, a rising comedy star but got his big break when he landed the role of Smokey. He went on to star in the Rush Hour series and a plethora of other movies including, The Fifth Element, Money Talks, and Dead Presidents.
3. Nia Long, who played the role of Debbie, has been featured in various TV shows and movies including The Best Man, Empire, and many more following her role in Friday.
4. Regina King, who played the role of Dana Jones, Craig’s sister, has also had a successful acting career. After her role in the hit movie, she went on to has win multiple awards, including an Academy Award. She has also expanded her career in pursuit of directing. Her directing journey has allowed her to partake in and direct multiple shows and tv series.
5. Angel Means, who played Felisha went on to star in various TV shows, including The Wood and Baby Boy. Since her role as Felicia, the term
“Bye Felicia”
has been widely used, and many fans still attach her to the role today. In fact, she revealed that she still receives backlash for the role.
During an interview with Comedy Hype, the actress revealed,
“People come at me, even to this day, I’ll see people saying, you know, ‘Bye you dirty bitch,’ ‘You fucked up bitch,’ ‘You dumb bitch.’”
“Not one time, not even the mother said, ‘Hey, um, Felicia. I wonder what’s going on with her.’ Not one person,”
she continued.
6. Tommy Lister Jr, who played the part of Deebo, the neighborhood bully, has appeared in numerous films but sadly passed away in 2020.
7. Bernie Mac played the role of Pastor Clever, a pastor in the neighborhood, and John Witherspoon played the role of Willie Jones Craig and Dana’s father both passed away. However, their impact on the film industry will never be forgotten as they went on to leave their footprint in the entertainment world.
