Tyler Perry has had his hands in the Sister Act 3 for some years, and so has Whoopi Goldberg. In 2018, Goldberg teased fans when she dropped the bombshell that a third part of her iconic Sister Act would feature Tiffany Haddish as the third sister. Recently, Perry gave his word on how far the project has come, adding that all hands are on deck.

While the movie will certainly maintain its alluring theme, the project will be completed with new producers and actresses. Apart from Tiffany, Keke Palmer may also be involved, and Tyler is now leading as director. When speaking about the project, the prolific filmmaker told ET Online’s correspondent:

“I’m a little annoyed with how long this has taken me. It’s taking so long like I’ve done four movies since we started talking about this. When I’m outside producing with — you know, Disney’s a huge, wonderful company, but I really want to get this movie and Whoopi really wants to get this movie.”

In an earlier interview with ETOnline, Whoopi fueled fans with hope for Sister Act 3. Even though she refused to share a time frame, the veteran actress said,

“It’s coming. We gotta shoot it, but it’s happening… You’re never fully happy with a script because one of the things you find is you wanna have the space to make an adjustment if you need to. Sometimes what looks right on paper doesn’t come out of your mouth the right way. You have to move it around a little bit but I’m very hopeful people will be happy.”

Tyler seemingly backed up Whoopi’s claim when he said:

“[We got] a great story we’re working on that Whoopi’s excited about, I’m excited about, the director’s excited about, [and] so Disney’s excited about,” he adds. “So we’re working on getting that done. Once that’s done, we’re rolling!”
