1. Danny Glover as Mister in “The Color Purple” (1985):

In this movie, Mister (Glover’s character) was depicts an abusive man who is oppressive to the women. Viewers might have found the character unacceptable because he was brutal towards people.

2. Richard T. Jones stars as Mike in “Why Did I Get Married?”(2007):

In characterization of Jones through Mike, he portrays him as an unfaithful and disrespectful spouse. Many viewers loathed him on account of how much pain he caused his spouse, by being unfaithful.

3. Steve Harris as Charles McCarter in “Diary of a Mad Black Woman” (2005): Charles exhibits verbal and emotional abuse as well as manipulation on his wife. The character was unconventional because he did not care for his wife nor did he show any sort of empathy towards others. As a result, some viewers did not like him because he appeared to be insensitive and harsh to other characters in the movie.

4. Blair Underwood as Carlos in “Madea’s Family Reunion” (2006):

Carlos’s character is aggressive, physical, and a mental abuser of his fiancée. The character might have also repelled some viewers since he was violent or treated his fiancé viciously.

5. Michael Ealy as Carter Duncan in “The Perfect Guy” (2015): It describes Carter’s character as a stalker and a manipulator and appears nice and sweet. Some viewers might not have liked the character because of his dangerous and unpredictable behaviors.

6. Terrence Howard as Trumpy in “Idlewild” (2006): The movie depicts Trumpy as a thug and gangster characterized by corruption. The character is viewed as a villain due to crimes he committed which negatively impacted the plot.
