Virginia Woman Arrested For Allegedly Swinging Medieval Sword At Police Officer and Neighbor

A woman in Virginia, identified as Alexandra C. Hopkins, is facing charges after reportedly wielding a medieval sword at a police officer and a neighbor, per Fox News.

A woman in Virginia, identified as Alexandra C. Hopkins, is facing charges after reportedly wielding a medieval sword at a police officer and a neighbor, per Fox News. The incident took place on February 8 in the 800 block of Edwards Ferry Road in Leesburg.

According to the Leesburg Police Department, officers responded to the location to serve a warrant to Hopkins. When the officers came face to face with her she allegedly swung the over 1.5-foot-long sword at one of the officers before fleeing into a nearby residence. Police later apprehended Hopkins. A neighbor also reported that Hopkins had swung the sword at them, but fortunately, no injuries were reported in either incident.

Hopkins has been charged with assault on law enforcement, assault, and two counts of brandishing a weapon. In addition, she has unrelated warrants from another agency. She is currently being held without bond.
