A woman’s wig, that was seen sticking out the trunk of her car, prompted police to investigate after concerned onlookers reported what they believed to be a kidnapping or murder, NY Post reported.

Police showed up at Toria Townsend’s residence in Massillon, Ohio on suspicion of kidnapping, only to discover that the 30-year-old had just thrown hair extensions in her trunk. The comedic moment was captured on Townsend’s doorbell and posted to TikTok.

“Oh my Jesus, that’s my weave!”

Towsend responded seemingly embarrassed.

Townsend told officers she was in a rush to a hair appointment and threw the wig in the trunk, forgetting that it was there. A disturbed bypasser took a photo of the hair hanging out the trunk, along with the license plate, and sent it to the police.

After reflecting on her ride home Townsend said it makes sense why she kept getting stares.

“People kept mugging me and giving my dirty looks. I’m like, ‘Why did everyone wake up on the wrong side of the bed?’”

Townsend told the outlet.
