Florida Rapper Arrested For Murder After Detailing Crime In His Music Video, Police Say

Police arrested a Florida rapper for murder after he detailed the crime in his song and made a music video bragging about it, Fox News reported.

La’Darion Chandler, 19, of Lakeland, is behind bars for the murder of 33-year-old John McGee who was shot and killed in December 2022. Chandler allegedly shot McGee in the back which he confirmed in his rap lyrics, followed by a music video that he promoted on his social media page, police told the outlet. According to authorities, the two had long-standing gang rivals.

Polk County Sheriff Grady Judd called Chandler a

    “stupid rapper”

at a press conference held on Thursday.

“He’s not much of a rapper. My rapper expert says he doesn’t sing well. He doesn’t move well. He’s just a terrible rapper. But, he’s a stupid rapper. He not only makes a rap video about shooting somebody, but he also admits to shooting the guy in the back. I’m a coward rapper, that’s what I am. Watch me shoot the guy in the back,”

Judd stated, adding that Chandler rapped about always carrying a gun and would shoot at his rivals.

“Let the message be loud and clear and all you gang bangers and gangsters and cool dudes and dudettes, understand we ripped this rapper, and he’s in the jail. We unwrapped him from coolness and wrapped him up in a jail cell,”

the sheriff said, adding that he wants Chandler in jail for the rest of his life. Chandler was charged with first-degree murder, and aggravated assault, along with additional charges for convicted delinquent in possession of a firearm. He is in the Polk County Jail with no bond, reports note.

Will Smith Opens Up About Being Spit on by White Actor While Filming ‘Emancipation’

Will Smith fought back tears as he recalled the moment a White actor had to spit on him during the filming of the movie ‘Emancipation,’ Fox News reported.

The actor accepted his Beacon Award at the 14th annual African American Film Critics Association (AAFCA) Awards on Wednesday night. He talked about the emotions he felt while embodying his character,

    “Whipped Peter,”

which was based on a real-life event of an escaped enslaved man who was pictured in 1863 with whip scars all over his back.

    Smith said,

“‘Emancipation’ was the most individual difficult film of my entire career… It’s really difficult to transport a modern mind to that time period. It’s difficult to imagine that, that level of inhumanity.”

Smith went on to detail the moment he was spat on.

“It was the second day of shooting and 110 degrees,”

    he said.

“I was in a scene with one of the White actors, and we had our lines, and the actor decided to ad-lib. So, we’re doing the scene. I did my line. He did his line. And then he ad-libbed and spit in the middle of my chest. If I had pearls on, I definitely would’ve clutched them. I wanted to say, ‘Antoineeeeee,’ but I stopped, and I realized that Peter (his character) couldn’t have called the director,”

    he explained.

“I sat there, and I took a deep breath, and we did take two, and the actor felt that the ad-lib had gone well. So, we do take two. I do my line. He does his line and spits in the middle of my chest again. I just held in that moment, and there was a part — it makes me teary right now — there was a part of me that was grateful that I got to really understand. And then, in the distance, I hear a voice, and Antoine says, ‘Hey, let’s do a take without the spit.’ And in that moment, I knew that God was real,”

    Smith related.

This is Smith’s first in-person Award show since the viral 2022 Oscars slap where he unexpectedly slapped Chris Rock while the comedian was presenting an Oscar during the ceremony. He has been banned from attending any Academy Award events for the next 10 years.

Edwards was reportedly in custody at the Fort Sanders Regional Medical Center where she was treated for constipation after complaining about feeling abdominal pain. She was discharged the next morning at around 7 a.m. but

    “refused to leave,”

    according to the outlet.

Hospital security called the Knoxville Police Department who arrived shortly after, arresting Edwards for trespassing.

In recently released body cam footage you can hear several officers taunting Edwards and accusing her of faking her illness.

one officer is heard saying, per the footage. When Edwards explains to the officers that she could not breathe and needed her inhaler one officer rummaged through her purse and pulled out a pack of cigarettes.

    “Do you want a cigarette?”,

Teacher ‘Forced’ and ‘Manipulated’ 5th Grader To Become Transgender, Causing The Student ‘Suicidal Ideation’, Lawsuit Says

Parents have filed a lawsuit against a New York teacher and the school district for allegedly attempting to

    “manipulate” and “force”

their 5th-grade daughter to change her gender without parental consent which caused the child

    “confusion” and “suicidal ideation,”

the lawsuit alleged per Fox News

Debra Rosenquist, a teacher at the Terryville Road Elementary School in the Brookhaven-Comsewogue School District, was named along with the superintendent, Jennifer J. Quinn, and the principal, Annemarie V. Sciove, in a suit filed on Jan. 23.

    The lawsuit claims that Rosenquist

    “targeted” and “harassed”

the young girl throughout the 2021-2022 school year, purposely calling the student by male names and pronouns, the suit said.

“As a result, [the student] became confused as to her gender. Despite knowing about Rosenquist’s conduct…, it took the District, [Superintendent] Quinn, and [Principal] Sciove months to inform [her parents] about it,”

the suit said. The lawsuit also alleged that

“Rosenquist pursued her own agenda outside the curriculum, which included persuading her 5th-grade students to try ‘being gay’ or being another gender even when they were not. To further her agenda, Rosenquist read and provided her student’s graphic books about gender and sexuality which were not on the curriculum.”

The 5th-grade girl who was born a female and identifies as female became so

“distressed by Rosenquist’s referring to her as a male that she drew a picture of a girl and referenced suicide,”

according to the lawsuit. In January 2022, the parents were notified that their daughter drew a picture of a girl with the words

    “I wanna kill myself”

    and

“I feel sad like a lot.”

Brookhaven-Comsewogue School District was reportedly informed of Rosenquist actions, as they were allegedly reported to the District. The Superintendent told the outlet that they are conducting a

“thorough investigation and consultation with our attorney, action is [being] taken in accordance with applicable laws and collective bargaining agreements. “

  • Tommy Hilfiger Credits Russell Simmons For His Impact On Streetwear Apparel In The 90s, ‘He said To Me, Street Kids and Rappers Wear My Clothes To Feel Rich’

Tommy Hilfiger Credits Russell Simmons For His Impact On Streetwear Apparel In The 90s, ‘He said To Me, Street Kids and Rappers Wear My Clothes To Feel Rich’

Tommy Hilfiger took his hat off to Russell Simmons who he credited for his rise amongst the hip-hop community throughout the 1990s.

The founder of the American luxury brand spoke with The Guardian in a featured piece about his impact on fashion where he thanked hip-hop legend Russell Simmons for his advice on incorporating hip-hop into his brand.

“It was actually Russell Simmons, who really is one of the godfathers of hip hop, who said to me that young street kids and rappers wanted to wear the clothes because they wanted to look rich,”

Hilfiger said. Simmons has had a huge impact on fashion and streetwear apparel himself with the launch of his brand Phat Farm in 1992. The brand was later expanded by his then-wife Kimora Lee Simmons, who developed a line for women called Baby Phat in 1999.

Although Tommy Hilfiger’s clothing was already highly regarded among the rich, it wasn’t until hip hop accepted his brand that his career soared to new heights, he admitted. He saw the demand for streetwear attire, baggy clothing, and hip-hop style and collaborated with artists such as Aaliyah and Snoop Dogg making him hip-hop’s new designer.

“They wanted everything way, way oversized because they were buying sizes that were way too large. And so I started just making oversized, and it was a perfect storm. I was dressing Puff Daddy for his tours. I was dressing Biggie Smalls. I was dressing Tupac,”

    he recalled.

Hilfiger has been accused in the past of making racist remarks on

    “The Oprah Winfrey Show”

where he allegedly said he didn’t make his clothes for Black, Jewish, or Asian people. Now Hilfiger has spoken out about the rumors against him.

“It was devastating that people would think that I would really think that way. And I think people who know me knew that it wasn’t true,”

he told the Guardian about the fabricated story.
