According to Deadline, there is a war for the highest bidder on Mattel’s live animation take on

“Bob The Builder,”

with considerations from Netflix, DreamWorks Animation, and Amazon MGM.

It’s reported that the offers have been set and currently, no one is circling for this animation picture, which highly influences the Latino and Hispanic communities.

The project has Jennifer Lopez‘s Nuyorican Production producing alongside ShadowMachine (the producers of Pinocchio) and Anthony Ramos. Sources confirmed that it was Ramos’s idea to make the film set in Puerto Rico, one that shows the strength of the Latino people and their culture.

The new story is set to feature a new version of Bob The Builder, following the life of Roberto, also known as Bob. In this exciting adventure, Bob travels to Puerto Rico to take on a massive construction job. Along the way, he encounters and addresses the challenges that the island faces, while also exploring the true essence of construction with his powerful catchphrase,

“Si se puede” (“Yes we can”).

The film centers on Bob, his friends, their construction colleagues, and a list of anthropomorphized construction vehicles, who tackle the responsibilities of building with their catchphrase,

“Can we fix it? Yes, we can!”
