Man Who Was Charged For DUI After Boat Crashed and Burst Into Flames Told Officials He

The boat captain whose vessel caught fire near Hart Island in the Bronx faces three charges for operating the boat while intoxicated. The incident occurred on the evening of Saturday, June 7, and resulted in injuries to almost two dozen riders.

Officials noticed that 33-year-old Joshua Brito had watery eyes and smelled strongly of alcohol. He admitted to driving the Carver 35 yacht and claimed he had only “one beer.” Brito said he “picked up a group at World Fair” and mentioned an alleged generator problem he had a couple of days earlier. Social media videos showed the boat engulfed in black smoke while floating in the Long Island Sound.

The NYPD’s Harbor Unit, Aviation, and Drone Team, along with the FDNY and EMS, responded to a yacht fire after 8 p.m. Three people were rescued from the water, while nineteen swam to Hart Island. The cause is unclear. However, Brito had a blood alcohol level of .05 and later pleaded not guilty.

Mother Reported Her 3-Year-Old Missing After Claiming She Was Abducted, But Now Officials Believe It Was A Lie

An Amber Alert for a missing 3-year-old girl has been canceled. Delaware officials are now treating the case as a homicide. Nola Dinkins was reported missing on June 10 by her mother, who is accused of giving inaccurate news to the officials during their initial investigation, per PEOPLE.

According to a statement, “Nola’s mother advised that she had pulled over after Nola became upset and was attempting to comfort her when an unknown White male armed with a handgun approached the vehicle and took Nola.”

Three Teen Girls Behind Bars for Allegedly Assaulting and Tasing 15-Year-Old in NYC Subway Station

Three 16-year-old girls assaulted a 15-year-old girl, stomping, beating, and even tasing her inside a subway station in Queens last week, according to prosecutors and sources cited by the NY Post.

The sophomore from William Cullen Bryant High School was on her way to the nearby 46th Street M and R train station around 3 p.m. on June 2 when the vicious group reportedly followed her. Queens DA Melinda Katz described the incident as

“an outrageous display of bullying and brutality.”

According to the DA’s office, the group of teens cornered the girl on the staircase, repeatedly punching, kicking, and stomping on her head, face, and body, tasing her in the process and attempting to steal her backpack. The victim was hospitalized following the attack but is now on the path to recovery, officials reported.

Two of the suspects, both juniors at the same school and residents of Elmhurst, were arrested and arraigned on Tuesday. They face charges of attempted gang assault and attempted robbery related to the incident, prosecutors stated. They have been placed in an intensive community monitoring program under probation supervision, according to the DA’s office.

Judge Bruna DiBiase has scheduled their next court appearance for June 18. The third 16-year-old suspect was arrested on Thursday. If convicted, they could face up to 15 years in prison.

“This will not be acceptable behavior here in Queens and I will hold students accountable for this behavior to the extent the law allows. We are grateful that the victim is recovering. The investigation is continuing into the conduct of other individuals,”

    Katz said in a statement.

Self-Proclaimed ‘Best-Friend’ of Barron Trump Boasts About Reporting Popular TikToker, Khabane Lame, to ICE

MAGA Gen-Z influencer Bo Loudon proudly claimed responsibility for the detention of TikTok’s most-followed creator, Khaby Lame, by Immigration and Customs Enforcement. He is now threatening to target other immigrants, according to a report by Huff Post.

“We don’t want celebrities using their status to abuse our system and take advantage of the things that we don’t have access to,”

Loudon, 18, said on Fox News.

“I can’t say I’m done with Khaby; if there’s other celebrities that are not in this country legally, I will investigate it and I will happily go after them as well.”

Lame, whose full name is Serigne Khabane Lame, is a 25-year-old Italian citizen originally from Senegal. He was detained on June 6 at Harry Reid International Airport in Las Vegas for immigration violations, an ICE spokesperson told HuffPost. ICE stated that Lame had exceeded the limits of his visa and chose to leave the U.S. voluntarily. The agency did not confirm any involvement from Loudon in Lame’s detention.

However, in an interview with Dylan Page, who goes by

    “News Daddy”

on TikTok, during Wednesday’s episode of Page’s podcast, the MAGA influencer admitted to having “reported” Lame as an

    “illegal alien.”

He mentioned that he learned about Lame’s visa overstay and

“called some buddies in the administration”

to quickly have the TikToker detained.

“I want to look out for the little guys, the people that follow our laws, respect our country, appreciate it and its values and don’t abuse the system,”

Loudon said as his reason for doing so.

Lame gained fame in 2020 during the COVID-19 pandemic. Lame lived in Italy since he was 1, and became an Italian citizen in 2022. He attended the Met Gala in New York City, this year. However, Lame has expressed that he faced challenges in securing Italian citizenship due to the country’s regulations, and that his Senegalese passport complicated his efforts to obtain a U.S. visa.

  • Teacher Claims He Was Fired for Saying the N-Word While Reading ‘To Kill a Mockingbird’ to Students, Says it Was a ‘Teachable Moment’

Teacher Claims He Was Fired for Saying the N-Word While Reading ‘To Kill a Mockingbird’ to Students, Says it Was a ‘Teachable Moment’

A teacher in Washington state alleges that he was recently fired for reading a passage from “To Kill a Mockingbird” to his class without censoring the n-word, according to the NY Post.

Matthew Mastronardi, a Spanish teacher at West Valley High School in Spokane, was recorded reading a segment from the 1960 Harper Lee novel that addresses themes of racism and injustice in the Jim Crow-era South.

In a detailed post on X on Wednesday, the Spanish teacher explained that he only used the slur as a

“teachable moment about context and literary honesty in reading”

when he heard students saying they felt they

    “must ‘skip over the n-word.’”

    He added.

“I was astonished and expressed disagreement, saying, ‘That’s silly; it undermines the book’s historical context and disrespects the author’s intent to use accurate language.’”

“A girl asked me in front of the class, ‘Would you read the word?’ I replied, ‘Yes, I would read every word.’”

Unaware that he was being recorded, Mastronardi, who acknowledged feeling

    “nervous but committed,”

decided to read the passage aloud to his 30 students as a

    “teachable moment.”

Just days later, he received a verbal warning from the principal, followed by an ultimatum to either resign or risk having his contract not renewed. After refusing to step down, he was issued a notice of non-renewal.

The school has consistently maintained that the decision was not solely related to the book incident; however, Mastronardi claimed that officials refused to provide any additional explanations.

“There are no parent complaints, no documented disciplinary actions and I’ve passed every teaching evaluation,”

    he said.

  • ‘I Was Framed!’: British Mother of Three Faces Firing Squad in Bali Over £300,000 Cocaine Plot Involving Two Others

‘I Was Framed!’: British Mother of Three Faces Firing Squad in Bali Over £300,000 Cocaine Plot Involving Two Others

Lisa Stocker, 39, a mother-of-three from East Sussex, told a Denpasar court on Monday that she was wrongly accused of smuggling nearly a kilogram of cocaine into Bali, claiming she had been set up. “The packages were not mine… I was framed,” she said, referring to 17 packets disguised as Angel Delight dessert mix.

Stocker and her partner, Jon Collyer, were arrested on February 1 after arriving from the UK via Qatar. Bali’s Ngurah Rai Airport authorities flagged their luggage during a routine scan. Two days later, police arrested Phineas Float, 31, also from East Sussex, at a hotel where the drugs were allegedly delivered.

The arrest followed a sting operation in which Lisa Stocker and Collyer were used to lure Float. All three could face execution by firing squad if convicted.

Collyer testified he thought the parcels contained snacks sent by a UK acquaintance and said he paid for the trip himself. However, prosecutors allege the man gave him £2,130 for travel.

Float, previously rude in front of reporters, appeared calm in court, claiming he was unaware the contents were drugs. Per The Sun, the trial resumes June 17.

  • R. Kelly Seeks Prison Release, Asks for House Arrest After Alleged Murder Plot Against Him

    R. Kelly Seeks Prison Release, Asks for House Arrest After Alleged Murder Plot Against Him

R&B star R.Kelly is requesting house arrest, claiming his life is in danger due to a murder plot against him. Inmates and prison officials allegedly orchestrated the act. Currently serving a 31-year sentence for sex crimes, Kelly’s legal team filed an emergency motion for temporary release in federal court this week.

As reported by People, the filing includes a sworn statement from inmate Mikeal Glenn Stine. He alleges that three Bureau of Prisons (BOP) officials instructed him to kill Kelly while both were housed at the United States Penitentiary in Tucson, Arizona.

A self-identified member of the Aryan Brotherhood, Stine claimed he was told he could earn his freedom by carrying out the plot. He considered the offer due to his terminal cancer diagnosis.

Instead, Stine informed R. Kelly of the plan and is now willing to take a lie detector test to back up his claims. Kelly’s attorney, Beau Brindley, argued the singer faces imminent harm. He called his continued incarceration “cruel and unusual punishment,” urging federal intervention.

“These aren’t just allegations from Mr. R.Kelly; they come from individuals approached by government actors,” Brindley told People. He added that they plan to seek help from President Trump.

Massage Parlor Shut Down After Offering Sex to Undercover Cop

According to reports from KPRC 2 and the Houston Chronicle, two women were arrested on June 5 following an undercover operation at Essence Massage in Spring, Texas.

Deputies from Precinct 4 Constable Mark Herman’s Office launched the sting. This comes after receiving community complaints about suspicious activity at the 3400 block, FM 2920 location.

During the investigation, a detective posing as a customer was allegedly offered sexual services by an employee.

Authorities identified Han Meimei, who now faces a prostitution charge with a $100 bond. Yali Tong, the owner of Essence Massage parlor, was charged with promoting prostitution. Tong’s bond was set at $5,000.

Law enforcement continues to crack down on illicit activity at massage parlors across the Greater Houston area. This is because such businesses are often linked to broader criminal operations. Many reports of human trafficking have been associated with such companies.

This arrest follows recent regional efforts, highlighted by ABC13, to shut down similar operations suspected of engaging in illegal conduct under the guise of massage therapy.
