A man in New York City had his throat slashed after confronting another man who was urinating on a car, according to the police per the NY Post

The incident took place on Sunday evening at 404 East 14th Street. According to authorities, an unidentified individual was caught urinating on a car when an older man approached him to stop. The alleged urinator then pulled out a box cutter and viciously slashed the man’s neck, resulting in a

“serious injury with significant bleeding,”

reports state.

The suspect quickly fled the scene on foot, leaving the victim in critical condition. Emergency Medical Services (EMS) rushed the victim, identified as John Mach, a 54-year-old caretaker at Immaculate Conception Church according to The New York Post (despite the NYPD giving his age as 66), to Mount Sinai for immediate medical attention.

As of Tuesday, the suspect remains at large, and the investigation is ongoing. Authorities are actively working to apprehend the perpetrator and bring justice to the victim.
