A school teacher in Florida has been arrested for assaulting a kindergartener after surveillance footage caught her grabbing the child by the neck and forcefully throwing him to the ground, reports the NY Post

The incident took place at Margate Elementary School in Broward County on October 10, in front of other students and staff members. According to a police report obtained by WPLG, the teacher, Khadijah Tynnettta Muhammad, 54, targeted the child, who was not one of her students, after he threw a piece of paper at his classmates.

“She continued to lift him off the ground by his arms, twist his arms, and grabbed him by the back of his shirt while shoving him across the hallway,”

an officer wrote in the arrest report.

“She ripped the jacket off his back and continuously grabbed the student by his arms, wrists, shirt, and jacket until the altercation ended,”

cops said.

“Towards the end of the video, which was partially blocked from the camera view, she appeared to grab him around his neck and slam him to the ground.”

According to police, the entire assault lasted two minutes. After the incident, Khadijah Tynnettta Muhammad was arrested at her residence in Lauderdale Lakes and now faces charges of child abuse. Parents of students at Margate Elementary School expressed their outrage regarding these allegations, as reported by WPLG.

“I know our kids may act out at times, but if there’s a problem, leave the disciplining to the parents,”

parent, Nikki Glasco said.
