One night only theaters around the country will play this documentary celebrating the highs and the lows of Gaynor’s career path. This timeliness will also pay tribute to Gaynor’s influence on music during this Black History Month.

The legendary disco queen Gloria Gaynor and her famous song I Will Survive have moved many people. However, when Gaynor became 65 years old and experienced such issues as divorce, bankruptcy, and medical problems, she finally understood what it means referring to the words from her hit song. Gaynor decided not just to survive but to flourish and took her eight years of struggle to write and record a gospel album against all odds.

The film traces her battles with a determination of character and new dreams enlightening her steps as she navigates the hardships and finally makes it to fame. The documentary presents a message of empowerment to remind people that one should never give up on his or her dreams no matter how old she or he is. Gloria Gaynor: Reinvention, faith, and fabulousness in the second act are what the song I Will Survive is all about.

Besides her hit I Will Survive, Gaynor has always thought of doing a worship project. It was in 2019 that she had recorded 19 studio albums before finally achieving her dream by releasing

“Testimony”

A gospel release. At the beginning of this year, the album received a Grammy for the Best Roots Gospel Album during the 62nd annual Grammy Awards. Presently, among others, Gloria works together with Grammy winners who are famous for their songs like Taylor Swift, Miley Cyrus, etc. The new music is scheduled for release in 2024.

On February 13, 2024, Fathom Events, renowned for offering exclusive cinematic experiences, will host the nationwide theatrical release of

“Gloria Gaynor: “I Will Survive.” 

A special event where audiences will be privileged to see the life and times of a celebrated music icon in cinemascope.

“Gloria Gaynor is certainly a music legend, but just about few people are familiar with her real-life story and that should be retold,”

said Raymond H. Nutt, who serves as the chief executive officer for Faith-based Entertainment Productions, an affiliate division of Fathom events.
