Fans should note that their favorite comedian, Kevin Hart, may never be on an award show stage, and he has his reasons. The actor, who is embroiled in a lawsuit with his ex-assistant, says he does not consider the environment friendly enough.

Kevin Hart’s Confession About Award Shows

Variety reported Kevin’s interview on Skye News, where the host asked him about his time on award shows. The comedian emphasized that he was done with it. He shared:

“No absolutely not…Whatever little hope you had, I want to destroy it right now. No, not at all”

According to the 44-year-old, the hosting gigs are rather sensitive these days. Though Kevin said that it wasn’t a jibe at the Oscars or Golden Globes, he maintained that the good old days for comics were behind.

The onscreen star added:

“ I think they got it right one year where it was like just a bunch of personalities acting as the hosts and that’s a nice thing. It’s a collaborative thing, different people get to be responsible for act one, act two, act three, but you know, the days of it being a room for a comic, those days are done.”

As for the Central Intelligence actor, only a few hands have successfully hosted award shows, and sadly, the gigs prefer it stay that way. Kevin analyzed that younger comedians do not have that luxury because the room is usually “cold” to newcomers.

Kevin Hart Once Bailed Out of an Award Show To Respect His Views.

Kevin is far from being a mere talker, he is proud and tough. The comedian defended his views when he was in a fix to adhere to the rules of an award show. Having hosted the BET Awards, the MTV Video Music Award, and the MTV Movie Awards, he landed a bigger gig with the Oscars.

Unfortunately, it never happened. Following the contract, critics complained about the Oscars’ choice while citing Kevin’s former homophobic comments. The organizers asked him to apologize to continue with the gig, but the defiant comedian stood his ground and chose to forfeit the gig.
