Florida Police Arrest 11-Year-Old Boy For Falsely Reporting School Shooting Because He ‘Wanted To Go Home Early’

An 11-year-old in Florida was arrested for making a fake school shooting report to leave school early, reports Insider

According to the Marion County Sheriff’s Office, the boy used his friend’s unattended cell phone to call 911. The kid also expressed to his friend before making the call that he

    “wanted to go home early,”

    police said.

The police charged him with making false reports, using a communication device for a felony, disrupting a school function, and misusing the 911 system. It is unknown whether the boy has legal representation at this time.

    In a 911 audio released by police, the boy can be heard saying;

“Help, there is a school shooter walking through the hallway.”

During the call with the 911 operator, the boy identified himself as being in building two of Marion Oaks School before abruptly ending the call with a cryptic message. The entire audio recording lasted 43 seconds.

Upon receiving the call at 9:39 a.m. on December 5, the police swiftly responded to the school with a SWAT team, aviation unit, and K-9s, as stated in their official statement. Students and teachers were The evacuated while police conducted their search.

“This student put fear into his fellow students, staff, and parents,”

Marion County Sheriff Billy Woods said.

“For what? A prank? Because you wanted to go home?”

Under Florida law, individuals found guilty of making false reports are obligated to pay restitution for the cost of the law enforcement response.

“In this case, (it) will equal hundreds upon hundreds of man-hours,”

    Woods said.

“This young man is going to need to mow a lot of lawns to pay that bill.”

Florida Woman Arrested For Falsely Reporting A Burglary That Included Her Children’s Christmas Gifts Being Stolen In Failed ‘Grinch-like Plot’

A woman from Florida has been arrested after she falsely claimed that her children’s Christmas presents had been stolen, reports Fox News

The incident occurred in Lehigh Acres, Florida, when Shana Hudson, 39, called the authorities on November 19th to report a residential burglary. Hudson alleged that someone had broken into her home and taken several items, including the Christmas presents meant for her children, leaving them without gifts for the upcoming holidays.

In response to the report, detectives from the Lee County Sheriff’s Office launched an investigation. They also went above and beyond by coordinating a donation from the Lehigh Acres American Legion, as well as securing funds from the sheriff’s office’s Shop With a Cop program. Their goal was to surprise the family with new presents and ensure they had a joyful holiday season.

However, as the detectives looked deeper into the case, a tip received by Crime Stoppers helped uncover the truth. Investigators found evidence that proved Hudson had fabricated the burglary. The detectives later discovered the reported stolen items hidden at a relative’s house.

As a result, Hudson was arrested and the truth behind her

    “Grinch-like plot”

    was exposed.

“This pathetic behavior is unacceptable, especially given the circumstances this holiday season,”

Sheriff Carmine Marceno said in a statement.

“This woman took advantage of the system and is now paying the price for her selfish choices.”

She is charged with a fraud-false report to law enforcement.

Woman With Outstanding Warrants Arrested After Calling Police To Report A Theft Of $5 Worth Of Marijuana

A Florida woman was arrested after she called the police to report that her marijuana had been stolen, despite having two outstanding arrest warrants, reports the NY Post

Lily Rinker, 23, made the complaint in the early hours of last Thursday from a Best Western hotel in Stuart. According to a police report obtained by The Smoking Gun, Rinker claimed that a man named Carlos, whom she had recently met, had taken half a gram of weed from her hotel room. The stolen marijuana was valued at around $5 to $10, while Rinker had a larger stash worth $30 in her grinder, reports note.

“Rinker stated she did not know what to do so she decided to call the police,”

    a probable cause affidavit said.

The police later found out that the woman, who resides in Jupiter, had outstanding arrest warrants in Palm Beach County. According to the report, Rinker had been previously arrested for physically assaulting her father after he shared a photo of her holding a vape on social media. Additionally, a second warrant had been issued because Rinker failed to appear at a probation violation hearing following her conviction for driving under the influence earlier this year.

Although possessing marijuana is against the law in Florida, it remains uncertain if Rinker will face charges over the small amount, as it would typically be considered a misdemeanor offense.

  • Man Arrested After Saving Woman From Subway Mugging With Warning Shot, Police Say

Man Arrested After Saving Woman From Subway Mugging With Warning Shot, Police Say

A New York man has been arrested  for allegedly firing shots on a subway platform on Tuesday night, reports Fox News

The incident occurred when a 49-year-old homeless man attempted to mug a 40-year-old woman near the exit. The NYPD identified the suspect as 43-year-old John Rote and managed to apprehend him on Wednesday afternoon. Rote reportedly overheard the mugger, Matthew Roesch, demanding money from the woman.

To intervene, Rote fired shots, but fortunately, no one was injured. Surveillance images show Rote calmly leaving the scene with a tote bag, a green bookbag, and a tablet. He now faces multiple charges.

“I want to be clear: we don’t tolerate this kind of conduct in NYC Transit, period,”

the city’s top transit official, Richard Davey, said in a statement after Rote’s arrest.

“Once again cameras recorded a perpetrator, and we are grateful the NYPD made an arrest within hours. Thank goodness nobody was hurt here – but what occurred was outrageous, reckless, and unacceptable.”

Transit crime in the city has decreased by 3.6% this year, following a surge during the pandemic and George Floyd protests. However, compared to last year, crime rates are still 29% higher.

Some attacks have been brutal, with travelers being shoved in front of moving subway cars. Last month, Sabir Jones, a 39-year-old repeat offender with mental health issues, was arrested for pushing a woman into a departing train, causing life-threatening injuries. Over the past two years, 37 people, including Michelle Go at Times Square station, have been pushed onto subway tracks, according to FOX 5 New York.

  • Man Who Received Services From The Salvation Army Accused Of Setting The Building On Fire After Claims Of Feeling Mistreated By Staff

Man Who Received Services From The Salvation Army Accused Of Setting The Building On Fire After Claims Of Feeling Mistreated By Staff

A man, who had been receiving assistance from The Salvation Army in Florida for several months, reportedly set fire to the charity’s building just as it was preparing for its busiest season, reports Law and Crime.

Kissimmee police and fire crews were alerted to the scene on Monday evening, where they found the building engulfed in smoke and flames. Witnesses indicated that the fire may have been intentionally started.

Responding officers approached a man named Cordearo Mable, 37, who was standing in close proximity.

“I’m most likely going to jail,”

Mable told an officer at the scene.

“You’re going to have to process me in a second.”

When the officer asked him why, he allegedly replied,

    “I did it.”

The officer asked Mable what he meant, and he allegedly said,

“That sh– is burning right now.”

According to a probable cause arrest affidavit obtained by Law and Crime, Mable reportedly expressed to the police that he had been feeling mistreated by one of the few establishments in Kissimmee that provided support to homeless individuals. The document stated that an employee at the facility informed Mable that his

    “services were complete,”

leading to his eviction on Monday morning.

Mable reacted angrily to this and told staff they would

    “all burn up”

    and

“I’m setting the Salvation Army on fire.”

The employee contacted the authorities who later arrived at the scene. Mable reportedly warned staff and police saying,

“Arrest me now, or you are going to have to do it later because I will get my revenge.”

Mable reportedly returned to the building.

He told officers that he broke in after he had found a rock near the train tracks and stolen a bottle of lighter fluid. He admitted to pouring the fluid throughout the hallways and side offices, igniting it with a lighter. As a result of these actions, Mable has been arrested and charged with arson and burglary.

Florida Man Allegedly Hires Hitmen To Silence Teen He Sexually Assaulted

Four individuals are facing serious charges in connection to a murder-for-hire plot that resulted in the death of a teenage girl in Florida, per Fox News.

The victim, Isabella Scavelli, had reported a sexual assault to the police before she was shot and killed at her home. It is alleged that the suspect, Lenard White hired two men, Sheldon Robinson and Keshawn Woods, to carry out the murder because Scavelli had spoken out after he assaulted her. The mother of Scavelli was also severely injured during the barrage of gunfire.

    he said.
