French Montana has never been one to shy away from controversy — but his latest appearance on Sited with Rah Ali took everyone by surprise.
The Bronx-born rapper sat down with his longtime friend and the show’s host, Rah Ali, for what was supposed to be a deep and revealing conversation. Instead, the episode took a dramatic turn when French abruptly walked out mid-interview.

His Moroccan roots, international sound, and high-profile friendships (everyone from Diddy to Drake) have kept him relevant in both music and culture.
When Rah Ali, show host and a friend of French’s for over 15 years, tried to navigate their conversation with the honesty and edge that Sited is known for, things got tense when the topic of Rick Ross and Drake came up. What happened next left the Rah shocked and confused.
No goodbye. No wrap-up. Just… gone.
What happened? Why did French leave? And what exactly was said that made him walk?
Did Rah go too far, or French just couldn’t handle the heat? Catch the full(ish) Sited with Rah Ali episode and judge for yourself!
Serena Williams’ crip walk is still the talk of the internet months after the Super Bowl. The athlete dazzled on stage as she executed a perfect crip walk during Kendrick Lamar’s Halftime Show. Meanwhile, speculation has trailed her performance, with many suggesting the dance was a subtle dig at her ex, Drake. However, Williams has addressed the rumors, saying she didn’t dance to shade Drake. Moreover, there was a hint of alcohol behind the historic move.
Serena Williams Clears The Air On Crip Walk
Serena Williams has refuted suggestions that her crip walk was a shade to Drake. The tennis champion sat for an interview with Time, revealing why she joined Kendrick Lamar on stage. She noted that she harbors no ill will toward Drake despite his aggression toward her family for many years. As to why she performed the iconic crip walk during Lamar’s Halftime show, Serena Williams says it was a nod to her roots.
Lamar notably performed Not Like Us, a hit track he created as a Drake diss. Williams also dated Drake on and off from 2011 to 2015. However, she revealed that dissing the rapper was the last thing on her mind during the performance. “Absolutely not,” she replied when asked if she meant to shade him for the few seconds she was on stage. “I would never do that,” she added.
Serena Williams said it was “sad that anyone would ever think that” she did the crip walk to mock Drake. “I respect how they could. Obviously I can see how someone would think that, but absolutely not. I have never had negative feelings towards him. We’ve known him for so many years,” she added.
Serena Williams’ Crip Walk Created Controversy
Serena Williams probably never imagined the kind of impact her crip walk would have. In addition to the memes, speculations, and rumors of a Drake diss, the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) received numerous complaints. The commission reportedly received 125 complaints, including one that said Serena Williams promoted “gang affiliation” with her crip walk.
Meanwhile, the tennis star’s cameo isn’t her first rodeo at crip, walking publicly or facing backlash because of it. In 2012, Williams performed the same moves after beating Maria Sharapova to win the London Olympics at Wimbledon. The same controversy arose at the time as critics claimed she promoted gang culture.
In response to reporters’ questions at the time, Williams said, per The Guardian, “First of all, it was just a dance. I didn’t know that’s what it was called. Second, why are you asking me that? If anything, you should be trying to ask me questions to lift me up, not bring such things … I’m done with that question.”
Serena Williams Doesn’t Know If She Regrets Her Cameo
Speaking to Time, Serena William said she’s not sure about her feelings on the crip walk. “I don’t know if I regret it or not,” she said of her cameo, “I don’t know the answer to that.” Nevertheless, the performance was significant because of her and Lamar’s roots. The pair are Compton natives, so the moves were a nod to their origin. Meanwhile, before his show, the Pulitzer Prize winner had also said fans could expect “storytelling.” Serena Williams’ cameo tied up with that.
“I think I’ve always been very open about storytelling through all my catalog and my history of music, and I’ve always had a passion about bringing that on whatever stage I’m on,” Lamar said per PEOPLE.
Meanwhile, in surprising news, Serena Williams revealed that she took two tequila shots before her performance. The investor joined SZA and Samuel L. Jackson for the Super Bowl Halftime show.
Fans are divided over Serena Williams’ comments on her crip walk. While some believe the businesswoman meant no harm, others think she, or at least Kendrick Lamar, had every intention of shading Drake.
#Clique, what do you think about Serena Williams’ comments on her reason for cripwalking at the Super Bowl Halftime Show? Let us know in the comments.
Life has a way of introducing you to the right people at the right time.
After college, I landed my first “big girl” job as an executive assistant to one of the most well-respected music executives in the industry—at least, in my opinion. The role gave me a front-row seat to the inner workings of the music business. While I had the pleasure of meeting many talented artists, I found myself most drawn to the people behind the scenes. No offense to the artists (I love you all!), but their teams were the ones who truly fascinated me.
Managers, assistants, publicists, and photographers—each played a crucial role in an artist’s success. But one team, in particular, stood out. HDBeenDope’s crew didn’t just feel like colleagues; they felt like family. More than just a team, they were a collective—LABB, short for “Learn And Become Better.” It was more than a name; it was a philosophy, a shared identity.

At the heart of this creative powerhouse? Nickie Rose.
Nicki isn’t just HD’s photographer—she’s his hype woman, accountability partner, and sister in every sense of the word. She plays a pivotal role in his journey, ensuring that his moments aren’t just lived but captured with an artistic vision that tells a story. And while her bond with HD is undeniable, her talent extends far beyond their circle.
“Me and my friends, we’re just so f*ing cool—why not be cool out loud?”** – Nicki Rose
Through her lens, Nicki has captured music giants such as Drake, Central Cee, Burna Boy, SZA, and many more. For this feature, we are thrilled to highlight her story.
The Origins of a Visionary

The Origins of a Visionary
Hailing from the Bronx, NY, Nicki’s journey into photography started with hip-hop’s renowned publication, Word Up! Magazine—a cultural staple that shaped an entire generation’s perception of music and artists. “My mom used to cop them for me whenever I visited her in the Bronx. I’d cut out photos of Chris Brown, B2K, and 50 Cent and plaster them all over my wall.”
As she got older, her passion for collecting art transitioned to Tumblr, where she discovered photographers like RenellMedrano and artists like A$AP Rocky. “There was always some fly s***, very New York, and I wanted to take photos like that. So I asked my pops for a camera.”
That request set her on a path that would eventually lead to capturing some of the biggest names in music.
The Shot Seen Around the World
Captured By Nickie Lee Rose
When asked about her most notable project, Nickie doesn’t hesitate. “If you ask people on the outside, they’d probably say the photo of Drake and Central Cee at On The Radar.”
In July 2023, she was gifted a rare opportunity by her friend Gabe P, the creator of On The Radar—a chance to photograph two legends as a birthday present. “That was a big opportunity. The fact that he called me made me feel like, ‘Damn, motherfers really respect my s—that they would call me when legends are coming into town.’”
So, how did it feel to capture that moment? “I have this thing where I don’t fully realize what I’m doing—not even in the moment.” She explains, “It’s not until after, maybe when I post it or see it out in the world, that it really sinks in.”
For Nickie, the experience felt almost surreal—like it was tailor-made for her. “I have no idea how anyone else in the room felt, but from him asking to see the photos, requesting me to send them—even asking for my IG to follow—it all just validated that I’m good being me, no matter where I go.”
The Places That Stole Her Heart
For someone who has traveled the world, picking a favorite destination isn’t easy. But for Nicki, two places stand out above the rest.
“I’ve been bragging about this ever since I left—South Africa and Switzerland have my heart. Those are two places I just can’t let go of.”
Captured By Nickie Lee Rose
During her time on tour with Burna Boy, Nickie’s team surprised her with an early trip to Switzerland for her birthday, allowing her to take in its breathtaking landscapes before the tour resumed. “When I got there, I was like, ‘This is unbelievable.’ I really appreciate the team for that. Since I’m the only American on the crew, they always encourage me to explore and see that there’s so much more to the world.”
From the vibrant culture of South Africa to the serene beauty of Switzerland, these destinations left a lasting impression on Nickie—ones she continues to cherish long after leaving. “I tried to FaceTime everybody. I called my manager, Ju, but the call wouldn’t go through. I tried calling my mom, but that call didn’t go through either. That was the moment I realized—just like the Drake experience, that moment was cut out for me.”
Nickie’s Top Three Photographers

So, who are the photographers that inspire Nicki Rose?
She lets out a playful groan.
“Oughh, I’m a fan of photographers who make me feel like, ‘Damn, I don’t think I could do that right now—let me go study and figure out how to level up.’”
“I look at her as an icon. She’s an Afro-Latina from the Bronx with an incredible mind and eye. She’s the full package of what it means to be a fly creator from the BX.”
As we step into 2025, Nicki is ready to move beyond the lens—not just as a photographer but as a creative visionary.
Captured By Nickie Lee Rose
“I want to step out from being just the person behind the lens. I know I’m multi-talented in so many ways, but my biggest blessing is my eye,” she shares. “I’ll still be in the visual space, but maybe stepping into directing or creative direction. It’s time to branch out.”
With a sharp artistic vision and an ever-evolving perspective, Nickie Rose’s next chapter is one to watch.

Kevin Durant was not impressed by Kendrick Lamar’s Super Bowl Halftime Show on Sunday and expressed it in not so many words. The basketball player known for his love and loyalty to Drake called Lamar’s performance uninspiring. Although many people share his opinion, Durant’s affinity for all things Drake may have also colored his view, considering the ongoing, bitter feud between Kendrick Lamar and Drake. Kevin Durant Calls Super Bowl Halftime Show ‘Boring’
Kevin Durant was out on Monday night when reporters asked for his thoughts on this year’s Super Bowl Halftime Show. Durant responded that the Super Bowl itself and the Halftime Show were underwhelming in all regards. He told The Arizona Republic that the Super Bowl Halftime Show, where Kendrick Lamar performed his hit diss track, Not Like Us, “meant nothing” to him. “I didn’t really pay attention to it to be honest,” he said. He also revealed that he tuned out of the game by halftime.
“It was a pretty boring day as far as a Super Bowl. Game got out of hand, Super Bowl Halftime show- I didn’t pay attention to it.”
Kevin Durant is not alone in his opinion. The 2025 Super Bowl lacked its usual energy and competition despite its PR as the “holy grail” of North American athletics events. The game between the Philadelphia Eagles and the Kansas City Chiefs lost its flair in the first half when the Eagles led 24-0, culminating in their 40-22 win in the second half.
Kevin Durant Is A Huge Drake Fan
Meanwhile, Kevin Durant’s view of Kendrick Lamar’s Apple Music Super Bowl Halftime Show may be due to more than a disappointing game or “boring” performance. Fans believe that his comments stemmed from his friendship with Drake. Durant supported the rapper through his feud with Lamar and a lawsuit against Universal Music Group and Spotify. When Drake accused the two entities of artificially inflating the Pulitzer Prize winner’s track, Not Like Us, Durant showed his support On Instagram.
He posted a screenshot of a line in the rapper’s 30 for 30 Freestyle on his Stories, where he rapped, “When the higher-ups have come together as a collective/With conspiracies to end my run and send me a message/40, did you get the message?” Timberwolves star Anthony Edwards also confirmed Durant’s love for Drake’s music when he revealed that he only listened to Drake during the Paris Summer Olympics. Meanwhile, the love is mutual as Drake has a tattoo of Kevin Durant’s number on his arm.
Kendrick Lamar’s Controversial Super Bowl Halftime Show
Kendrick Lamar’s performance at the Super Bowl Halftime Show has divided many. Shortly after his performance, many went online to express their disappointment over an underwhelming show. Some called it one of the “worst” halftime shows in history. However, others believe that the rapper didn’t perform to entertain but sent a message, which may have been lost on those who called the show boring. Meanwhile, some believe that Lamar could have left his beef with Drake out of the show.
They opined that dissing the latter during the Halftime Show watered his message. Kendrick Lamar took a bold step by performing Not Like Us and naming Drake right into the cameras. He also delivered two lines that refer to Drake as a pedophile without him saying the word. “Say Drake, I hear you like them young” and “trying to strike a chord and it’s probably a minor,” he said. Lamar also brought Drake’s former love interest, Serena Williams, out on stage to crip walk when he performed the song.
Kevin Durant’s opinion on Kendrick Lamar’s performance at the Super Bowl Halftime Show is valid. Nevertheless, Lamar’s performance continues gaining traction online over the Super Bowl itself, with positive and negative reactions.

Kendrick Lamar isn’t the only one Drake is fighting; the Canadian rapper is now a loggerhead with UMG. However, in this chaos, media critic Flakko says that the music giant can have him replaced.
Drake Versus UMG
Following his feud with fellow rapper Kendrick Lamar, Drake is now pointing to UMG. The rapper slammed a lawsuit against the group on January 15 in a New York Court. Per Billboard, he accused his longtime recording company of siding with Lamar. The rapper insists that the music label prioritized “corporate greed” by allowing Lamar to release his diss track, which cited defamatory remarks.
Concerning Lamar’s slanders, Drake accused UMG of tagging along —helping the artist promote his songs despite their knowledge of the false claims. Thus, this action, according to Drake, made him a victim of violent attacks.
UMG Versus Drake
The music production company released a response on January 15, just hours after the “God’s Plan” crooner sued them. In their response, they revealed that the rapper was illogical with his claims. They refused to have their image dented, adding that their duty is never to tarnish the reputation of another artist.
Per their statement, UMG spotlighted their working relationship with the artist, which has gone on for years. Throughout this time, UMG claimed that they prioritized Drake’s musical success. Without mincing words, the music giant referenced Drake’s diss tracks, which also held false claims. In their opinion, the rapper had dished out such remarks in the past and couldn’t stand the taste of his own medicine. Their statement read:
“Throughout his career, Drake has intentionally and successfully used UMG to distribute his music and poetry to engage in conventionally outrageous back-and-forth ‘rap battles’ to express his feelings about other artists.”
Consequently, UMG disagreed with the accusations of weaponizing Lamar against Drake. Instead, they claim to be assisting an artist who expressed himself artistically. They have vowed to defend their name while protecting their “people and reputation.”
Drake Lost The Rap Battle With Kendrick Lamar
As for Drake’s reputation, fans would agree that the rapper is quite famous for diss tracks between other rappers. Most recently, the Canadian native has clawed at Lamar, with both rappers giving their replies in diss tracks. But it all came to a halt after Lamar released his “Not Like Us” track. This piece of music spotlighted Drake as a pedophile. Soon, Lamar’s music topped the charts while Drake was left to live with the criticisms.
In November 2024, the rapper mentioned that the music label would pay for Lamar’s actions. While his rival isn’t particularly on the hot seat, Drake has refused to get out of UMG’s hair.
Flakko On Drake’s Lawsuit
Beyoncé’s “Irreplaceable” song might have just inspired Flakko. While reacting to Drake’s lawsuit, the “No Jumper” host claimed UMG could have another Drake in a minute! He established that UMG made Drake a celebrity, and they could do that with any other artist if they pleased. While the fact that UMG raised the rapper to be what he is, through the years, Drake has proven to have a peculiar sound and has racked up loyal listeners.

Azealia Banks is popular for her controversial and daring social media statements. The rapper has never shied from stating her opinions, which has increased her popularity. Banks recently shocked everyone again when she revealed an intimate detail about her and Drake. The songwriter’s statement was a response to a critic’s question about whether she wanted to be with her fellow rapper. Banks’ response was unexpected and quickly stirred reactions online.
Azealia Banks Reveals Her and Drake Were Once Intimate
Azealia Banks’ revelation about her and Drake took many by surprise. The Nov. 28, 2024, declaration on X, formerly Twitter, was in response to an X user asking if Banks wanted to “suck Drake dick that bad?” “AND DID!!!!” the songwriter replied. The Harlem native’s response quickly caused a stir online as fans asked fore more details of the event between her and Drake. However, in true Banks fashion, the singer has kept mum. Meanwhile, some were skeptical about Banks’ claims and asked for proof.
Azealia Banks’ revelation followed her commentary on the legal battle between Drake, Universal Music Group (UMG), Spotify, and Kendrick Lamar. The music star sided with Drake and predicted the outcome of his legal filings.
“Oh drake DEFINITELY has the gun. He’s about to crook umg and spotify on some minor legal formalities and actually be the first rapper in history to stage a heist of such epic proportions,” she wrote on X. “It’s really such a lethal chess move when you really examine it,” she continued.
“He’s going to subpoena literally every platforms records, they will not be able to cook the books- and *discover* (expose) all the shady backend parts of music streaming no one really understands…Then they will all have to prove that drake is a pedophile which would make UMG and spotify look retarded if they even did, kendrick is not going to be able to perform they not like us, and jayz is going to have officially been bodied by a singing n-gga.”
Drake’s Battle With Kendrick Lamar and UMG
Drake recently accused UMG and Spotify of using streaming bots and Payola to inflate the streaming and radio numbers of Lamar’s diss song Not Like Us amid their ongoing feud. He alleged that the two organizations collaborated to recommend the diss song to many. He also accused UMG of doing the same with other streaming platforms, including recommending Not Like Us to those who requested other songs.
Meanwhile, Azealia Banks frequently supported Drake against Lamar in their feud and declared the latter the winner. She notably knocked Lamar for his height, writing online,
“Kendrick is still 4’9″ and wears the same jean size as me.”
However, she has also knocked Drake online. She attacked the Canadian-born rapper after his altercation with Joe Budden, mocking him for his nose job and liposuction.
Drake is yet to respond to claims of his and Azealia Banks’ purported relationships. The 212 rapper has also not said anything about it since she firstdropped the bombshell. However, her commentary about the ongoing legal battle between Drake, UMG, Spotify, and Lamar is worth following.

2024 has been a year of surprising revelations and shocking headlines. From the police searching and finding 1000 bottles of baby oil in Sean “Diddy” Combs’s house to his arrest and detention, Kat William’s revelations, and Donald Trump’s victory at the polls, there has been no shortage of wow-inducing moments. We have curated the biggest news involving celebrities and entertainers in 2024.
1. Diddy’s Arrest and Downfall
On September 16, federal authorities made one of the biggest arrests of 2024. This came after they picked up Sean “Diddy” Combs in a Manhattan hotel lobby. Authorities arrested Diddy and charged him with racketeering, sex trafficking, and transportation to engage in prostitution. The music mogul’s arrest in September was a consequence of the raid on his LA and Miami homes in March. Department of Homeland Security had raided Diddy’s homes following mounting allegations of abuse and sexual assault against the rapper.
During the raid, investigators found evidence of “freak-offs” contained in tapes, narcotics like ketamine and ecstasy, and 1000 bottles of baby oil. They also seized the rapper’s phones and guns. Diddy’s legal troubles began after his ex-girlfriend, Cassie Ventura, accused him of sexual and physical abuse. Diddy apologized online after CNN released footage of him brutally assaulting Ventura at the InterContinental Hotel. However, he remains in custody and will go on trial on May 5, 2025.
2. Drake and Kendrick Lamar’s Beef
The beef between Drake and Kendrick Lamar is one of 2024’s biggest pop-culture events. Their once-friendly relationship turned sour once Lamar found his feet in the industry. “I got love for you all, but I’m trying to murder you,” he said to Drake, J Cole, Meek Mill, Mac Miller, Pusha T, and others while featuring on Big Sean’s Control. Drake responded, telling Billboard it was an ambitious thought and Lamar couldn’t “murder him” on any platform. The two have been in a rap feud ever since.
Drake and Kendrick Lamar’s beef escalated in 2024. It began with Lamar’s verse on Like That, responding to J. Cole’s suggestion that he, Lamar, and Drake were the big three rap stars. Lamar’s expletive-laden and explosive reply came in his feature appearance on Metro Boomin’ and Future’s Like That. Lamar said there was no “big three – it’s just big me.” Drake responded via a diss track, and the fight became personal, with him and Lamar going against each other via several diss tracks. Lamar also accused Drake of pedophilia and secretly fathering a child. Meanwhile, Drake accused Lamar of physical abuse against his family.
3. Katt Williams and Shannon Sharpe’s Interview
Katt Williams and Shannon Sharpe’s interview holds the official title for the most views for an interview on YouTube. The controversial interview shook the internet, as it was discussed on several mainstream and social media channels and dominated headlines for weeks. During the interview, Williams slammed and revealed the “truth” about many celebrities, including Diddy, Steve Harvey, Ludacris, Tyler Perry, Tiffany Haddish, and Kevin Hart. The interview gained more recognition after Diddy’s collapse shortly after.
4. Usher’s Super Bowl Performance
Usher’s Superbowl halftime performance was an opportunity to make a statement and pay tribute to those who came before him. “I’m coming through the front door with this one,” he said on Good Morning America. Surprisingly, the R&B star managed to fit 30 years of his career into a 13-minute presentation that sent the audience into an uproar and will not be forgotten anytime soon. Usher’s lineup comprised over a dozen songs featuring ballads and club anthems, and eventually, it shifted into party mode.
The musician opened the night with Alicia Keys on If I Ain’t Got You, setting everywhere into a palpable calm. He then transitioned into other songs like Caught Up, U Don’t Have to Call, and Confessions Part II, captivating the audience with his body and voice in true Usher fashion. Stars like Jermaine Dupri, H.E.R., Will.i.am, Lil Jon, and Ludacris joined Usher on the stage, which soon transformed into mini Atlanta with dancers on roller skates, A-town stomp, thunderclaps, and the Rockaway.
5. The Olympics: Sha’Carri Richardson’s Performance
Sha’Carri Richardson, with her signature long and colorful nails and hair, created one of 2024’s historic moments. The Olympic medal winner was favored to win gold in the 100m race at the 2024 games but fell just short of it due to a slow start. Richardson came in at 10.89 seconds, which ensured Julien Alfred of Saint Lucia won her country’s first gold in 10.72 seconds.
Richardson’s main rival, Shericka Jackson of Jamaica, had withdrawn from the race to prepare for the 200m. Subsequently, all eyes were on the American athlete, who missed the Tokyo Olympics after testing positive for marijuana and hoped to win gold in Paris. Richardson said she smoked pot to cope with news of her mother’s death at the time.
6. Jonathan Majors’ Sentenced to Domestic Violence Treatment Program
On April 8, 2024, Jonathan Majors narrowly avoided arrest and got sentenced to a year-long domestic violence treatment program instead. The actor, whose career had been on the rise, was convicted of domestic assault against his ex-girlfriend, Grace Jabbari. Police arrested Majors on March 25, 2023, for beating Jabbari in a taxi cab. The dancer had grabbed his phone after seeing a text she thought was from another woman.
PerNBC News, The Creed III actor allegedly pulled Grace’s finger, twisted her arm, and struck her in the face to get his phone back. The trial began on Nov. 29, 2023, and Majors was found guilty of assault in the third degree and harassment in the second degree on December 18, 2023. He was sentenced to a one-year “in-person batterers” intervention program in Los Angeles.
7. Jonathan Majors Engaged to Meagan Good
Jonathan Major made the news again in November 2024 but for something positive this time. The actor and his fiancee, actress Megan Good, announced their engagement at the EBONY Power 100 Gala in Los Angeles. The couple met years before but only started dating two months after Majors’ legal troubles began. Majors has been vocal about Good’s support throughout his trial. The actress also disclosed that her fiance tried to dissuade her from being with him because of his situation, but she chose to stay.
8. Trump vs. Kamala Harris
Perhaps the biggest news story of 2024 was the 2024 US presidential election. The battle between the Republican and Democrat parties was more intense this year than any others because of broadly polarizing issues. Vice President Kamala Harris’ entry into the race was dramatic and would have made for good talking points. However, she inherited the disapproval that trailed Biden’s administration on inflation and immigration, which tanked her bid. President-elect Donald Trump won 312 electoral votes, while Harris won 226.
9. Bronny James Joins the Lakers with LeBron
LeBron and Bronny James made history as the first father-son duo to play an NBA game together. They teamed up with the Lakers against the Minnesota Timberwolves in a 110-103 victory round. The Lakers drafted Bronny as a second-round pick. It was a proud moment for father and son as they checked into the game together.
“I lost a lot of time because of this league so to be able to have this moment where I am working still and I can work alongside my son,” LeBron said. “It’s one of the greatest gifts I’ve ever got from the man above and I’m going to take full advantage of it.”
10. Wendy Williams’ Dementia and Documentary
Popular talk show host Wendy Williams’ diagnosis of dementia and aphasia in February 2024 shocked many people. For years, Williams entertained many with her TV show, The Wendy Williams Show, where she infused humor and often plain truth while conveying her message. However, a few days after her public diagnosis, a docuseries, Where Is Wendy Williams? detailing William’s life was released. The project noted that the TV personality was the executive producer.
However, her legal guardian, Sabrina Morrissey, decried it, calling the project exploitative of a vulnerable woman. She also filed a legal complaint at the New York State Supreme Court. The docuseries follows Williams’ life after her show ended and captures her alcohol addiction as well as her financial and health struggles. Morrissey has asked the court to terminate the contract Entertainment One Reality Productions claims it signed with Williams.
11. Nickelodeon Documentary Exposes Abuse of Child Stars
2024 was a year of big revelations, and Nickelodeon was not left out. In March 2024, Investigation Discovery released a four-part documentary calledQuiet on Set: The Dark Side of Kids TV. The series focused on interviews with former child stars and Nickelodeon staff who alleged years of racism, sexual abuse, and gender inequality. The shocking truth revealed by those involved reverberated online and on mainstream media and sparked conversations about the safety of children in such spaces.
Notably, Drake Bell of Drake and Josh fame recounted publicly for the first time how he was sexually molested by Brain Peck, a Nickelodeon dialogue coach and actor sentenced to 16 months in jail in 2004. There were cases to answer for Dan Schneider, the once revered and talented creator of popular shows like Sam and Cat, iCarly, Drake and Josh, Victorious and Zoey 101. Schneider was fired in 2018 after an investigation was launched into allegations of his verbal abuse, tantrums, and creating a toxic work environment.
12. No Beyoncé Nominations at the Country Music Awards
2024 was also a rude awakening for those in the country music scene and those looking to get in. Despite topping the country music charts, Beyonce’s best-selling album, CowboyCarter, was snubbed for the prestigious Country Music Association (CMA) Awards. Many had hoped Beyonce would be the first black woman to be nominated and win album of the year. A friend revealed that the snub shocked and infuriated the singer.
“Bey grew up on country music and has a great love for it,” the friend said. “Not being recognized for her country album that did so well feels like a slap in the face.”
Billy Ray Cyrus also questioned why the Single Ladies singer was not nominated. Many people also speculated that the singer was snubbed because she didn’t pay homage to the genre’s gatekeepers and because of her skin color, which likely made her seem like an intruder.
13. Rise in Popularity in Pop The Balloon series (Arlette)
With 2024 came a new dating concept that has gained popularity worldwide. Pop The Balloon, a real-life dating show that premiered in January 2024, has quickly influenced the dating landscape. The brutal honesty and unique concept of accepting or rejecting a potential suitor or dating partner based on a balloon is one of the show’s strongest suits.
Participants get to make their choices by popping a balloon if they are disinterested in a prospect or keeping it if they like what they see or hear. The series is hosted by Arlette Amuli and produced by her husband, Bolia Matundu.
14. Shannon Sharpe Sex Tape Leak
Fans were shocked to hear audio of a woman moaning on Instagram Live during an intimate moment on Shannon Sharpe’s account. The clip was quickly deleted from the former NFL player’s Instagram account, where Sharpe claimed hackers attacked his account. However, the former tight end later confessed on hisNightcap podcast that it wasn’t a prank or the work of hackers. He also revealed that he was the one in the video, and he accidentally turned on Instagram Live after throwing his phone on the bed.
“Obviously I am embarrassed. Someone that is extremely, extremely private and to have one of your most intimate details — the audio — heard for the entire world to hear, I’m embarrassed for a number of reasons,” Sharpe, who is known for being very private, said on the emergency episode of his podcast.
In September, Kendrick Lamar was announced as the headliner for the February 2025 Apple Music halftime show. However, the decision surprised many who thought Lil Wayne would get to do the honors instead, as the 2025 Superbowl will take place in Wayne’s hometown of New Orleans. The rapper also expressed disappointment about not being selected.
“I blame myself for not being mentally prepared for a letdown and for just automatically, mentally putting myself in that position,” he said on Instagram.
Meanwhile, Lamar reacted to the Lolipop rapper’s statement in his surprise sixth 12-track album GNX. The Pulitzer Prize winner rapped on his intro song wacced out murals,“Used to bump Tha Carter III, I held my Rollie chain proud / Irony, I think my hard work let Lil Wayne down/ Whatever though, call me crazy, everybody questionable / Turn me to an Esk—, I drew the line and decimals.” Lamar also aimed at everyone who didn’t congratulate him after he was announced.

Kendrick Lamar’s Super Bowl Halftime Show will go down in 2025 in New Orleans. Although the anticipated performance is still months away, some controversy has already begun brewing. The cause? The ongoing beef between Lamar and Drake. Recall that both rappers haven’t been on good terms for a while, going as far as releasing diss tracks about each other. Recently, rapper Wack 100 took things to new heights when he accused Drake of planning to sabotage Lamar’s upcoming Super Bowl performance.
The Drake, Kendrick Lamar, and Wack 100 Drama
On Sunday, Wack 100 made the headlines when he made a shocking claim about Drake. During a streaming session, the music manager alleged that Drake was using legal means to try to interrupt Kendrick Lamar’s upcoming Super Bowl Performance. The rapper boldly claimed per HipHopDX:
“He’s trying to get the NFL to restrict Kendrick.”
Wack 100 further claimed that Drake issued a cease and desist to Lamar over the diss track Not Like Us. According to Wack 100, the move was to prevent the 37-year-old from performing the track at the show. However, the rapper revealed Drake’s alleged plan would not hold up due to Jay-Z’s involvement with the NFL. He said:
“As long as Jay-Z got something to do with it, it ain’t.”
NFL Announces Kendrick Lamar as 2025 Super Bowl Halftime Show Headliner
Wack 100’s claims came over a few weeks after the NFL announced Lamar would headline the Super Bowl Halftime Show on February 9, 2025. While the big announcement left fans excited, it sparked a debate online. Many believed Lamar was firing more shots at Drake, all thanks to the announcement video. The clip showed Lamar standing before an American flag on a football pitch, firing off passes to an unseen receiver. Lamar said:
“Rap music is still the most impactful genre to date. And I’ll be there to remind the world why. They got the right one.”
Besides the Drake and Lamar drama, some fans argued that Lil Wayne should have headlined the show instead. According to them, it was only right given that the Super Bowl would happen in Lil Wayne’s hometown. Many rappers agreed, sharing their opinions about the NFL choosing Larmar. Drake was not left out! Taking to his Instagram stories on September 10, the 6 God showed support by sharing several throwback pictures of Lil Wayne. He posted a picture of Lil Wayne from his iconic “A Milli” video and photos of young Wayne holding a flip phone and gambling.
A few days later, Nicki Minaj joined in the online debate. In an explosive social media rant, the rapper criticized Jay-Z, who has helped organize the halftime show since 2020. Nicki Minaj codedly accused the Roc Nation boss of denying Lil Wayne a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity due to personal grievances. According to Nicki Minaj, Jay Z’s ego and dislike for her, Drake, and Birdman were the reasons for his actions. Meanwhile, Lil Wayne and Kendrick Lamar have not publicly shared their opinions on the controversy. In the meantime, fans are counting down the weeks to Lamar’s performance. There are still hopes that Lil Wayne could appear as a special guest.

Many celebrities were invited to Drake’s SXSW after-party, which was held at Mayfair. The guest list included 2 Chainz, T.I., and Killer Mike. However, sources say that an uninvited guest entered the venue. Despite attending without an invitation, Bobbi Althoff spent little time at the party.
The Duo’s Alleged Fallout
Months after interviewing Drake, Bobbi Althoff addressed rumors of a fallout between them. As a guest on the Keke Palmer show, Althoff explained that Drake is a nice person and credited him for changing her podcast game.
Tension simmered among fans who believed the rapper had unfollowed Bobbi right after their interview. This speculation arose because she had deleted the entire episode featuring the rapper.
During an interview with Keke Palmer in January, The Jasmine Brand reported that Bobbi and Drake last interacted about a month ago, suggesting that there was likely no beef between them.
Althoff Ejected from Drake’s SXSW Party
It has been about two months since Bobbi’s admission, but new reports suggest that the duo has yet to bury the hatchet. Bobbi Althoff was sighted during Drake’s SXSW after-party. A tipster claimed she was not on the guest list and did not stay long at the event.
The organizers of Drake’s SXSW party may have realized she was uninvited, leading them to escort the internet sensation out of the party.
According to an insider:
“I have no idea how she got in because she was not invited by the organizers or hosts of the event,” one source claims. “If you look up the past history between her and Drake, it’s easy to see why she wasn’t invited – and why she was removed as soon as possible.”
Neither Bobbi nor Drake has given their take on the rumor. But word on the street is that the rapper was nowhere to be seen during the party, suggesting he might have been unaware of the situation.
Drake is seemingly under fire after linking up with 11-year-old upcoming rapper FNG King as seen in a short viral clip. Fans speculate the location to be a night club although it hasn’t been confirmed. The video shows the young boy proudly showing off a bunch of money after taking a picture with the Canadian rapper.
X users commented on the video with concerns. One user wrote,
“Where is this child’s parents?”
Another user penned,
“I bet you he wouldn’t let him play with his son.”
While someone else wrote,
“I have questions… are those ladies in the back at the 5 second mark naked? Why is this child in this environment? Would Drake bring his own child to this same environment and would that not be equally as weird? Would Drake even introduce his child to this child? Why are some people encouraging this? Is this grooming? Wtf goin on.”
Drake isn’t the only person to link up with the 11-year-old rapper as he has been seen with Lil Baby,Finesse2Tymes, and Sexyy Red.
