  • Man Assaults Drivers and Steals Woman’s Car After ‘Good Samaritans’ Try To Help Him During Iowa Blizzard

Man Assaults Drivers and Steals Woman’s Car After ‘Good Samaritans’ Try To Help Him During Iowa Blizzard

A man in Iowa allegedly assaulted two drivers who stopped to assist him during a snowstorm, reports Law & Crime. He carjacked one of them before being apprehended by the Iowa State Police using a PIT maneuver on Friday.

The alleged assailant, Jermaine Leatre Shetworth Ware, 28, is currently held without bond in the Polk County Jail. Charges against him include eluding, second-degree theft, first-degree robbery, interference with official acts, and operating a vehicle under the influence, according to records. Des Moines police stated that the incident occurred when a driver picked up Ware, whom they believed needed help, but he soon attacked the driver and attempted to steal their car.

After failing with the first driver, Ware managed to flag down another driver on I-235 and successfully carjacked them.

“The victim saw the defendant running along the side of the interstate so she let him into her car to help him,”

    stated documents viewed by Law&Crime.

“The victim became nervous of the defendant’s paranoid behavior and attempted to pull over.”

When she managed to stop the vehicle,

“The defendant reached over the victim, opened her door, and slammed his body into her until she fell out of her vehicle and into the travel portion of the interstate,”

authorities wrote. However, the woman still had possession of her key. Ware realized the keys were missing when he tried driving off. He then

“[held] his knee in the victim’s throat, the defendant began biting the victim’s right hand to get her to release the car keys,”

    they wrote.

“The defendant was eventually able to take the keys from the victim and he got into her car and drove away.”

The victim suffered cuts and bite marks on her right hand, along with redness on the left side of her throat. One of the troopers involved in the arrest said they used a PIT maneuver to bring the vehicle to a halt. Ware attempted to flee through the passenger door, but complied when the trooper ordered him to lie on the ground at gunpoint. According to authorities, Ware exhibited signs of marijuana use, appeared intoxicated by drugs, seemed paranoid, and was loud during the journey to the jail.

Homeless Man Hit by 3 Drivers Who Did Not Stop To Help Him

A homeless man in Pacoima, Los Angeles was struck by three drivers who failed to stop, leaving him there to die, as captured by a security camera owned by a local business. NBC Los Angeles reports that the incident took place on Friday night in the San Fernando Valley community.

Shortly before midnight on Friday, a light-colored pickup truck traveling in the wrong direction on San Fernando Road collided with the victim as he was crossing the street, according to the police. The impact caused the man to fall, but he was seen trying to get back on his feet.

“He was breathing…He was trying to get up. And, even after then, he was hit again on the other side of the street,”

    said Khalil.

“What would they have thought if that was one of their family members? I don’t know what kind of souls these people have, but I’m guessing they don’t.”

The man was later hit by another driver operating a light-colored SUV. The force of the impact caused the victim to fly several feet away. Shortly after, a dark-colored SUV struck the man, seemingly dragging him along, as reported by Amgad. Amgad said he did not initially witness the accidents but rushed over to help when he saw the video footage.

“I walked up to him, put the light on him. He wasn’t breathing,”

    Amgad told the outlet.

The man, believed to be in his 20s or 30s, frequently walked around the neighborhood with a blanket, according to Amgad.

As of now, there have been no reports of any arrests made in connection with this incident.

  • Man Sentenced To 140 Years After Attempting To Blame Twin Brother For Rape of 9-Year-Old Girl and Jogger

Man Sentenced To 140 Years After Attempting To Blame Twin Brother For Rape of 9-Year-Old Girl and Jogger

This week, a man has been sentenced to 140 years behind bars after raping a jogger and a 9-year-old girl and then attempting to place the blame on his twin brother, says the Orange County District Attorney’s Office, reports NBC News

Kevin Konther and his twin brother were the focal point of an investigation after Genealogy technology geared officials to them back in 2019 making them key suspects in the assaults that occurred decades ago. Officials say one assault happened in 1995, while the other one took place in 1998.

    The office said,

“Identical twins share the same DNA, but conversations covertly recorded between the two brothers following their arrests revealed multiple incriminating statements made by Kevin Konther, including admissions that he carried out the crimes.”

Although Konther’s brother wasn’t convicted or charged, he appeared to be surprised by his brother’s actions and the allegations that were made.

The 58-year-old man was sentenced to 140 to life behind bars. He was convicted back in February

“of two counts of forcible rape and other charges, one of which dealt with the molestation of a third victim, the 12-year-old daughter of a former girlfriend,”

    per NBC News.

Back in 1995, Konther raped a minor as she walked to her home. Reports say the 9-year-old was held at knifepoint during the unfortunate encounter. While in 1998, he raped a woman, 32, after jumping out of the bushes while she jogged.

Man Sentenced To 100 Years Behind Bars After Fatally Stabbing Co-Worker Who Stole His Lunch

A 25-year-old Virginia man, Bazn Berhe, has been sentenced to decades behind bars after killing a fellow co-worker for stealing his lunch from the staff refrigerator at Target, per Fox News. Reports say Berhe was sentenced to 100 years; however, received a 30-year suspension, which translates to 70 years in prison, said Fairfax County Commonwealth’s Attorney.

The 25-year-old fatally stabbed and assaulted 58-year-old Hernan Leiva in the Target parking lot back in 2021, which led to him being charged with first-degree murder. Reports noted that Leiva was upset that the man, who was a janitor at the corporation, took his lunch from the refrigerator 3 days prior.

The murder was premeditated. Reports noted that once his lunch was stolen, he planned the attack. He later bought a knife and told officials after he purchased the knife, he trained for the murder the following day. On April 17, he killed his co-worker after waiting for Leiva in the parking lot. Berhe admitted to the murder and pleaded guilty back in October 2023.

  • Driving Instructor Faces Charges For Allegedly Sexually Abusing and Secretly Recording Teenage Students, Police Say

Driving Instructor Faces Charges For Allegedly Sexually Abusing and Secretly Recording Teenage Students, Police Say

A driving instructor in California has been arrested and charged with nearly three dozen crimes after allegedly sexually abusing teenage students and secretly recording the acts, reports Law & Crime

Richard Joseph Banks, 50, worked for the American Driving School in El Cajon when the assaults took place. He was arrested on Thursday and is now facing 32 charges, including creating obscene material using a minor, sexual battery, and invasion of privacy.

The owner of the driving school, Daniel Tackett, stated that he immediately canceled Banks’ classes upon learning about the investigation into his alleged crimes in November.

“We were shocked by the allegations against Joe,”

    Tackett told KNSD.

“His actions are his alone, and they violate the trust and policies of our company and those of the DMV regarding inappropriate behavior. He hasn’t taught any students after SDPD notified us of their investigation. We’ve always encouraged parents to ride on the lessons for observation of our teaching methods. As with all DMV licensed instructors, Joe passed a DOJ background check before he was hired.”

According to Tackett, Banks had been employed with the company for almost a year and had been receiving positive feedback from parents and even got referrals to teach other families.

“We’ve been doing this for a long time and we take it very seriously so when something like this happens, it’s just devastating to us,”

    Tackett told the station.

Authorities are actively investigating to identify additional victims in the ongoing case. Banks is set to appear in court on Tuesday.

  • Flint, Michigan’s Guaranteed Income Program Provides New Mothers With $500 Monthly For The First Year Of Their Child’s Life

Flint, Michigan’s Guaranteed Income Program Provides New Mothers With $500 Monthly For The First Year Of Their Child’s Life

In Flint, Michigan, there’s great news for new and expecting moms. They now have the opportunity to receive significant financial support throughout their pregnancy and during their baby’s first year, per Business Insider. This exciting initiative, known as Rx Kids, co-founded by H. Luke Shaefer, aims to provide a guaranteed income to these mothers.

The program’s website proudly states that it offers

    “no-strings-attached love.”

The enrollment for Rx Kids opened last week with Governor Gretchen Whitmer sharing her enthusiasm for the new program with a celebratory tweet,

“Michigan’s nation-leading effort to eliminate infant poverty… It will give every child born in Flint a fair shot at a bright future.”

As per the information provided on the Rx website, expectant moms are eligible to receive $1,500 during their pregnancy and an additional $500 every month for the first year of their baby’s life through the program.

To support young mothers, Baltimore has implemented a guaranteed income program. Under this initiative, the city provides $1,000 every month to young mothers, allowing them to spend the money as they see fit. On the other hand, the Rx Kids program in Flint has set a goal to assist around 1,200 infants annually. With sufficient funding to sustain operations for at least three years, the program’s FAQ page states that it aims to continue delivering financial assistance to Flint families for as long as possible.

“Raising kids is expensive and society should come alongside to support families,”

    the website says.

“For most people, a child’s birth is a joyous event. For too many families, though, income plunges, and poverty spikes right before a child is born and remains high throughout the first year. These first months of life are critical for a baby’s development; it’s also when their families are struggling the most.”

  • Derek Chauvin’s Accused Stabber Opts Out Of Legal Counsel, Set To Represent Himself In Attempted Murder Trial

Derek Chauvin’s Accused Stabber Opts Out Of Legal Counsel, Set To Represent Himself In Attempted Murder Trial

According to RadarOnline.com, the ex-Mexican gangster who allegedly stabbed Derek Chauvin 22 times in a bold prison attack has expressed his desire to represent himself in the upcoming attempted murder trial.

Court records reveal that John Turscak’s public defenders have filed a motion in an Arizona federal court, seeking to withdraw from the high-profile case that revolves around the near-fatal assault on the former Minneapolis police officer. Chauvin is currently serving a 22.5-year sentence for the death of George Floyd in 2020.

“Mr. Turscak would like to appear in pro se and requests that a hearing be set on this request and motion as soon as possible,”

stated the motion. The recently filed motion does not explain why John Turscak, who is charged with attempted murder, assault with intent to commit murder, and assault with a dangerous weapon for the stabbing on November 24, has chosen to part ways with his legal team.

Turscak, who was serving a 30-year sentence at the Tucson, Arizona penitentiary for multiple crimes committed while working as a federal informant, entered a plea of not guilty on January 5 for the violent assault that took place in the prison’s law library.

“Turscak told corrections officers that he would have killed D.C. [Chauvin] had they not responded so quickly,”

as stated in the criminal complaint, which described the weapon as an

    “improvised knife.”

In a subsequent interview with the FBI, Turscak recanted his earlier confession but proudly emphasized that the attack took place on the infamous

    “Black Friday,”

    which was

“symbolic with the Black Lives Matter movement and the ‘Black Hand’ symbol associated with the Mexican Mafia criminal organization.”

  • Funeral Home Owners Charged After FBI Discovers Stacked Bodies and Infestation of Flies and Maggots at Funeral Home

Funeral Home Owners Charged After FBI Discovers Stacked Bodies and Infestation of Flies and Maggots at Funeral Home

Investigators uncovered shocking conditions inside a Colorado funeral home, as reported by NPR News

An FBI agent testified that upon entering the premises, they were met with a distressing sight of stacks of partially covered human remains, bodily fluids pooling on the floor, and an infestation of flies and maggots throughout the building. Text messages exchanged between the funeral home’s owners revealed their mounting financial debts and fears of being caught mishandling the bodies.

A co-owner proposed disposing of the bodies by burying them in a lye-treated hole or burning them.

Almost 200 abandoned bodies, 23 were from 2019, and 61 were from 2020, including adults, infants, and fetuses, according to FBI agent Andrew Cohen. The remains were stored at room temperature in a neglected building in Penrose, a small town in the Rocky Mountains.

“It looked like something you’d like to forget but can’t,”

Cohen explained during a hearing for one of the funeral home’s co-owners.

Prosecutors found animal remains and bags of concrete at the scene. Disturbingly, some families received fake ashes instead of their loved ones’ cremated remains.

Reports of a foul smell led to the discovery of the bodies. Funeral home owners Carie and Jon Hallford were arrested in Oklahoma for allegedly fleeing Colorado to avoid prosecution.

The Hallfords are facing numerous charges, including abuse of a corpse, theft, money laundering, and forgery. The investigation is ongoing, and affected families have confirmed their worst fears.

  • Diddy Allegedly Cut From Yung Miami’s New Reality Show Amid Sexual Assault Lawsuits

Diddy Allegedly Cut From Yung Miami’s New Reality Show Amid Sexual Assault Lawsuits

Caresha Brownlee, famously known as Yung Miami, has a new reality show based on her life coming out on BET. However, it seems that Diddy will not be making any appearances on the show. The founder of Bad Boy Entertainment will continue to keep a low profile due to the ongoing sexual assault lawsuits against him.

As you may already know, Miami, 29, and Diddy, whose real name is Sean Combs, 54, have been

    “going together”

for a while now. Nevertheless, BET has chosen to exclude all the scenes from the show that highlight Diddy and their relationship, as reported by The Jasmine Brand.

Sources have revealed that Yung Miami had to create new content to fill the gaps left by the missing scenes.

Yung Miami had previously announced the new project at the 2023 VMA saying,

“I got a reality show coming out, the City Girls dropping an album, my podcast. Just everything.”

A date for the show has not been confirmed.

In November 2023, Diddy swiftly resolved a legal dispute with his ex-girlfriend and artist, Cassie, 37, who had accused him of severe abuse during their ten-year relationship. Shortly thereafter, Diddy faced additional lawsuits from several women alleging sexual assault incidents that allegedly occurred in the 90s and early 2000s. Diddy has vehemently denied all allegations, including those made by Cassie, whose full name is Casandra Ventura.
