18-Year-Old Escapes Kidnappers Home After Being Chained To Bed and Raped For Weeks

A Texas couple is behind bars after they allegedly abducted an 18-year-old woman, kept her chained to a bed inside their home, and raped her for weeks, authorities said per The Post

Jose Reyes, 31, and Jaqueline Macias, 29, were arrested Sunday night after the teen managed to flee their Houston home by climbing out of a window. The victim went knocking on neighbors’ doors who alerted police.

The victim told officers that she had met the male suspect at an unspecified location almost a month ago and he’d convinced her to come to his house, Harris County Constable Mark Herman told the outlet.

“The whole script flipped almost immediately, and she was immediately held captive, tied up, and held in a room for approximately 30 days,”

    Herman told a press conference.

“At some point after they basically started holding her against her will, they began sexually assaulting her and other things. Just a very, very evil thing.”

The young woman was found with marks on her hands and legs, according to Herman. She was taken to a local hospital for treatment. Her current condition has not been disclosed.

Reyes and Macias both face kidnapping charges, but authorities say additional charges are possible pending further investigation. Macias is being held on a $50,000 bond while Reyes was held on a $100,000 bond, reports note.

Investigators are probing into the nature of the relationship between the victim and her attackers and whether a missing report was filed for the teen.

  • Live Nation Says Travis Scott’s Concert At Egypt’s Giza Pyramids ‘Not Canceled’ After Egypt Musicians’ Union Banned Show Citing ‘Strange Rituals’

Live Nation Says Travis Scott’s Concert At Egypt’s Giza Pyramids ‘Not Canceled’ After Egypt Musicians’ Union Banned Show Citing ‘Strange Rituals’

It looks like Travis Scott’s scheduled performance at Egypt‘s Giza pyramids will not be canceled after all, according to Dailymail. The rapper, whose concert was set for July 28th at the famed Giza pyramids was reportedly banned by Egypt’s musicians’ union due to his music going against Egyptian

    “tradition.”

However, according to Live Nation, the planned concert is still in effect.

“There have been no changes to Travis Scott’s show in Egypt,”

the touring company announced in a statement to Billboard.

“Any reports to the contrary are false. We can’t wait to celebrate Utopia with you in Egypt!”

The news comes after Dr. Mohamed Abdullah of The Egyptian Syndicate of Musical Professions told Egypt Today that the concert was canceled.

“Regarding the concert scheduled to be held on 28th July at the Pyramids area in Giza by American rapper Travis Scott, the Musicians Syndicate, as the entity responsible for issuing licenses for music and singing concerts in Egypt, in coordination with the Egyptian Ministry of Culture represented by the Censorship Authority for Artistic Works and the Ministry of Labor, emphasizes the necessity of considering security aspects and obtaining approvals from the relevant authorities as a top priority when organizing concerts. This is to ensure the safety and protection of the audience,”

    he explained.

Dr. Mohamed Abdullah decided to suspend the show,

“after examining the opinions expressed on social networks and the positions of the artist, the union has found images and documented information about the strange rituals he performs which go against our traditions”,

continues the text. Scott’s Road to ‘Utopia’ concert is to promote the rapper’s fourth studio album. However, concerns still surround the artist after his Astroworld music festival that left 10 dead following a crowd surge.

  • FBI Busted Kentucky Man For Trafficking Human Remains From Harvard Morgue, FBI Recovered ’40 Skulls, Spinal Cords, and Other Bones’ In His Home

FBI Busted Kentucky Man For Trafficking Human Remains From Harvard Morgue, FBI Recovered ’40 Skulls, Spinal Cords, and Other Bones’ In His Home

A Kentucky man has been placed behind bars for allegedly trafficking human remains, Insider reported. FBI agents discovered

“approximately 40 human skulls, spinal cords, femurs, and hip bones,”

in the suspect home, according to court documents.

James Nott was apprehended at his home on July 11. FBI agents recovered human remains as well as firearms, inert grenades, and body armor, reports note. A criminal complaint obtained by Insider revealed that Nott was allegedly part of a larger network involved in

“the sale and transportation of fraudulently obtained human remains.”

Before searching the suspect’s home, FBI agents asked Nott if there were any other people in the home, to which he replied,

    “Only my dead friends,”

according to the criminal complaints. Officials discovered several human skulls

    “decorated around the furniture,”

including one placed on top of his mattress. They also retrieved a Harvard Medical School bag, the criminal complaint said.

Cedric Lodge, the Harvard Medical School’s morgue manager, was also indicted last month for selling the remains of people who donated their bodies to Harvard’s anatomical gift program, to the black market. He along with several co-conspirators trafficked,

“heads, brains, skin, bones, and other human remains,”

according to an indictment filed against Harvard’s morgue manager, Cedric Lodge. Lodge reportedly sold

“dissected faces and hired a man to tan human skin ‘to create leather,’”

    according to court documents.

The FBI said Nott was also communicating with potential buyers on Facebook under the alias

    “William Burke.”

He reportedly posted photos of the human body parts

    “for sale.”

The FBI busted a possible customer who was in communication with Nott.

“How much total for the couple and the last video you sent plus the spines,”

the person wrote. The FBI was able to get a lead on a wider network of people involved in human remains trafficking, thanks to Nott’s customer.

Nott was charged with possession of a firearm by a prohibited person, as he is not permitted to own firearms after a 2011 case, according to court records. He remains in the custody of the United States Marshals Service pending additional charges.

A Maryland man was arrested for allegedly posing as a cop and pulling over a civilian who later alerted police, FOX News reported.

Greenbelt police said they arrested Carl Colston, 47, in connection to the July 8th incident. The suspect is accused of conducting an illegal traffic stop on the off-ramp of Greenbelt Road at 201 Northbound in the city of Greenbelt, reports reveal.

The victim told police that Colston began tailing his vehicle and started honking and flashing his white interior lights. When the driver signaled Colston to go around him, he passed him waiving a badge.

Colston then blocked the roadway with his car causing the victim to come to a stop, before driving back behind the victim like a police officer to continue to attempt his traffic stop. The suspect reportedly had on a Maryland Marshal tactical vest, showed the victim a badge, claimed he was an officer, and called for backup using a handheld radio, reports state.

The victim told police that Colston approached his vehicle clutching his black pistol but did not point it at him. He did lift the gun to make it visible to the victim, however. When the victim told Colston he was calling the police and recording him, Colston got back in his car and drove off.

  • Son Stole $70K From His Grieving Dad By Putting On Deceased Mom’s Voice To Transfer Funds To His Account

Son Stole $70K From His Grieving Dad By Putting On Deceased Mom’s Voice To Transfer Funds To His Account

Police arrested a man they say stole $70,000 from his grieving dad by posing as his deceased mother to transfer funds, per the NY Post

Daniel Cuthbert, 42, is accused of withdrawing and transferring money from his father’s accounts to his account over 14 months. Cuthbert allegedly pretended to be his deceased mother by

    “[putting] on a female voice”

to authorize transfers on several occasions. In some instances, he would also pose as his father during his phone calls to the bank.

When his father noticed the missing money from his account he confronted Cuthbert however, the father, overwhelmed with grief, overlooked his son’s iniquity. In 2018, the dad received a visit from the United Kingdom buildings society which notified him that he was on the verge of losing his property because of his debts. The Northamptonshire Police’s Volume Fraud team opened an investigation into the case and Cuthbert was arrested.

“This was a really despicable abuse of trust by this man who falsely represented his father and even his late mother, in order to defraud them out of more than £56,000 [$73,384],”

Sergeant Mike Rogers told South West News Service.

According to the outlet, Cuthbert also took out loans in his father’s name, which later caused him to lose his home, due to the amount of debt piled up.

“This was a complex investigation, but due to some excellent work by the lead investigator, Cuthbert has been jailed and will now have plenty of time to reflect on his actions,”

    Rogers said.

“We hope this brings some closure to the victim who was put through a horrendous ordeal by his son only months after losing his wife.”

  • California Park Employee Accidentally Runs Over and Kills Sleeping Homeless Woman With Lawnmower, Family Seeking Justice

California Park Employee Accidentally Runs Over and Kills Sleeping Homeless Woman With Lawnmower, Family Seeking Justice

Sadly a homeless mother, who was in sleeping in a California park, was run over and killed by a lawnmower, reports the NY Post

27-year-old Christine Chavez was reportedly resting in a tall grass field at Beard Brook Park in Modesto when she was fatally struck by a John Deere tractor that had a pull-behind mower. The employee driving the truck said he didn’t see the sleeping woman when mowing the area until after

“he had already made a pass through,”

    according to Modesto police.

The employee notified authorities who later pronounced Chavez dead at the scene.

Chavez was reportedly living on the street for the last three or four years and frequently slept in parks. She leaves behind a 9-year-old daughter.

The family of Chavez said they are having a hard time mourning the death of their loved one after coming to the scene and seeing

    “chunks”

of her remains still in the grass.

“We have to go see the place because we wanted some kind of closure, and to be right there, looking at the ground, and then all of a sudden, seeing chunks of her, is horrible,”

the victim’s sister Rosalinda told FOX 40.

“Even when they go and pick up a dog from the street they take more time.”

The family believes the irresponsible handling of Chavez’s body is due to her being one of the city’s thousands of homeless residents.

“We want ordinances to change so it doesn’t happen again. Regardless if they are homeless they are still people and should be treated the same as any other people,”

    Rosalinda said.

  • $200B Stolen In PPP Loans Was Used On Lamborghinis, Beach Houses and Jewelry, The ‘Worst In History’

$200B Stolen In PPP Loans Was Used On Lamborghinis, Beach Houses and Jewelry, The ‘Worst In History’

According to the Small Business Administration’s Office of Inspector General, tens of thousands of PPP loan fraudsters used the funds to purchase luxury goods including Lamborghinis, vacation homes, private jet flights, and Cartier jewelry to name a few. The country lost an estimated $200 billion in COVID relief funds due to the system being so easy to manipulate, says the NY Post

During the COVID-19 pandemic, Congress issued $1.2 trillion in 2020 and 2021 in COVID relief funds for businesses through the Economic Injury Disaster Loan Program (EIDLP) and the Paycheck Protection Program (PPP).

According to the SBA, they have estimated over 90,000

    “actionable leads,”

including several celebrities who participated in the COVID loan schemes.

“The fraud was so easy to commit. All of the information was self-reported and none of it was verified or checked,”

Haywood Talcove of LexisNexis Risk Solutions told The Post.

“During the height of the pandemic, it was really hard to purchase [luxury] items like a Rolls-Royce, or a high-end Mercedes because you had people walking in with cash from the PPP program to purchase those items for whatever the dealer was asking,”

    Talcove said.

Former NFL player Josh Bellamy was one of the many PPP loan scammers. He reportedly collected a $1.2 million loan for his company, Drip Entertainment LLC, in 2021 after falsifying documents and providing false information.

The Jets wide receiver later confessed that he used the money to pay for a stay at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Hollywood, Fla., and jewelry. He also admitted to dishing out more than $311,000 to a reported accomplice.

Baby Blue of Pretty Ricky was released from prison earlier this year after serving a year of his 20-month sentence for PPP fraud. Blue was accused of

“filing fake applications to obtain funds through the U.S. Paycheck Protection Program,”

reports reveal. He now owes over a million dollars in restitution.

  • Woman Allegedly Sold 50 Fentanyl-laced Pills To Undercover Officer After Robert De Niro’s Grandson Died In Overdose, Indictment Says

Woman Allegedly Sold 50 Fentanyl-laced Pills To Undercover Officer After Robert De Niro’s Grandson Died In Overdose, Indictment Says

The woman accused of selling fentanyl-laced pills that killed Robert De Niro‘s grandson, Leandro De Niro-Rodriguez, sold pills to an undercover cop two weeks after, Insider reported.

Sophia Marks, 20, is accused of selling

    “50 counterfeit fentanyl-laced oxycodone pills”

to an undercover cop, prosecutors stated in an indictment filed Friday. Marks allegedly sold the same pills to De Niro-Rodriguez along with two tablets of Xanax which led to his demise. Rodriguez’s cause of death was due to one of the oxycodone pills he ingested, according to the outlet.

Two weeks later Marks connected with an undercover officer with the intent to sell, the indictment says.

“[Marks] sold a total of 50 suspected counterfeit oxycodone pills to an undercover police officer,”

according to charging documents obtained by Insider.

“On or about July 13, 2023, following her second sale to the [undercover officer], [Marks] was arrested and found to be in possession of approximately 156 more suspected counterfeit oxycodone pills and approximately $1,500 in cash.”

The victim, 19 years old, was discovered in his lower Manhattan apartment on July 2, reports reveal.

“The arrest was critical because, as we allege, Marks knew the pills could kill, and she continued selling them anyway. The investigation is ongoing,”

Manhattan US Attorney Damian Williams said in a statement.

“Fentanyl is now the number one killer of Americans between the ages of 18 and 49. More than cancer, car accidents, or gun violence. It is a law enforcement crisis and a public health crisis. And we are doing everything we can to stop it.”

Marks was arrested Friday and has not entered a plea deal, according to Inner City Press.
