Detective Accused Of Sexually Assaulting Homicide Victim’s Mother, Lawsuit Says

A woman has taken on a federal lawsuit against a Philadelphia homicide detective who allegedly sexually assaulted and harassed her while investigating her son’s murder, Fox News reported.

The mother, who tragically lost her son to gun violence on Nov. 2, 2020, is now pursuing a lawsuit against the detective in charge of the case. According to a court filing obtained by Fox News, the woman who is referred to as Jane Doe is suing detective Donald Suchinsky,

    “a seasoned investigator,”

for sexual assault and harassment after he allegedly made several unwanted advances on her.

Suchinsky reportedly called the victim from an office phone

“and told her there were ‘things’ he wanted to do to her, but he could not say what they were,”

the lawsuit claims. The lawsuit also accuses Suchinsky of asking the woman for images. Other officers were allegedly aware of Suchinsky inappropriate behavior but did not intervene.

The lawsuit went on to say that Suchinsky went as far as to invite the woman to police headquarters and then sexually assaulted her in her car. After the alleged assault the woman asked if a different detective could be assigned to her case but no efforts were taken, according to the civil complaint. Suchinsky continued to spend months harassing the grieving mother, sending distasteful emails and phone calls, reports note.

According to court records, it appears that Suchinsky has been listed in at least three prior federal lawsuits against the city. However, the cases filed in 2019, 2010, and 1999 were all dismissed. Fox News reached out to the Philadelphia Police Department for answers to which they responded,

“The PPD cannot comment on the specifics of these allegations due to an active Internal Affairs investigation, as well as pending litigation.”

  • American Cancer Patient Develops Permanent Irish Accent, Researchers Say

American Cancer Patient Develops Permanent Irish Accent, Researchers Say

An American Cancer patient developed a case of Foreign Accent Syndrome (FAS) causing him to speak with a permanent Irish accent in what doctors believe to be a

“neurological disorder triggered by his immune system,”

    NY Post reported.

The unnamed man who is reportedly in his 50s had undergone treatment for his prostate cancer at Duke University in Durham, NC, when he acquired the unusual disorder. The man has never spoken with an

    “Irish brogue accent”

before his diagnosis, according to a report published in the January issue of BMJ Case Reports.

“His accent was uncontrollable, present in all settings and gradually became persistent,”

according to the report, which was co-authored by researchers from Carolina Urologic Research Center in South Carolina.

However, researchers noted that the man lived in England for a short time and had Irish friends and family members. Doctors say, the condition is known as a paraneoplastic neurological disorder, which is

“set off as the patient’s immune system fought the cancer.”

It is possible that the patient’s cancer-fighting agents attacked parts of his brain, spinal cord, peripheral nerves, or muscle, resulting in the foreign accent syndrome, according to the report. Over time, the man developed paralysis in his legs and arms, which the researchers said is a sign of

    “paraneoplastic syndrome,”

    before eventually dying.

“To our knowledge, this is the first case of FAS described in a patient with prostate cancer and the third described in a patient with malignancy,”

    the report states.

  • The Church Of England Is Considering Giving God Gender-Neutral Pronouns

The Church Of England Is Considering Giving God Gender-Neutral Pronouns

It looks like the Church of England is leaning towards changing God’s pronouns to ‘they’ and ‘them’ to encourage

    “inclusivity”,

    NY Post reported.

The church, which is led by King Charles III, announced that its Liturgical Commission has inaugurated a

    “special project”

to look into updating future teachings, which will go into effect later this year.

“After some dialogue between the two Commissions in this area, a new joint project on gendered language will begin this spring,”

said Rev Dr. Michael Ipgrave, Bishop of Lichfield and vice-chair of the liturgical commission responsible for the change.

“In common with other potential changes to authorized liturgical provision, changing the wording and number of authorized forms of absolution would require a full Synodical process for approval.”

According to the New York Post, some have already modified certain references such as replacing

    “he” and “him”

    with just God or

    “they” and “them.”

They have also changed the Lord’s Prayer from

“Our Father” to “Our Father and Mother.”

The Church of England’s spokesperson told Reuters that,

“Christians have recognized since ancient times that God is neither male nor female… The variety of ways of addressing and describing God found in scripture has not always been reflected in our worship. There has been greater interest in exploring new language since the introduction of our current forms of service in contemporary language more than 20 years ago.”
