Erika Woods and Wendell Pierce Make Their Debut Appearance As Snaps and Pop In Season 3 of Powerbook III: Raising Kanan

Wendall Pierce and Erika Woods make their debut appearance in season three of Power Book III: Raising Kanan as Ishmael ‘Snaps’ Henry and Stephanie ‘Pop’ Henry. Their characters are introduced to the audience as married and retired Og’s in the drug game. Upon introduction to their character, immediately you witness their playful dynamic. The two are clearly enjoying retirement but when Ronnie comes to them for advice you see their level of wiseness and levelheaded demeanor.

Wendall and Erika gave us some insight into who their characters are and what roles their characters will play during the climactic time of the season. Now that all the heavy hitters have been taken out or have taken a step back from the drug game, Wendell hinted that the couple may be looking into coming out of retirement.

“The thing that has lasted is our trust in each other. While others you see throughout that there’s sort of a distrust that people develop with each other… If you have a trust with someone you are going to be a lot more successful and at the same time you’re protected because you have someone to have your back… That’s the benefit of being an OG, that’s the knowledge that these young bucks could learn from us.”

And don’t mistake their calm demeanor for weakness. When asked who should the audience be more afraid of, Ronnie or the Henry’s, Erika and Wendell let us know they’re not one to be underestimated.

“Ain’t nobody scared of Ronnie, that’s our son,”

    Erika stated.

“It’s always the people you don’t expect to be the dangerous ones and we kill them with kindness, remember that. While everyone else is afraid of Ronnie, he don’t want this smoke.”

#Clique, Stay tuned for more of Snaps and Pop this season on Powerbook III: Raising Kanan.

  • Boosie BadAzz Weighs In On The Underpaid Black Women Trending Issue

Boosie BadAzz Weighs In On The Underpaid Black Women Trending Issue

If it’s hot and sizzling, Bossie BadAzz will get on it, and that is what he recently did about the issue of black women being underpaid. The rapper joined the list of celebrities who side with the claim that in the industry, they have been served the race card.

Boosie BadAzz Moves A Cause For Underpaid Black Women in the Industry

The latest known face talking about black women getting underpaid is Boosie BadAzz. In a new clip, he admitted that everyone was getting on the trendy topic, and it seemed more believable because of the shared stories. However, he recalled that Mo’Nique was one of the earliest actresses to share her distress.

    Per HotNewHipHop, he shared:

“Mo’Nique been told y’all. They paid Brad Pitt $25 million and gave her $150K. But when people start opening their mouth up, it becomes reality. […] Power comes in numbers.”

After years of airing her disappointment in the pay disparity for black women and men, Mo’Nique finally fought a legal battle in 2022. She slammed Netflix with a lawsuit explaining that they failed to pay her the same salary as her male contemporaries in a comedy special.

Taraji P. Henson Shares Her Experience As An Underpaid Black Woman in Hollywood

Despite having her peak season following the Empire series, Taraji said she suffered some setbacks. Her team failed to deliver, and she fired them. But the one thing she could not control was her earnings. No matter how hard she worked, there was not enough money to show for it.

During her interview with Gayle King, she said:

“I’m tired of hearing my sisters say the same thing over and over. You get tired. I hear people go, ‘You work a lot.’ I have to. The math ain’t mathing.”

A host of other celebrities chimed in support, noting that Taraji was not alone and they had suffered the same fate. Gabrielle Union, Viola Davis, Keke Palmer, and rapper Chance The Rapper shared their two cents.

50 Cent Comes To Terrence Howard’s Aid Following His CAA Lawsuit

Terrence Howard did not call for backup on his CAA lawsuit, but 50 Cent says he will get the actor’s money. The rapper seems to be on the lookout for underpaid actors from Empire.

50 Cent Reacts To Terrence Howard’s Lawsuit

50 Cent first teamed up with Terrace on his 2005’s Get Rich or Die Tryin’ semi-autobiography. The men are yet to collaborate on any hit project but the rapper seems to have his back.

At the moment, Fox Network and 50 Cent have agreed on a production deal, and the rapper is leveraging his influence to score Terrence a favor. Via Instagram post dropped on January 4, he quipped:

This is not the only Empire star who has complained about being ripped off or underpaid. Terrence’s on-screen wife, Cookie, played by Taraji P. Henson, cited the race cards as the reason for being underpaid. HipHopDX reported that 50 Cent also drummed support for her. Online, he goes:

“They dropped the ball fvck em @tarajiphenson I’m ready to work let’s get it! GLG GreenLightGang G-unit Film&Tv.”

Neither Terrence nor Taraji have acknowledged 50 Cent’s comments publicly. The actors are also yet to comment on their interest in working with the Power exec.

    Terrence Howard’s CAA Lawsuit

On TV, the Empire star “Lyon patriarch” would have gotten his pound of flesh by hook or crook. Likewise, in reality, Terrence is telling the world that he got cheated by Creative Arts Agency via a lawsuit — and he wants the scores settled.

Last year, Terrence Howard filed a lawsuit against CAA, citing a lack of priority for him. Rather than put him on the priority list, CAA focused on Empire producers and the Fox Network.

Terrence cited “packaging” as the number one cause, maintaining that the agency received a cut from the studio after linking talent to a project.

James Bryant, Terrence’s attorney, laid bare the complexities of the lawsuit against CAA over a press conference. In his words:

“Over the last several years, agencies have become much more powerful and found a much more lucrative way of making money. It’s by being the packaging agent, where you represent actors, producers, production companies, and your own financial interest.”

On top of that, Terrence alleged that he was underpaid because of the color of his skin. The Empire star racked up $325,000 per episode. When compared to House of Cards star Kevin Spacey and Mad Men actor Jon Hamm, it was about $175,000 short.

  • Michael Blackson Aims At Katt Williams’ Career And Looks After The Veteran Tugged At His Accent

Michael Blackson Aims At Katt Williams’ Career And Looks After The Veteran Tugged At His Accent

Michael Blackson has joined the league of early responders to Katt Williams’ criticism. The comedian validated himself as a successful celebrity while taking dips at Katt for having a failed career. All these came moments after Williams’ interview with Shannon Sharpe.

    Katt Williams Criticizes Michael Blackson

It seems like there is nobody Katt Williams cannot hit. During his several-hour appearance on Shannon Sharpe’s Club Shay Shay, the veteran comedian went on a ranting spree. When he finally settled on Michael, things turned out to be a battle of roots for Katt.

While addressing if he has ever been booed on stage, the comedian said it was a learning curve for every successful comedian. He added:

“Most comedians don’t get booed enough. That’s how you end up with Michael Blackson, who is a real African, doin a fake African accent.”

Somewhere along the line, Katt talked about why he might have fallen out with Michael. The seasoned comedian maintained that a piece of simple advice was enough to anger him.

“This guy is mad at me and all I did was give him the best advice of his life […] I told him he needed to dress to be in the position that he’s tryna say that he’s in. If you gon’ say that [you’re the ‘African King of Comedy’], go get a school. You gotta put in some work and these guys, they take my advice. They change their whole persona and then, they hate me for it.”

Michael Blackson Defends His “Fake” African Accent

Before the news of a Katt diss spread around town, Micheal served up his own menu. The Ghanaian-Liberian comedian went on X to write:

“I’m so confused, I’m African with a fake African accent. My accent had me roasted every day in school and in the comedy clubs in America and I wish I could get rid of it, even my Philly accent is fake. I guess the only thing real about me is my deek.”

After addressing the fake African accent, Michael, who launched his Michael Blackson Academy a year ago, added, “I can’t believe this lying dehydrated leprechaun said he told me to build a school lmao.”
Michael did not spare Katt’s career the diss as he mentioned that the comedian was merely trying to stay relevant. As reported by VIBE, he claimed that Katt was a shadow of himself.

This is not the only person who seems clueless about Katt’s allegations. Cedric, whom he accused of stealing his joke, maintained that it was all false. Shannon’s guest also claimed Ludacris joined the Illuminati, to which the rapper has released a diss rap denying Katt’s allegations.

  • Jonathan Majors Will Sit With ABC News Anchor Linsey Davis For His First Interview Following Guilty Verdict

Jonathan Majors Will Sit With ABC News Anchor Linsey Davis For His First Interview Following Guilty Verdict

Jonathan Majors’s lawyer promises that the actor will clear his name, but will it be done in the upcoming GMA interview? This is a question that can only be answered after the actor sits for the interview.

    Jonathan Majors On GMA Interview

Jonathan agreed to have a GMA interview that will be televised to the world. This comes shortly after he was ruled as the guilty party in his sexual assault case. As per VIBE, this tell-all was orchestrated by an agreement between the actor and Disney-controlled ABC News.

ABC presenter Linsey Davis will sit him down, asking questions on the minds of fans and critics. Their discussion will air on January 8. GMA3 will also broadcast other segments of the interview. Other televised episodes will premiere on Davis’s Prime News. Fans will catch more Hulu-exclusive specials on IMPACT × Nightline on January 11.

For now, fans are yet to know what the discussion will entail, but many questions will be answered. Without reference to the interview, his lawyer wrote in a statement:

“Mr. Majors still has faith in the process and looks forward to fully clearing his name.”

Jonathan Majors Guilty Verdict From Jury After Weeks Of Trial

The first big blow struck on Majors was in the earlier months of 2023. He was accused of harassment and assault towards his girlfriend, Grace Jabbari, in March 2023. The actor denied all the claims, emphasizing that Grace was the violent one.

Following a guilty verdict on Dec. 18, Majors’ attorney maintained that the jury seemed less moved by Jabbari’s account of the story. She added via a statement:

“It is clear that the jury did not believe Grace Jabbari’s story of what happened in the SUV because they found that Mr. Majors did not intentionally cause any injuries to her. We are grateful for that. We are disappointed, however, that despite not believing Ms. Jabbari, the jury nevertheless found that Mr. Majors was somehow reckless while she was attacking him.”

Jonathan Sidelined Due to Assault Charges

Sadly, before enough evidence began to circulate, Majors lost major deals. His management dropped him, and other deals, including partnerships, and distanced themselves from the star.

The last straw that broke the camel’s back was the Marvel deal. After years of working with the MCU studios and a budding career, the production dissociated from him. Recall that the 34-year-old had played Kang the Conqueror in the film Ant-Man: Quantuamania, and Loki Series. He was about to pad his resume with a big role in Avengers: Kang Dynasty, but that dream will not come true— at least not now.

  • Cedric The Entertainer Reacts To Katt Williams’ Joke Theft Accusation

Cedric The Entertainer Reacts To Katt Williams’ Joke Theft Accusation

Cedric The Entertainer is not ready to be webbed into a social media entertainment battle with Katt Williams. Despite being slammed by the comedian who maintained he stole his joke, Cedric signs off with a slight “I don’t care message.”

Katt Williams On Shanon Sharpe Saying Cedric Stole His Joke

It might have happened years ago, but Katt Williams has refused to get Cedric The Entertainer out of his head. During an appearance on Shannon Sharpe’s Club Shay Shay, Williams circled in on his dissatisfaction with his contemporary.

Amid having claimed success in their different careers, Shannon’s guest said he was played as a new comedian. Cedric already knew his onions at the time, but Katt, a less popular comedian, was robbed of a joke. He shared:

“This is not just a random joke, this is my best joke…it’s my closing joke. 1998, I’m doing this … Two years later, he’s doing that as his last joke on The [Original] Kings Of Comedy and he’s doing it verbatim, he just changed my car into a spaceship.”

Katt Williams ended his rant with a joke at Cedric, making fun of his size and career. In his words:

“He over here looking like a walrus…Remember when Cedric The Entertainer starts he’s supposed to be singing, dancing, and telling jokes that’s why he’s called Cedric The Entertainer. We found out he can’t sing, can’t dance, and doesn’t write jokes…He did four comedy specials. They’re so bad, Shannon, they’re not on Netflix or TUBI.”

Cedric The Entertainer Responds To Katt Williams Joke On Shannon Sharpe’s Interview

Cedric The Entertainer took to social media confidently, assuring fans that there was nothing to worry about. He explained that Katt’s hate for his career would not shut out his achievements. The 59-year-old boasted about his resume, including forty films, specials, and his brand name, before adding:

“And all that tough talk! Is corny af I’m grown a** man. And none of that sh*t gonna go like you think. You do you and I got this over here..”

This is not the first time that he has addressed the joke theft situation for Katt. According to The Jasmine Brand, back in 2021, the 52-year-old launched at Cedric, explaining that he stole his joke. This time, the defendant took a jibe at Katt, claiming he was unaware of his comedy career and had done the joke for years.

  • Zendaya Starts The Year Afresh With Zero Instagram “Following”

Zendaya Starts The Year Afresh With Zero Instagram “Following”

Those who had Zendaya on their followers list on Instagram will see that she is no longer on the record. The actress sparked rumors following her new stunt as she unfollowed even her beau, Tom Holland.

Zendaya Unfollows Even Tom Holland On Instagram

Not even our friendly Neighborhood Spiderman survived Zendaya’s Instagram cleansing. The 27-year-old decided to begin the new year by following no accounts. Zendaya’s unfollow menu was served to friends, family, and associates, including Tom Holland, her boyfriend.

Even though the actress has left everyone speechless with this step, she is yet to make a statement. Funnily, the statement-worthy move comes in time for her new movie.

ET Online confirmed that before unfollowing Tom, Zendaya wished her Instagram fans a happy new year. At the same time, she shared her upcoming film Challengers. The snap highlighted the film’s poster, which is a tennis-based movie.

Zendaya could be spotted hiding her eyes behind purple sunglasses with mirror frames. Photos of her co-stars Josh O’Connor and Mike Faist reflected on the glasses.

Challengers is not the only new film with Zendaya on it. Fans will see the model in Dune Part 2. She will appear side by side with Austin Butler, Florence Pugh, and Timothée Chalamet. The movie will hit the cinemas in March, while Challengers will follow in April.

Fans may not have to worry about Zendaya and Tom’s romance despite the unfollowing on Instagram. In October, the couple jetted to West London for an intimate time. The paparazzi saw them having a romantic walk during their time there.

Things appeared to be going extra smoothly for them that fans had believed they were engaged. The rumors began with Zendaya dropping a confusing image on her Instagram story. In the image, a conspicuous ring sat on her finger. However, she later dismissed the news, adding, “Seriously, you think that’s how I would drop the deuce? Like, what?!”

  • Renee Poche From Love Is Blind Season 5 Points Accusing Fingers At Netflix and Delirium TV for Negligence and Use Of Force

Renee Poche From Love Is Blind Season 5 Points Accusing Fingers At Netflix and Delirium TV for Negligence and Use Of Force

Love Is Blind is in a lawsuit battle involving Netflix and Delirium TV with season 5 contestant Renee Poche concerning Carter Wall. According to Poche, Love Is Blind turned a blind eye to her ex-fiance, Wall’s, flaws. The show continued filming, forcing her to work with him. However, her cut never made it into production.

Love Is Blind Season 5 Lawsuit Involving Renee Poche Versus Netflix And Delirium TV

Netflix and Delirium TV are on the receiving end of the Love Is Blind Season 5 lawsuit. According to the filing obtained by People, Renee Poche explained that she was paired with Carter Wall, who was “a walking red flag.”

Once she noticed, she immediately informed Netflix and Delirium TV, but according to Renee, she was forced to continue. What might have seemed unbearable for Renee behind the camera was to look perfect in front of it as she proceeded with an engagement.

The Love Is Blind lawsuit from the season 5 contestant was met with resistance from the defendants. Netflix and Delirium TV maintained that the former contestant owed them $4 million following her breach of contract. They cited the NDA signed, but Renee has fired back, stating that the contract was “illegal and unenforceable.”

Renee did not make it to the finished material but claimed to have suffered tremendously. Via a statement, she explained that it was a traumatic experience, adding:

“I felt like a prisoner and had no support when I let Delirium know that I didn’t feel safe. I tried to deal with these emotions over time and eventually felt like I needed to share what had happened. I felt it was only right to let others know the truth of what all of the castmates had to endure.”

This is not the first time that Love Is Blind will be hit by a lawsuit from a season 5 contestant. However, the production company has loudly expressed their innocence, claiming that no contestant is bound by contract to remain while filming.

Chris Coelen, Love Is Blind creator, told People:

“The participants are not under our control. They are living their lives. We come in, we film them for a period of time, we leave. They can leave — as many, many, many people have before — anytime they want.”

Neither Carter Wall nor Netflix and Delirium TV have reacted to Renee Poche’s lawsuit. But the former contestant stands by her words. Through her lawsuit, she presented different scenarios that allegedly proved that the production was aware of Carter’s emotional instability.
