Margot Robbie Speaks About Her Famous Film Character “Harley Quinn”

    Since the release of

    “Barbie,”

the actress who also portrayed Harley Quinn in

    “The Suicide Squad,”

Margot Robbie, sat down with Variety to discuss her roles as an actor and producer in films.

The actress talked about considering a future in directing, saying,

“I don’t know. The tricky thing is, as much as I say I’m strict about saying no as a producer, I also get so excited about all the things I could produce that it ends up taking up all my time. And as an actor, I get to work with so many brilliant directors and watch them do it. It’s like having a front-row seat to the best master class in the world. So it’s tempting to keep doing that. But directing is a dear ambition of mine.”

When asked if she would be retiring Harley’s bat now that Lady Gaga has taken on the role in the upcoming film

    “Joker: Folie à Deux”

alongside Joaquin Phoenix, the actress had this to say:

“I always wanted Harley to be a character that would be passed on to other actresses to play, the way there are so many iconic male characters. That was always the dream for her. Harley’s so fun and can go in so many different directions. You put her in someone else’s hands, and it’s like, ‘What are they going to do with her?’ The options are endless,”

    says the star of

    “Salt Burn.”

The actress also hinted that she and Barbie director Greta Gerwig predicted the film would make billions at the box office, but they never anticipated an Oscar win.

“We didn’t say, ‘This is going to make it to the Oscars,’”

the film producer and actress said about the current award season.

  • Jordan Peele Reveals His Next Movie Might Just Be His Favorite “If I Make It Right”

Jordan Peele Reveals His Next Movie Might Just Be His Favorite “If I Make It Right”

    The writer and director of

    “Get Out,”

Jordan Peele, recently sat down for a podcast with Conan O’Brien, where he talked about his favorite movies and films that terrified him as a kid.

    During the

    “Need A Friend”

episode, Conan O’Brien says he was happy to have the director on the podcast. Jordan gave Conan his flowers, bestowing upon him the title of

    “The GOAT.”

“The truth of the matter was, I want to say this, on the record, this is such an honor. It’s always such an honor because from us comedy people, you are the GOAT. You know what that means,”

    says Jordan. Conan teased, saying,

“I can get up hard rocky mountains easily, I can digest in cans. That is so nice of you to say.”

Conan asked the director how it all began for him.

“Where do these minds come from? At what point do you realize, ‘I think of very strange things and I like comedy,’ or was your first true love film or comedy or both, or horror? Where does it all start?”

“I probably fell in love with comedy at the same time I was getting scared by stuff. I mean scared as a kid, you know, a kid growing up in New York. I grew up next to a building called the Stratford Arms, a hotel for transients, and it had very interesting characters. I had a very blessed upper west side upbringing. It was cultured and privileged, but there was also a creepiness to it. So those two things collided side by side, and they did in film for me.”

“This has been… obviously, it’s been an interesting year because the writer’s strike had me in a state of listening, and that’s where I need to be. I do feel like my next project is clear to me, and I am psyched that I have another film that, you know, could be my favorite movie if I make it right.”

    The director’s 2022 film

    “Nope”

earned him a massive box office hit, grossing over $44 million in the first weekend. The film stars Daniel Kaluuya and Keke Palmer.
