  • New HIV Case Linked To ‘Vampire Facial’ Procedure At Unlicensed New Mexico Spa

New HIV Case Linked To ‘Vampire Facial’ Procedure At Unlicensed New Mexico Spa

A person has recently tested positive for HIV after receiving a

    “vampire facial”

procedure at a New Mexico spa that has since been shut down, NY Post reported.

VIP Spa in Albuquerque was shut down in September 2018 by the New Mexico Department of Health after 2 people tested positive for HIV. Now as of recently, a new case has been reported of a former customer who tested positive for the virus after receiving the same procedure. The facial, which cost $100 to do, is done by taking a person’s blood and then reinjecting parts of the blood back into the skin via micro-needling.

DOH and the New Mexico Regulation and Licensing Department discovered that the facility was conducting business in a way that jeopardized

“the spread of blood-borne infections such as HIV,”

    reports reveal.

Maria de Lourdes Ramos de Ruiz, who worked at the spa conducted vampire facials without a medical license, and the spa’s owner, only had a cosmetologist license, which had expired in 2013, state investigators found, according to the Albuquerque Journal. Ruiz, 59, was charged with

“racketeering, fraud, five counts of practicing medicine without a license, six counts of money laundering, four counts of tax evasion, and seven counts of willful failure to collect and pay taxes.”

Over 100 former VIP Spa clients were tested for the virus, following the investigation. Due to the new case an investigation has been reopened. Health officials are urging anyone who had services at the VIP Spa to get tested for HIV, hepatitis B, and hepatitis C.

“It’s very important that we spread the word and remind people who received any kind of injection related to services provided at the VIP Spa to come in for free and confidential testing,”

said Dr. Laura Parajon, deputy secretary for DOH.

  • Threads Users Outraged After Learning They Can’t Delete Their Accounts Without Losing Their Instagram Profiles, Meta Says ‘We’re Working On’ It

Threads Users Outraged After Learning They Can’t Delete Their Accounts Without Losing Their Instagram Profiles, Meta Says ‘We’re Working On’ It

It looks like Meta is still working out some kinks with its new social media platform Threads. Users came forward and expressed concerns over the app deleting their Instagram profiles if they chose to delete their Threads account, according to a spokesperson per Insider. Now Meta is going back in to see how they can fix it.

According to the Supplemental Privacy Policy for the app,

“Your Threads profile is part of your Instagram account, and may be deleted at any time by deleting your Instagram account.”

In order for users to have a Threads account they must already have an Instagram account. Initially, when entering the app it even asks if users would like to import bio information and followers from their existing Instagram profile.

“This is something we’re working on,”

a Meta spokesperson told Insider. As an alternative Meta says users can deactivate their profile, meaning posts will be temporarily disabled until they choose to reactivate it, at any time without it affecting their Instagram account.

Threads, Metas rival app to Twitter, was launched on July 6, receiving 10 million users in just 7 hours of its launch, according to a post on the platform by Mark Zuckerberg. This is record breaking compared to its other social media competitors.

Since its launch Twitter has threatened to sue Meta over the app due to its striking similarities. Twitter CEO Elon Musk’s and his attorney Alex Spiro even calling the app a Twitter

    “copycat.”

A letter written to Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg, accuses him of hiring former Twitter employees, who were previously laid off by Musk, to make the social media app.

“No one on the Threads engineering team is a former Twitter employee — that’s just not a thing,”

Meta’s communications director Andy Stone wrote in a Threads post.

A father is in a dilemma and has revealed some shocking news in a Facebook parenting group this week as he called for advice. The anonymous man wrote a post in the group revealing that his 13-year-old son is a

    “repeat sex offender”

while admitting that he didn’t know how to

    “handle it.”

“Last year, I won full physical custody of my son when he was nearly 12 and I’ve had him a little over a year now. Before [getting custody from his mother], I had spoken with his school, and long story short, they said he was very disrespectful and out of control. He nearly got himself expelled for threatening another child with a hypothetical gun he allegedly had in his backpack,”

    the father wrote.

The father went on to say that he has been witnessing odd actions from his son, which include him watching

    “violent porn”

    The father added,

“About three days ago, [a friend of my son] told me my son raped [a] girl. She told me that the girl told her that my son put his privates in her butt. I went and got my son and asked the girl to repeat it while he was standing there and she told him the same thing and without any sign of remorse he just simply denied it with a blank stare.”

His son’s younger brother admitted that his brother raped the girl and revealed that he threatened to murder him if he told.

The minor victim informed the father

“He did things to me and hurt my feelings.”

The father admitted that he is concerned his son will be reported and go to jail if he seeks help. However, many people chimed in and offered advice. One person commented,

“You can’t change his behavior, he needs serious help.”

Doctors Shocked After Discovering Octopus In Patient’s Throat

Doctors were shocked after learning that an octopus was the cause of an unidentified man’s throat pain. According to the New York Post, doctors discovered that the eight-legged octopus was surprisingly stuck in his throat. The unnamed man realized there was an issue when he began to vomit after consuming a meal that contained the cephalopod, which is an entity of the molluscan class which includes octopus, squid, and more.

The man also had issues swallowing causing him to go to the hospital. Officials conducted a scan that showcased a dense view of his esophagus. Luckily, medical experts were able to extract the octopus after guiding

“an endoscope past the octopus into the stomach and retroflexed it,”

    reports The Post. Reports added,

“They then used forceps to grasp the critter’s head and remove it from the patient.”

Thankfully, the man had a successful recovery following the procedure

  • Man Pleaded Guilty To The 2021 Murder Of His Former Girlfriend After Kidnapping and Burying Her Alive

Man Pleaded Guilty To The 2021 Murder Of His Former Girlfriend After Kidnapping and Burying Her Alive

A man, Tarikjot Singh, has pleaded guilty to murder after kidnapping his former girlfriend, Jasmeen Kaur, back in March 2021 and then burying her alive, reports The Post. On March 5, Kaur was kidnapped from her job and driven over 400 miles while tied to cable ties in a vehicle Singh borrowed from someone he knew.

Singh then gave the woman surfaced cuts to her throat and buried her in a shallow grave. The cuts to her throat weren’t deep enough to kill her and reports say she was well aware of her surroundings when she later died the next day. Carmen Matteo, the prosecutor said, the murder wasn’t

    “efficient”

    and the victim was

    “made to suffer.”

“She had to have been consciously suffering what could only be described as the absolute terror of breathing in and swallowing soil and dying in that way,”

    said Matteo.

The woman’s family was in court for the sentencing submissions. Reports added that Kaur was killed merely one month after reporting Singh to the authorities for stalking her. According to the court, Singh mapped out the murder because he wasn’t able to get over their failed relationship. The court was informed that the man wrote multiple messages to the victim before she died.

    One message said,

“Your bad luck that I am still alive, cheap, wait and watch, will get the answer, each and every single one will get the answer.”

Singh later took officers to Australia’s Flinders Ranges, where she was buried. Authorities discovered her shoes, glasses, work name badge, and cable ties.

Dad Charges With Murder After Using Hot Water To Discipline His 7-Year-Old Son Resulting In His Death, Police Say

A New Hampshire man is behind bars after he allegedly poured hot water on his 7-year-old to

    “discipline”

him later causing his death from severe burns, per the NY Post.

Murtadah Mohammad, 25, was finally charged with second-degree murder for the tragic death of his son Jaevion Riley who died on Jan. 24. Mohammad had already been charged with

“assault, endangering the welfare of a child and falsifying physical evidence,”

for the same case. Those charges are expected to be dropped and bumped up to the murder charge which will be prosecuted by the state Attorney General’s office, officials said.

On Jan. 17 police were called to a Manchester apartment, where they discovered the boy in the shower with severe burn marks to his face and body, police said. According to a report by NBC Boston, the child was already unconscious and not breathing when they arrived. The boy was taken to a Massachusetts hospital where he was placed in a coma. He died a week later from his injuries.

Mohammad later confessed to using hot water and physical force to discipline his son, the outlet reported citing the dad’s affidavit. The child’s mother, Rainah Riley had previously made a complaint to child services about seeing signs of abuse after the child’s visitation with his dad but nothing was done, reports note.

“This man was trying to kill my child,”

    she told the outlet.

After seeing her son’s injuries she said it looked like they were

    “from boiling water or oil,”

    or he may have been

    “set on fire.”

She also revealed that one of the boy’s teeth had been knocked out and he had a head injury.

“It is absolutely gruesome, it is horrific, and it is sickening to look at,”

    the mom said.

“It makes me physically ill looking at my own son because of what this man did to him.”

“The system has failed not only my child, but so many children,”

    the mom said.

“And something needs to be done, because this isn’t OK. It’s not. Like, when is enough enough?”
