  • Woman Arrested For Concealing Drugs In Private Parts, Fake Heart Attack To Evade Police Suspicion

Woman Arrested For Concealing Drugs In Private Parts, Fake Heart Attack To Evade Police Suspicion

A woman from Indiana has been taken into custody after allegedly faking a heart attack and attempting to hide a sizable bag of illegal drugs in her private parts, reports FOX News.

The Wayne County Sheriff’s Department reported that Amanda Smith, 41, was pulled over by Deputy Ryan Riggs, Deputy Aaron Crawford, and Deputy Matt Wright on September 4. Suspecting drug activity, the officers conducted a search of Smith’s vehicle, which was confirmed by K9 Copper indicating the presence of narcotics. Court documents obtained by FOX 59 Indianapolis revealed that Smith immediately pretended to have a heart attack and prohibited medical professionals from assessing her condition.

Despite being taken to a local hospital, Smith adamantly refused medical treatment and refused to remove her clothing. When she insisted on using the restroom alone, law enforcement officials suspected that she was attempting to conceal drugs and dispose of the evidence.

Nurses reportedly noticed a plastic sandwich bag concealed in her private area. A body scan performed at Wayne County Jail confirmed an abnormality in her pelvic region, but Smith continued to deny any wrongdoing.

Eventually, Smith confessed to hiding drugs in her private parts and handed over an

    “avocado-size plastic sandwich bag”

containing methamphetamine, crack cocaine, and fentanyl, reports note.

Further investigation uncovered more illegal substances in her vehicle, including Gabapentin, Naloxone, and buprenorphine. Additionally, a notebook discovered in the car contained details such as names, weights, dollar amounts, and various drug types. Smith has been arrested and is facing multiple felony charges for drug dealing.

  • Texas Man Sentenced To 40 Years In Prison After Confessing To Brutally Murdering Wife With Nail Gun

Texas Man Sentenced To 40 Years In Prison After Confessing To Brutally Murdering Wife With Nail Gun

Lam Ngoc Tran, a 65-year-old man from Texas, has confessed to the horrific murder of his wife, My Thai Dang. The tragic incident involved Tran brutally attacking his wife with a nail gun in their home, Law&Crime reported.

In a desperate attempt to end his own life, Tran then turned the tool on himself, shooting himself in the face and wrist. However, his suicide attempt was unsuccessful. On Thursday, Judge Veronica M. Nelson of the Harris County District Court sentenced Tran to 40 years in prison for the crime. This decision was based on court records obtained by Law&Crime.

“This is a horrible murder, and it reinforces that the most dangerous time for a battered spouse is when they are trying to leave the relationship,”

Harris County District Attorney Kim Ogg said in a statement following the sentencing hearing.

“This woman was trying to get away from an abusive husband, and the only reason she is dead is because he could not stand to lose control of her.”

In May, Tran confessed to murdering his wife, who had recently filed for divorce. Police were called to their residence on Jan 10, 2022, where they discovered Dang’s lifeless body covered in blood, with severe injuries to her face and head. A bloody nail with human hair was also found nearby.

Tran was found near his wife in the living room with significant facial and bodily injuries. Law enforcement discovered a nail gun and air compressor nearby. An autopsy revealed that Dang’s injuries matched the pattern of the nail gun, indicating she had been struck multiple times.

Tran’s son and Dang’s niece confirmed that Dang filed for divorce in August 2021 and served Tran with papers on Dec. 18, 2021. Dang’s niece shared that on the day of serving, Dang called her while hiding in her closet due to Tran’s anger. Dang also confided in her niece that Tran intended to delay the divorce process, in hopes she wouldn’t follow through.

Additionally, Tran’s daughter informed the police that on Jan. 9, 2022, Tran sent a text to her and her siblings, stating that he was leaving and they should contact their uncle if needed, before saying goodbye. This incident occurred ahead of a court hearing for a restraining order Dang had requested against her husband.

  • Instagram Influencer Receives 5-Year Prison Sentence For Lavish Lifestyle and Travel Funded By Fraudulent COVID-19 Relief Loans

Instagram Influencer Receives 5-Year Prison Sentence For Lavish Lifestyle and Travel Funded By Fraudulent COVID-19 Relief Loans

According to the US Attorney’s Office for Massachusetts, Instagram influencer Danielle Miller, 32, has been sentenced to a five-year prison term for committing fraud, per Insider

Miller was found guilty of unlawfully acquiring

    “pandemic-related loans”

and using the funds to support her lavish lifestyle. She reportedly utilized the personal information of more than 10 individuals, generating over $1 million in COVID loans from July 2020 to May 2021. To carry out her scheme, Miller employed forged driver’s licenses, featuring her own picture but bearing the names of her victims.

“Ms. Miller isn’t an influencer, she is a convicted felon,”

Acting United States Attorney Joshua S. Levy said in the statement.

“In a quest for fleeting social media stardom, Ms. Miller relied on fraud to fund a lavish lifestyle of private jets, luxury apartments, and other accouterments of wealth.”

Levy emphasized that the sentencing must serve as a clear message that building an elite social media persona at the expense of

    “hardworking taxpayers”

    is a

“path to prison, not fleeting fame.”

Miller’s Instagram following includes Anna Sorokin, a convicted fraudster who posed as a wealthy heiress to gain entry into elite New York social circles. In a previous interview, Miller admitted to being a “con artist” with a charm that allows her to manipulate people.

She was arrested in May 2021 and later pleaded guilty to charges of identity theft and wire fraud. District Court Chief Judge F. Dennis Saylor IV recently sentenced Miller to five years in prison, and three years of supervised release, and ordered her to pay restitution. Additionally, she was forced to surrender several luxury items she fraudulently obtained, and over $600,000 from her residence and bank accounts was seized by the US government.

  • Calls To Fire Oklahoma Elementary School Drag Principal Who Once Faced Child Pornography Charges

Calls To Fire Oklahoma Elementary School Drag Principal Who Once Faced Child Pornography Charges

An elementary school in Oklahoma is facing controversy as demands to dismiss its drag queen principal, who previously faced accusations of child pornography, reports the NY Post

According to a report by Fox News, Shane Murnan, known as

    “Shantel Mandalay”

during drag performances, was appointed as the top administrator of John Glenn Elementary School in Oklahoma City in June. The report reveals that Murnan was charged with possession of child pornography over two decades ago, but the case was eventually dismissed due to a lack of evidence indicating that the images involved minors.

The Oklahoman notes that Murnan had been working as a fifth-grade teacher at the time and subsequently resigned before re-entering the profession at a later date.

Shane Walters, the head of public school education in the state, strongly criticized the school district officials for hiring Murnan and demanded immediate termination of their employment.

“I think that the left has absolutely an agenda for our kids, that they are at war with our kids in the classroom,”

said the Sooner State’s head of public school education, Shane Walters.

“What they are doing is injecting this ideology for an end goal here. Their end goal is to absolutely break down a child’s mind, break down the classroom, break down the family, and you see the results that have come from this.”

District Superintendent Brayden Savage expressed his support for Murnan’s preference when it was announced. Fox News revealed that the principal had a separate Facebook account under the name Mandalay, where he presented himself in drag.

According to the Christian Post, Murnan, who is known for taking part in local drag queen story-reading events for children, applied to become a church minister back in 2014.

“If I went to church this is exactly what I would be wearing,”

Murnan said in a comment while sharing a picture of himself wearing an electric blue wig and sticking out his tongue. Despite reaching out for comment, Murnan did not respond to Fox’s request.

  • Kroger Settles Opioid Lawsuits, Paying $1.2 Billion To U.S. States and $36 Million To Native American Tribes, Denied Wrongdoing

Kroger Settles Opioid Lawsuits, Paying $1.2 Billion To U.S. States and $36 Million To Native American Tribes, Denied Wrongdoing

Kroger, one of the largest grocery chains in the US, has agreed to pay $1.4 billion over 11 years to settle lawsuits related to the opioid crisis, according to the Associated Press

The settlement includes $1.2 billion for state and local governments, $36 million for Native American tribes, and $177 million for legal fees. Kroger, which operates stores in 35 states, plans to make the settlement money available to 33 states. This comes after the company previously settled with New Mexico and West Virginia. The settlement money will primarily be used to address the overdose epidemic that has caused over 80,000 deaths in recent years, with most deaths now linked to illicit synthetic drugs like fentanyl.

The companies involved in the settlement have also agreed to change their business practices for prescription painkillers, including marketing restrictions and using data to identify overprescribing.

“This $1.2 billion agreement-in-principle is another step forward in holding each company that played a role in the opioid epidemic accountable and ensuring hard-hit communities are provided with much-needed resources,”

the lead lawyers representing cities and counties in the litigation – Jayne Conroy, Paul Farrell, and Joe Rice said in a statement on Friday.

Kroger aims to finalize the deal in time for initial payments in December. The company maintains its commitment to patient safety and denies any wrongdoing, according to its settlement.

Although many major players have settled, litigation surrounding the opioid crisis continues, with lawsuits being prepared for trial against supermarket chains Publix and Albertsons, as well as pharmacy benefit managers like Express Scripts and OptumRx.

Captured in disturbing footage, the assault occurred around 3:30 a.m. last Friday at the West 116 Street and Lenox Avenue station, according to the New York Police Department (NYPD).

The shocking two-minute video exhibits an unidentified male assailant lunging at the woman with an umbrella, while she attempts to defend herself using her cane. • Driving Ban Lifted At Burning Man Festival, Allowing Attendees To Leave After Being Stranded In ‘Muddy’ Desert

Driving Ban Lifted At Burning Man Festival, Allowing Attendees To Leave After Being Stranded In ‘Muddy’ Desert

The driving ban at the annual Burning Man music and arts festival was lifted on Monday afternoon, allowing attendees to begin leaving the Nevada desert, according to NPR

    Organizers announced the start of

    “Exodus operations”

at 2 p.m. local time and urged attendees not to walk out of the remote Black Rock Desert location. The ban had been imposed due to muddy roads caused by heavy storms that left attendees stranded. Nearly an inch of precipitation flooded the area starting on Friday, prompting organizers to close access to the festival until conditions improved.

Despite various challenges such as stuck vehicles, overflowing port-a-potties, delayed bus pickups, and unreliable Wi-Fi, NPR spoke to several attendees who remained upbeat despite the damp weather.

“We’re pooling all our food as far as resources. And I would say honestly, walking around the city, spirits are pretty high,”

attendee Anya Kamenetz told the outlet.

According to event volunteer Josh Lease, individuals at the event embody the true essence of Burning Man by generously sharing warm clothes and phone chargers whenever possible. Additionally, the atmosphere is filled with

    “blaring”

    music.

“It’s like any other Burning Man, just muddy,”

    he told NPR.

Meanwhile, authorities in Nevada were investigating a fatality that occurred at the site. The Pershing County Sheriff’s Office, as reported by KNSD-TV, revealed on Saturday that an individual had passed away during the event. However, it is unclear whether the death was potentially caused by the weather conditions.

Starting on Monday, the muck is anticipated to clear up as clear skies are predicted, leading to inevitable traffic congestion during the final days of the annual event.

  • Texas Enforces Groundbreaking Law That Mandates Intoxicated Drivers To Pay Child Support

Texas Enforces Groundbreaking Law That Mandates Intoxicated Drivers To Pay Child Support

As of last Friday, Texas has implemented a new law that holds intoxicated drivers responsible for providing child support if they cause a fatal accident that leaves a child without a parent or guardian, NY Post reported. This legislation, also known as Bentley’s Law (Texas House Bill 393), was filed on November 14, 2020, and signed by Texas Governor Greg Abbott on June 2, 2021.

“Any time a parent passes is tragic, but a death at the hands of a drunk driver is especially heinous,”

the Republican governor wrote on X, formerly known as Twitter.

“I was proud to sign HB 393 into law this year to require offenders to pay child support for the children of their victims.”

Under the newly enacted law, individuals convicted of intoxicated manslaughter will be responsible for child support until the child reaches either 18 years of age or completes their high school education.

“[T]he court shall determine an amount to be paid monthly for the support of the child until the child reaches 18 years of age or has graduated from high school, whichever is later,”

    the text reads.

The child support amount is determined by various factors such as the child’s education, medical expenses, and reasonable childcare costs. The child’s accustomed standard of living is also taken into account. If someone is unable to make payments due to being in jail, they may be able to arrange a payment plan.

“[T]he defendant shall begin payments not later than the first anniversary of the date of the defendant’s release from the facility,”

    the law states.

“The defendant may enter into a payment plan to address any arrearage that exists on the date of the defendant’s release.”
