Whoopi Goldberg Reacts To Ryan Gosling’s Disappointment Over Margot Robbie and Greta Gerwig Oscar Snub

Life isn’t a fair game for Whoopi Goldberg, and Margot Robbie and Greta Gerwig’s Oscars snub isn’t a big deal. The talk show co-host, known for her no-nonsense personality, highlighted that the Academy Awards did not vote for these women. She claimed, “Not everybody gets a prize.”

    Barbie’s Ryan Gosling Expresses Disappointment

Greta, the writer and director of Barbie, collaborated with Margot, who played Barbie, and Ryan, who played Ken, in a film that has achieved immense success. Barbie has gained attention both at the box office and for its feminist themes. However, Greta and Margot were snubbed in their respective categories for this year’s Oscars. Neither of them received nominations for Best Director or Best Actress. On the other hand, as reported by TIME, Ryan and America Ferrera, fellow cast members, earned spots in the Best Supporting Actor/Actress list.

While acknowledging the Oscars snub, Ryan praised the entire team, including Greta and Margot. He emphasized that their brilliant minds brought the film to life. In his statement, he added, “To say that I’m disappointed that they are not nominated in their respective categories would be an understatement.”

Whoopi Goldberg’s Response to Margot Robbie and Greta Gerwig’s Lack of Individual Nominations by the Oscars

Whoopi refused to see the insensitivity in Margot and Greta’s Oscars snub. The co-host maintained that it was not a snub during her time on The View. She refused to play the victim card and chimed in, “They’re not snubs… it’s the entire Academy Awards family who votes… Everybody! So, there are seven to ten nominations that happen, and you don’t get everything that you want to get.”

According to Whoopi, “Not everybody gets a prize, and it is subjective.” She explained that not everyone likes the same movie, and their preferences would influence their votes. Therefore, getting disappointed would be an unnecessary joke.

Indeed, the producers are determined to deliver nothing but the best, so it comes as no surprise that they have been thoughtful in the casting process. Michael’s nephew, Jaafar, who bears a striking resemblance to the late icon, has been chosen for the lead role. Colman Domingo will be mentoring Jaafar onscreen, portraying Joe Jackson in ‘Michael’.

Speaking about the selection, Graham and Antoine expressed their confidence in the rising star. According to Graham, only “a few actors possess Colman’s screen presence and force of will. We are incredibly fortunate to have an actor of his undeniable talent portraying Joe Jackson on screen. We couldn’t be more excited to have him join us on this journey.”

“Colman has incredible range – he immerses himself in his characters and understands their true essence and motivations,” added Antoine.

Simultaneously, it is with great honor and joy that Colman takes on the role of Joe. In his own words:

“I am excited to be a part of a film that explores both the complex soul of the legendary Michael Jackson and his impact on music and culture as a global icon.”

According to Deadline, the onscreen star revealed that everyone involved is already working hard to bring the film to life in 2025. Jaafar is fully committed to his role and embodies “Michael’s essence.” Colman added that Michael’s nephew is dedicated to the biopic and is putting in a lot of effort.

Paramount Exec Reveals Reason Why Mean Girls Not Marketed As Musical

After many disappointed viewers have called out the Mean Girls remake movie for false advertisement, the President of Paramount’s global marketing has publicly admitted the studio’s role in choosing not to explicitly market the new film as a musical because they didn’t want to ‘turn off audiences’.

According to Variety, Paramount’s Marc Weinstock disclosed that the decision to avoid marketing it as a musical was intentional.

“We didn’t want to run out and say it’s a musical because people tend to treat musicals differently,” he told Variety. “To start off saying musical, musical, musical, you have the potential to turn off audiences,” he said. “I want everybody to be equally excited.”

Weinstock continued, “This is a movie within the ‘Mean Girls’ world,” Weinstock says. “We didn’t want to distill it down to one thing because it’s not one thing.”

The concerns were raised after the film’s January 12th debut, which had many of the audience appalled as they took to social media to express their discontent in finding out the new film wasn’t a direct remake of the 2004 comedy classic but instead an adaptation of Tina Fey’s Broadway musical.

Hathaway Solidarity Walk With Union workers

Actor Anne Hathaway reportedly walked out of a Vanity Fair photoshoot in solidarity with the Condé Nast union workers’ walkout, with reports of imminent layoffs for many of their colleagues. Condé Nast owns many of the most recognizable publishing brands in the United States.

As has been widely reported, the actress was made aware of the walkout by union officials only after arriving at the scene of the shoot. She immediately vacated the scene to show her solidarity with the picketing workers.

The Condé Nast Union staged its day-long walkout to coincide with the Oscars nomination. Union officials are accusing Condé Nast of regressive bargaining and breaking the law in bargaining by rescinding an offer they had previously made regarding layoffs.

The actress walked out in solidarity when her union, SAG-AFTRA, joined the one-day walkout. Union officials are applauding her for her stance in drawing attention to their plight.

According to Variety, after the Tuesday morning Oscar nominations were announced, the ‘Barbie’ star America Ferrera was overwhelmed with emotions surrounding the announcement of her nomination for the Oscar awards.

“There was a moment where I wasn’t sure if I had made it up,” Ferrera told Variety. “And then my phone started blowing up so I figured that I must have heard it right.”

Her nomination which came as a shock was credited for her role as Gloria, the human lens through which “Barbie” is viewed in the $1.4 billion blockbuster comedy.

“I still haven’t been able to get in my feelings because I’m still on like the top layer of ‘I can’t even believe that this is real,’” Ferrera explains.

In addition to Ferrera’s nomination, “Barbie” also bagged multiple nominations for best picture, supporting actor (Ryan Gosling), adapted screenplay (Greta Gerwig and Noah Baumbach), costume design, production design, and original songs. However, two notable nominations were missing from that group: Greta Gerwig (best director) and Margot Robbie (best actress).

  • Common Wishes to Get Tapped for the Next Spiderman Production, He Shows Off Push-Up Skills

Common Wishes to Get Tapped for the Next Spiderman Production, He Shows Off Push-Up Skills

Common has a desire to become a superhero for everyone, as he showcases his Spiderman push-up skills. The actor appeared on Today’s Hoda & Jenna show to discuss his book, but he left an impression that Marvel might need him for their next Spiderman film.

Common Markets Himself as a Great Writer and Spider-Man WannaBe

During his appearance on Hoda & Jenna’s show, Common took a chance to appeal to the producers of Spider-Verse to cast him. He demonstrated his strength and fitness by performing push-ups with the Spiderman leg fold. In a post that included clips from his studio visit, Common focused on the first clip where he seemed to amaze the hosts with his exercise. In the caption, he jokingly said:

“Tell them to put me in the Spider-Verse. How many Spider-Man push-ups can you do?”

Other photos accompanying the video showcased Common’s book, “And Then We Rise: A Guide to Loving and Taking Care of Self,” with the interviewers. Back in the studio, he discussed what the new book has to offer and praised Maya Angelou for being an inspiration.

    Additionally, according to VIBE:

“When I was thinking of a title for this book, I was considering the idea of self-care and self-love as something that also benefits the community… When you take care of yourself and reach your highest potential, you’re actually uplifting your community, family, and the world just by being in your own power, light, and joy. I saw it as more of a movement and not just something for myself.”

Common’s Spider-Man journey may have started sooner than he expected, even though he is already a real-life superhero. The actor, who has been in a low-key relationship with Jennifer Hudson since 2022, expressed his gratitude for having her in his life during an appearance on her talk show. While describing his lover, he made the host blush. Although the couple has kept their romance private, they have been inseparable for nearly a year, going on dates and displaying public affection.

Regarding the potential Spider-Verse feature, Common will have to wait for a response from the MCU. Currently, the producers of the superhero film are hoping to win an Oscar in the Best Animated Feature category. Spider-Verse is competing against Nimona, Elemental, The Boy and the Heron, and Robot Dreams.

  • “None Of My Movies Are Going To The Awards” Declares Jason Momoa

“None Of My Movies Are Going To The Awards” Declares Jason Momoa

After his roles in Aquaman and The Lost Kingdom, with the movie slightly exceeding expectations at the box office, Jason Momoa remains uncertain about the impact of his films in the industry. During his interview with Variety regarding his latest project ‘On The Roam,’ where he travels the country seeking art, adventure, and friendship, the actor talked about the many prospects he wishes to accomplish in his career.

According to Variety, while doing ‘On the Roam,’ Momoa noticed that he still feels he has so much to do in his career and thinks he hasn’t become an expert at anything.

“I don’t really think I’ve done anything so far,” he says, adding that “On the Roam” simply highlights “what I’d be doing on my off days.” Momoa continues, “I’m not going to be able to master all of these things. I’m a solid C+ to B- at everything. But I like doing a lot of different things, and I’m not an A at one thing. I really went after comedy. ‘SNL’ let me on twice. I tried ‘Slumberland,’ and it did OK,” Momoa says. “I have ‘Minecraft.’ I’m going to do another comedy-esque action thing with Dave Bautista after that. If people love this, I’d love to do a Season 2.”

After his breakout into the limelight more than 10 years ago playing Khal Drogo in the HBO blockbuster series ‘Game Of Thrones,’ the Dothraki king has played a part in franchises such as the Justice League and Fast and Furious. Despite his roles in these films, the actor, however, is not so sure if those projects are likely to receive any awards attention.

“There are some movies out there that I gotta go back to, and I’m sure if you did your homework, you’ll know which movies I’m referring to,” Momoa says. “I’ve just never been a part of movies that — none of my movies are going to the awards. I’m not really that guy. So maybe one day it’d be nice to do one of those kinds of movies, where it’s a really, really good movie.”

Disrespect In Hollywood: Lindsay Lohan Hurt By Rude Comments

Lindsay Lohan‘s publicist, Lesley Sloane, issued a statement to People and other media outlets, revealing that the actor is hurt and disappointed by the new Mean Girls film. The film references a rude comment made to her nearly two decades ago. The original Mean Girls star expressed her concern about the “joke” made about her in the new Mean Girls musical.

The musical film topped the domestic box office, with Meghan de Stallion making a cameo as herself at a talent show. During the show, she commented on Cady Haron’s (played by Angourie Rice) Christmas-themed outfit, originally portrayed by Lindsey, saying,

“We are going back red. Y2K fire crotch is back,” referring to Brandon Davis‘ 2006 paparazzi video where he made derogatory remarks about Lindsay, calling her a “Fire crotch.”

However, it was later reported that Lindsay was unaware of the joke, despite making a surprise cameo appearance in one scene. She was surprised when she attended a screening of the film, alongside Tina Fey, the writer and co-star of the 2004 Mean Girls movie, in which Lohan also appeared.
